Charming staff, great food
Wine and cheese samplings

l'elephant bleu is a nice little french run hotel just a few minutes walk away from the beach. the location is such that your beach walk will take you past numerous choices in restaurants and nightclubs to choose from later in the day.
the rooms are acceptable for an establishment near the beach, you aren't going to be spending much time in them anyway. clean and neat, but nothing special about them. be sure to ask for a back room as sometimes the street noise can be a bit loud.
what does make this a great choice is the charm of the staff and it's french owner. friendly, gregarious and willing to assist you in your beachy needs. additionally, located on the ground floor is a fantastic little french bistro with real french bread and pastries as well as a much sought after commodity in the philippines... real coffee!
the bistro also has a nice selection of imported wines and cheeses. they host wine and cheese tastings so be sure to ask for their schedule as it makes for a perfect evening with your someone special.

Great service, tasty cafe and clean rooms.
clean, friendly, great location, helpful information
10
we booked our first night as a room fan and when we arrived there wasn't enough breeze in the room with the fan to be comfortable enough for us so, we upgraded to an air con room. we only thought we'd stay one night but after all of the great information from the owner and the great location, we decided to stay two more nights. the rooms were top-notch clean and comfortable. the hotel offered many excursions and activity packages. we enjoyed snorkeling and motorbiking.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Start your morning at the hotel's cafe, Le Rendez-Vous, then rent a motorbike for the day and ride all over Panglao and Bohol. Don't pay more than 400 pesos.

Wonderful cottages in a beautiful garden
Great location, beautiful garden and cottage
9.7
The stay was perfect. The cottage itself is amazing. It's really nice designed inside, the bathroom is spacious and very cool. The bed was very comfortable, veranda of the cottage was amazing. The room was super super clean - even the bathroom was almost shining. There is a strong fan in the room and TV with many channels. Just one negative thing - the wi-fi internet didn't work at all. The owner is a friendly guy, who cares how people enjoyed the stay. The resort restaurant is very good, but if you wanna save a bit, cross the street and head to the pizza place, which has great prices, huge portions and wonderful food. They have all kinds of cousines. If I go back to Alona, I will definitley stay here again.
Restaurant Tip:
Pizza Restaurant with all kinds of food - they have great burritos e.g. :)

It was good
reasonable price and good location

we stayed at l’elephant bleu hotel which was located across the street (opposite side) of l’elephant bleu cottages. a cab ride from tagbilaran port to the hotel is about 350 pesos. it's a very nice location, 3-5min walk to alona beach and lots of restaurants nearby. the room was okay, tv cable, aircon and wifi was working fine. toilet was clean and there is a hot water shower. there is no refrigerator in the room. if you are thirsty, you can go down stairs and buy a mineral water bottle near the reception counter. overall it was good. i would recommend this hotel.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
There are lots of guys offering tours along Alona Beach side. Chocolate Hills, Loboc River Cruise, Tarsier, Dolphin watching and Virgin Island is a must!

Reasonably priced
Clean rooms, sheets and towels were changed everyday even without request
8.3
our stay was pleasant, we got the family room with 2 double-decks and 1 double bed. staff who clean the rooms are courteous, although people at the reception area could be practice being more friendly and accommodating. our rooms were cleaned everyday, sheets and towels are changed as well and tissue replenished regularly. its a bit far from the main beach (alona) but the 5-10min walk isn't so bad.

Nice new building with big rooms
Large rooms and good aircon
9.3
It is a place that is continusly improving around you. They are spending money to improve the restaurant downstairs and the rooms. Staff keep it nice and tidy. It is a little walk to the beach down the hill but not too far. I couldnt pick a fault at all. Part of the facilty (older part) and new cabins are on one side of the road and the motel like new building is on the other.
Restaurant Tip:
Great chicken on a stick on the main intersection next to the bakery cant miss it it. Both places should be supported as they support the local people and are cheep too, expecially when you compare the the beach side places.

Great location and simple, nice rooms
Great friendly staff, close to the beach

The next best thing to a beachside villa. Particularly if traveling on a budget. Shower isn't that great and basin water is a little salty but apart from that certainly worth the stay.

The first night we stayed in Alona and move to Cherry's for the rest days. Elephant is very popular on internet, and I really think it was so so as Cherry's is better valued.
Nightlife Tip:
Rent a van and go to Bee farm!

shower water are too salty, location around 500 meters to one kilometer. beds fairly comfortable. try to stsy in the cottage for more cozy bed, ambiance is good, water is not salty compare on the aircon room on the new building. restaurants and massage are in a walking distance as well as coffee shops. wifi is good, but not on the cottage room.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
near shoreline 500m
