nice hotel with friendly staff

the staff fetch us the port on time and upon arival at the hotel, the courteous staff welcomed us and pleasantly and assisted us. The place is safe, the room and bathroom is clean.
Breakfast is okay.

Worth the rate with good atmosphere

My family and I found the place as one of the nicest hotel/pension house in the area.
While still in the busy city of Tagbilaran, the place is still blocks away from the city main streets thus, noise from people and vehicle are not really things to be worried about.
The place is already equipped with small dining area thus a need for a restaurant may no longer be required.
Beach side (Panglao island) is not that far and may be reached by a van/vehicle in less than 30 minutes.
Our stay is considered a great one, in terms of food, hospitality, atmosphere and distance to our target places.
They may not be the best, but still, they are the Vest!

Nice Hotel, off the beaten track

The Vest Pension is a decent hotel with fairly large clean rooms. The free breakfast was pretty limited in choices, especially western, but my fiance enjoyed the Pinoy alternatives. The Vest is fairly close to the city. We walked into town a few times, which took us 15-20 minutes. They have free pick up and drop off service to the ferry port. We found the staff to be reasonably friendly and helpful. For some reason, they didn't clean our room or change the linen during the 4 nights we were there. The location of Vest isn't the best. A normal person would take a trike into the city, though we walked. Public transportation is cheap, but you really need to take it anywhere you go. We were satisfied overall.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Always negotiate the price before you get into a tricycle. If you don't, they can charge you anything they want. For example, to the mall is normally a 20php trip. We forgot to ask beforehand and was charged 50php when we arrived (still only a dollar, but it's the principle)

Simple hotel but friendly
A short tricycle trip to Bohol Quality Mall. 5 mins from Airport. Good price.

We arrived in Bohol in morning, went for a full day tour, then check-in at 5pm.
We reserved in a family room (2 double beds), then found out that the room was on ground floor. High window at wall, no view. The room had a smell so asked to change room. Since no other room available, the hotel agreed to upgrade to Executive room (one double bed), which was also on the ground floor, bigger but I have to pay for extra beds.
The staff is friendly, accommodate most of our needs.
The breakfast was simple, 4 choics to pick from.
I also stayed for a lunch, good price, but prepared to wait for 20 mins for food, which tasted good.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
In the city Tagbilaran, you can ride tricycle @P8 per person.
For next trip, I will probably stay in a beach front resort in Panglao island.
Some tour attractions in Panglao island were closed on Sunday morning, e.g. Bee farm, Ostrich farm. You may like to check the opening hours before the visit.

It was a large room with two double beds and a bathroom. Nice wood throughout and breakfast was served in the price. Don't stay on the 2nd floor, you can hear the hotel guest on the third floor.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
For the adventurous, take the jeepney and local buses. It will save you tonnes of money and give you a better feel for life on Bohol. Also, be sure to include a trip to the Tarsier Sanctuary. Seeing these incredible animals in their natural environment is so worth it.

this hotel is situated 500m away from tagbilaran center and is finally far from noise of this bustling city.
staff is polite, building is nice as well, but the rooms are prison cells!
the suite is a joke : no day light at all! the window offers a panoramic view on a wall 5o cm away.
we ask for a change. we moved to a standard room. same history...
all tourists look for sun in the philippines not a prison cell with no day light!
breakfast very basic and you have to choose between coffee/tea or powder orange juice. if you want another cup of tea, they charge you as an extra.
