Beautiful location with very friendly staff
location, friendiness of staff
7.3
This resort was amazing! The island is absolutely beautiful, every staff member is happy to help and greets you with a smile. There is only one restaurant on the island and it is at the resort, so your food choices are somewhat limited if you are staying for a while. Also, they don't mention that you have to pay for the boat ride to the island which is 1,000 pisos (about 25USD) each way on top of your taxi fee of 500 pisos from the airport. Even with the surprise cost of transportation, the stay was definitely worth it, especially if you're interested in diving.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
If you're a diver, this is your heaven.

Accomodation was fine. Staff were friendly and helpful. Food was OK and probably does not deserve some of the previous comments. Unfortunately i was stranded here for a few days because of a typhoon. This also meant i could snorkel - which was the main reason i came. Ah well - i believe the house reef is very beautiful though.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Have a walk around the isalnd and chat to the locals as they are very friendly

Amazing seaview, economic,quiet Hotel
colourful corals shore, close to sea bluff, lots of fish, easy place to see turtle and dolphin,Mango shake, snokelling, scuba diving
9
Accomodation:Soft bed, quiet place, only one hotel on the island. Far away from noisy life, no hot water, no television, no internet, but aircondition in the room. Because the weather is hot, take a shower in cold water is comfortable. No entertainment after sunset. However, we are tired in the day so fell asleep quickly after dinner around 9PM.
Lack of fresh water, though the hotel provide enough fresh water, should use is wisely. Washing clothes in the room is forbidden, because the fresh water is limited.
Drink recommend: Mango shake, Mango Juice
Dishes recommend:Fried Squid, Singapore Fried rice, Bake fish, less food choice, lack of fish dishes.
Amazing seaview: there are lots of corals and fish. The best place for snokelling and scuba diving. The bluff(scar)under the sea is close to the coral shore, can get there even swim from the shore. The convient place to see dolphin and turtle.
Hotel Feature Tip:
ecomomic hotel, no hot water, no television, no internet, no entertainment after sunset. Prepare your own toiletries. no hairdryer,no heater pot. Prepare some bread for feeding fish.

Come here for the diving. From the island two dives are 3500 pesos, which is more than Alona. The beach is lovely and the diving is great. Loads of Turtles and Jacks.
Resort is a bit dated though but rooms are clean. Restaurant is quite expensive also.

We had great time on Balicasag island. The diving instructor Aldo is great, resort is nice, rooms are clean and big enough. Everyone in the restaurant is friendly and service is good. Very pleasant stay! I recommend!

Five Star exterior but spartan accommodations
Beautiful setting, Magnificant reef, spectacular snorkeling
8
We loved our time here. We planned on two nights but stayed for five. We decided to become CMAS certified in scuba diving - and it was worth every penny. Arnold and Jonas were patient and thorough instructors. The setting is an island resort paradise. There were only a few other people - we loved that we had the place mostly to ourselves. I read the other reviews about the food and shower - and I can't disagree, but for the price, it's more than worth the small sacrifice. It's a small island, so if it were really a full five-star resort - with a hot, high-pressure water shower and a four-star dinner menu, the price might double or triple. The coral reef was amazing. You can get to it by snorkeling. if you walk around the island and see the conditions in which the inhabitants are living, and the lack of a water supply, perhaps you'll be more understanding of the water/shower situation. Also, most workers at the resort are from this small island - so they don't have a college degree in hotel management/hospitality, but my experience was that if you show them respect and kindness it was gratefully returned to you. We plan to return.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Bring booties to use for swimming and walking the beach - coral.
