price and location was the key factor. the location was the best for the shopping and accessible to all the bars and restaurants that are reasonably price. THE STAFF WAS GREAT FROM THE BEGINNING TO THE END drinking water is available if ou will request. the room was decent and was better than what I expected from reading previous reviews by other guest. except for the hot water which was spot on... the hot water was not dependable. but there were good fresh towels. pool is good enough for the kids but a bit small for many adults. sure the WIFI was only in the pool area but surprisingly there was free wifi outide on the balcony... the food was not a good as what I expected but the midnite LOMI and BATCHOY was GREAT! wish tey offered continental breakfast or the usual TAPSILOG and TOSILOG. i will certainly consider staying in LA CARMELA again... best bang for the buck

  • Restaurant Tip : the buffets everywhere you go was reasonably priced. if you decide to buy lobster from ala carte. dont spend more than 190 pesos per 100 grams. you can always find the right food at the right price just be patient.

I stayed her with my gf and we had a great time. Very price worthy and nice place. Can recommend this place to most people and will have no problem coming back. The hotel is just on the water front, you can easy hear people outside your room so try to stay on the 3rd floor, most quite. Over all it was very good

Right on the water front, clean, very good breakfast buffe and nice staff

The wireless internet is only by the pool and is not so stable. Need to ask them to clean your room (but not really a problem)

  • Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Take the boat tour around the Island, great tour and all the vendors are selling it for about 770ph per person.

Overall the hotel was very nice and had a really good location on boat station 2. The pool was mainly for children and there were no chairs by the pool, but luckily beach is so close that they were not needed. The breakfast buffet was okay with standard toast and eggs breakfast but also some Philippine dishes.

Situated right at the beach

Air condition was not so good

The staff greeted us with the upmost warmth and caring state. The manager was always present, no matter what day or time it was. The complimentary breakfast was excellent, ie; I requested egg white omelet every morning, it was never a problem. The resort definitely revealed the feeling of being on an island. Every employee I encountered greeted me with professionalism. I realy felt like a King there. However, the swimming pool could have been oooler Sincerey, Mr. Kenneth Sarver

The hotel staff, very friendly and courteous. Also, the accessbility to the beach.

A few bugs in the hotel room, room # 105. The towels need to be upgraded

  • Nightlife Tip : Much nightlife throughout the area of the resort. Many friendly vacationers whereever I walked to. Excellent security and police presense, being that the police station is within 3 minutes.

Affordable and it suits the rate. It is not as bad as what I have seen in the reviews before.

Affordable, pleasant staff, good buffet breakfast, rooms are just okay.

Ventilation and the maintenance of the hotel room, no daily make up. The cable is not so good.

  • Restaurant Tip : Restaurant, shopping and nightlife are okay.

Good, but could be better Guest Rating: 3.3

The La Carmela is a nice hotel in Boracay. It's located near station #2. It's pretty close to all the party bars, but not too close to disrupt those that like to sleep early. It's within a 10 minute walk to D-Mall, which is great for shopping. We did have a bit of trouble as our flight from Manila was canceled due to a typhoon and the hotel would not refund money for one night, instead they offered an extra night at the end of our stay. This is never a good option because most people will have already booked their flights back. Luckily, the price of the hotel is minimal so the money lost wasn't a huge problem, but this shouldn't happen especially since Boracay has season where typhoons occur a few times. Overall, La Carmela is OK, but there are plenty of nicer places, with better accommodations.

On the beach. Has a pool. Great staff.

Rooms are a bit run down, but have comfortable beds.

I stayed in this hotel for 2 nights. My room is on the 3rd floor and it is quiet. Instead of having massage on the beach, you can enjoy massage in your hotel room. It only cost 300 pesso/ hr. You can enjoy privacy and quiet time. The massage quality is good too. If you want to learn diving, I would recommend Fish Eye diving. The shop is in station 1. The coaches are nice and their boat is big and comfortable.

The room is spacious and clean.

The shower water is insufficient and the hot water is not enough and too slow. The view from the balcony is not good.

Couldn't have asked for a better hotel location than this one as my hotel was across the road from one of the best beaches in the world. Overlooking a beautiful blue pool as you walk in, the hotel is a little 'bare bones' but when you're here, you probably won't spend a lot of time in your hotel room. This hotel is great for someone who wants a cheapish hotel in Boracay.

Great location, the staff were helpful and the hotel was great for the price. Transferring to Boracay from Caticlan was made really easy by this hotel.

Couldn't charge things to the room account. Providing beach towels would be great.

Very flexible... Guest Rating: 3.5

My flight to Caticlan was canceled due to bad weather and La Camela allowed me to postpone my booking to the following day without any extra charge. The hotel location is in front of the beach and also close to d-Mall. I will come back again.

The management is flexible and staffs are friendly. Good location at front beach.

The heater does not work properly as the hot water come in spasms. The water flow is too weak.

  • Shopping Tip : d-mall has many choices of restaurant and d-talipapa is wet market for someone who would like to buy and cook for himself.

It was cheap rate (low season), so basically you get what you pay for, but in high season you will get not satisfied with the rate/quality. Location is very good, walking distance from everything.

good location - right on the beach. TV cable & air con.

too noisy! you practically hear everything in the hotel, so forget to sleep until late.

  • Shopping Tip : bargain everything, starting from the taxi.
