Quiet and spacious

Vest Pension House is about a 10-15 minute walk from the downtown area of Tagbilaran city, and about 5 minutes more to the pier where the ferries are. Because of that, it is really quiet even during the day time. You can ride a "tricycle scooter taxi" to the downtown area for 15-20 pesos and about 3 minutes so the location was almost irrelevant.
The building itself has dark hardwood floors which is a nice, comfortable change from the tiled floors of most pension houses I've stayed at in the Philippines. The rooms are large and all have a small desk.
However, not all rooms are equal! A couple of the rooms in the back of the house, while having windows, have no access to sunlight. I have stayed at Vest Pension House two separate times, and the second time I made sure to get a room with sunlight. I recommend specifically requesting a room with access to sunlight unless that would not bother you.
The breakfast is fine. Nothing special, but it is on par with other pension houses.
The staff seems friendly, though perhaps occasionally forgetful. I came back to my room once in the mid afternoon and requested a wake up call for 3 pm, but was woken at 3:30. I didn't mind, personally, except that something like this should be mentioned in a review. My other wake up calls have all been on time--they don't have an automated wake up system.
I've stayed at two other Pensions in Tagbilaran, and this one is my favorite. Though the breakfast at Daruandy Manor is superior and the ingredients fresher, Vest wins in every other category (size, bed comfort, ambiance, etc.) by a long shot!
Hotel Feature Tip:
They'll pick you up and drop you off from the airport or the pier for free if you let them know in advance.

The staff are very friendly and helpful. They are willing to share the good tour spots with me. I like the room. It's clean and warm. Pretty big. Though I met a couple who told me there was a rat in their room. As for the room I stayed is perfect. Its breakfast is delicious

there are cheaper options in bora and more expensive ones. this hotel has everything i needed. clean room, clean sheets (changed every day), air con, cable t.v. the staff are great and are happy to 'bend' little rules that others just say 'no'.
staff were great, very responsive. i had a few requests and questions while i was there and everything was done within 10 minutes. i will definitely stay there again.
Hotel Feature Tip:
You dont have to stay in Station 2 or 1. Tricycle will cost you P20 and 5 mins of your time to get from Station 3 to Station 1. Or, you can walk along the lovely beach for 15 mins.

Best Cheap Hotel for Bohol Touring
Very very friendly staff, great wifi connection, cheap & large room, airport to hotel transfer & free Breakfast!

Has a huge room, decent facilities (specially wifi). Cheap food.
Quiet neighborhood since its around 100m away from the National Road. Free airport to hotel service. Free use of public PC (if you dont have a laptop to use). Overall best value for money if you're into adventure/ touring.
Cons - squeaky wooden floors, limited breakfast menu, waterheater needs atleast 3 minutes to activate (if you're on the 2nd and 3rd floor.)
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
If you're going for a tour (any packages)it's best to book at vest pension house. You don't have to spend more for accommodation while you are out for a tour.

we only stayed here for one night, but i would have liked to stay longer. it was a very good price and the rooms were large and clean. we stayed for one day and went to see the tarsiers. it is a bit farther out of town than the other pensions, but the tricycle ride is really cheap and only about 5 mins. i would definitely recommend this pension.

One of the cheapest deal in Bohol

One of the cheapest deal. They pick you up in a big van. For breakfast you can choose (juice + waffle set or local rice set). Free Wifi in room.
Exterior a little run-down and it's tucked in a little muddy corner. Aircon is noisy and dripping water. Room not sound proof so walking/ door opening/ talking in the other room is loud.
Location is just 5-10min (20 peso ie USD 0.50 cents) by Tricycle from the largest island City mall (3 storey , airconditioned of restaurants, shops, supermarket and food court). Right opposite the mall is the Dao Integrated Bus Terminal
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
To go to Panglao Island, Chocolate hills etc, there are buses from the Dao Integrated bus terminal for just a few peso. (buses are painted with their destination). There is no scheduled timing, they wait till the bus is almost full. Its fairly easy to get to your destination BUT the problem is coming back! there are very few buses, taxi at those destination.( i was quoted 300 pseo 1way to come back from panglao island to tagbilaran). So unless you have all the time to wait along the road, it may be better to hire a private car rental (rem to bargain for a good price) (feel free to contact me for more tips!

clean and very affordable
good place to stay if you are budget conscious

We arrived on a rainy day so the road leading to the hotel was very rough and muddy. the hotel was clean ( the bedroom and the (toilet). Staff was helpful and the complimentary breakfast was good but not many to choose from. The hotel is just a short tricycle ride to the new Island city mall.
