Very affordable, basic amenities, clean, truly beach front hotel.
The layout of the old wing is like a dormitory. It gets very noisy as other guests keep passing by your door.
Honestly, apart from the fact that it is cheap and truly beach front as it claims, I didn't like the layout of the old wing rooms (that's what you'll get for the free 3rd night package) Because of the dormitory design, it tends to get really noisy because of the close proximity with the corridor and other guests passing by or just shouting and screaming outside my door. I couldn't sleep well because it was constantly noisy. Just when I thought I drifted off to sleep, someone would be screaming or shouting again. I don't recommend it for those who are looking for a relaxing hotel stay. It won't be.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : There will be many offers for bicycles, motorcycles, ATV, buggy, parasailing, etc kind of packages from the guides waiting outside the hotel. Do not rent the bicycle, it is a waste of money. You'd be struggling to cycle uphill and due to the single lane roads, it gets dangerous because the jeepneys/tricycles want to get past you. They also tend to make emergency stops and make U-turns as they like. Rental of ATVs and buggies are expensive.. at PHP1300 per hour on the average.

It's a beachfront hotel at a very affordable price. Plus, it is at the center of Station 2 (where the party happens). They upgraded our stay from superior to executive for free. There are different parts of the hotel and we stayed at the backside (Executive Rooms). The room was very nice and clean and the staff were very polite. The buffet breakfast was delicious too. We'd definitely book a room in this hotel in our next trip to Boracay.
There's an ongoing construction for the new facade of the hotel.

beach front, kind staff, very organized
water of the shower is weak (low pressure), rooms are a bit old.
I was expecting something like the picture shown in the home page (pool); however, when I got there I got very disapointed, since the hotel was under renewal. Because of that, the beach front "atmosphere" was completely broken. Also, the noise during the day was somehow annoying. However, the service was very efficient and the staff extremely kind, which made my stay there very pleasureable. For sure I would return.
Travel tip : diving around the island is awesome.

value for money
bfast included
accommodating staff
beachfront
no guest record
no water heater
no outside calls
This was my third stay with La Carmela de Boracay. The lobby was a little bit crowded as large groups check in and the air-conditioning was insufficient as caused by the ongoing renovation of the facade. They could have put additional electric fans to improve ventilation.
The rooms were clean and spacious. However, the the linens had a strong scent caused by the fabric conditioner. I have sensitive sinuses that's why it irritated me.
Food was not at superb but not at all bad. Breakfast buffet plus the attentive staff sure helped me start my day right.
We used to walk far to get to a better part of the beach (most esp. in summer as algae/seaweed plague the shore) but during this time of the year, the beach in front of the hotel is perfectly enjoyable.
Hotel Feature Tip : The hotel allows late check out probably till 12 noon most especially to those who have late flights.

under renovation so very noisy, dirty bathroom, water marks everywhere, the water in the faucet smells bad, hallway is noisy. not worth the pay
one of the not so good hotel in bora.the location is bad,far from dmall, the interior of the room is bad,the room is warm, the tv is not clear, the bathroom is dirty, watermarks everywhere, the water in the faucet smells bad, probably because of the renovation, there are times when you can smell the drains, yuck.i asked for a single queen size bed and they gave me two single beds, so my husband and i have to sleep separately.the staffs are nice though, but all in all, its not worth coming back for.

See title. Right on the beach, well situated in regards to just about everything.
Don't expect excellent service. You will not receive it. They also charge for the use of pool/beach towels.
Because of the location and the price I would stay at Carmela again. The beach area right out front is very nice. The buffet breakfast is not spectacular, but it does the job, and the wait staff is fine. I did not find the front desk staff to be very competent, however. I would simply lower my expectations next time.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : I used Fisheye Divers for my scuba diving, and I was quite satisfied with them.

noisy, breakfast meh, no internet
This hotel was ok. Go here if you are a family with little kids, because it is suited for that. There is a shallow swimming pool, that is safe for young children. They will make many friends there, since that is where all the little kids hang out.
The breakfast was free, so I had it...but I would say that it was so-so...the usual longanisa, egg, rice, congee, toast, etc. I think they could have done better with the quality at least.
If you do not have little kids, or are travelling on a "romantic" getaway, you would do better elsewhere. There is construction going on, so you have non-stop construction. Also the little kids are constantly screaming and slamming doors. The music played is more than the speakers can handle and is just plain annoying.
The staff did what they have to do, but thats it. You should also expect that your room will only be cleaned/made up if you ask for it.

Great location, right on the beach
Lots of construction, pool a little small for the size of the hotel
First time visitor to the Philippines. Hotel right on the beach at station 2, so plenty of walks both ways. Rooms basic but clean. Only 2 problems, 1) Make sure you print out your hotel voucher, even though I did, still had a problem and 2) They will only make up your room if you ask, so if you don't ask, they wont change. Positive sides, staff very friendly and the restaurant stays open all night. Would stay again if I return to Boracay.

It's on the beachfront. Very practical-priced rooms. Nice patio and their restaurant is right in front by the beach.
Sandy shower floors, dorm-like hallway
Our stay in La Carmela was a practical choice. We wanted something by the beach and in the middle of everything. It was nice walking along the seashore and along the side streets at night with all the bars and restaurants. The staff were friendly and helpful. I look forward to their upcoming renovation.

Beach front and located side by side with the more expensive hotels. Clean room, excellent service and good free buffet breakfast.
I was pleasantly surprised with the price of the room accomodation per night considering its location. It is beach front and close to the more expensive hotels, shopping area and nice/affordable restaurants. I stayed with friends for 3 nights and we were very satisfied. We met the hotel manager and he is very friendly and accomadating. Hotel staff were eager to help and friendly. Buffet breakfast, in my opinion is very good, and it's free. Definitely I will stay here again.

beachfront, polite staff, free wifi at the lobby, free buffet breakfast, acoustic singer at night
there's a construction going on at this time of the year, i forgot something in the hotel and they are not contacting me as to how i could have the items shipped, they tried to charge me for a broken plate in the terrace which is the fault of a stray cat
the best thing about the hotel is that it has free wifi in the lobby, but only on limited period of the day (i think from 8am-9pm). also it's right in front of the beach so you need not walk a mile to get to the water. they also have swimming pool in front of the building so kids may go swimming without the parents having to worry that their kids might drown in the beach.. however, at this time of the year (end of july to august), there is an on-going construction in the building, so it might pose as a threat or danger to the guests. also it causes inconvenience to guests. anyway, free buffet breakfast is a plus.

we went there they were under renovation and the hotel was not good to look at but its ok coz there doing well. The good point is that the hotel is very near the beach and that it is very easy to go around Boracay. The hotel staff are friendly and helpful - they could provide you with almost anything (towels, restaurant delivery numbers, etc.).
they need to check the CR coz its stuck...
la carmela for me is the best hotel because its affordable especially if you with your family and relative, nearest in all beach, station and for buying souvenir.if i'm going back to boracay again i'm still prefer to stay in la carmela, even we when there last july there still renovating for me is not hassle the staff are accomodating and helpful....

cheapest beach front hotel
the aircon in our room is not that strong so we opted to borrow an electric fan

staff are accomodating, helpful, and nice
the room is not that cool
when we get there, they upgraded our room from semi-deluxe to one of their VIP room - w/ dining area for free. the hotel is also close to the beach and easy to go to most areas in Boracay. All in all, we were satisfied with their service.
