hotel staff, location, free breakfast,

bathroom!!! sandy rooms

All in all, it wasn't exactly what I would have thought when I booked the room, but it was still nice. First I have to give credit to the staff for being very accommodating. I came in a little before 10am (well before the actual check-in time) and they offered me my room on the spot which was very considerate. The room was "okay", but I noticed the floors were a bit sandy, which made walking around in annoying without slippers. And the bathroom was well below my standards. It wasn't so much as it wasn't clean, but more on that it's not really well designed to look nice. The tiles, the sink, etc... all needed to be replace just to make it look nicer. The shower heater almost never worked. And ants are constantly on the bathroom sink (which seems to be common in many of Boracay's resorts according to other user reviews). ----- Contrary to what another user said, I thought the breakfast was more then adequate for something that's suppose to be free. I first tried the Filipino breakfast which consisted of everything that's included in a typical Filipino breakfast (down to have just enough garlic in the garlic fried rice) and was pretty tasty. I next tried the American breakfast which was also filling in taste and quantity. They served fried bacon, an egg cooked to my own choosing, toast with butter and jelly (grape I believe?) and orange juice. Again, it's not exactly a casino hotel's breakfast buffet, but more then enough for it's price tag. ----- The resort is a good first time experience but I don't believe I plan to stay there again.. not due to the Cons that I mentioned, but because want to try out other resorts in the area.

Travel tip : The location of this resort seemed perfect. Any person going to Boracay needs to stay in a beach front resort. You'll just end of regretting it if you don't.

I spent 6 days a Casa Pilar and from the moment I checked in to the time I left I felt welcome and very comfortable. The staff are definitely an asset there. The room was clean and comfortable too and the surrounding gardens were always a pleasure to walk through.

Being a westerner I like a well prepared breakfast. The American breakfast was disapponting so I opted for the Filopino one thereafter which was adequate. The shower was disapponting too.

The room was clean and comfortable too and the surrounding gardens were always a pleasure to walk through. The location of my room was good too as it was a little set back off the beach and quiet. The breakfast however, was disappointing.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Casa Pilar is a great location for any of the activities you want on the water. There are vendors everywhere.
