best place on Boracay no doubt.

there are non really worth mentioning, seriously.

OK this was my 7th time on Boracay. I love this place because I live in Florida and this is the closest to home. Instead of staying in Manila for 2 or 3 weeks on my visit here to see my wife, for less money I can go to Boracay and stay. I'm in Manila right now for the past few days and already I miss Bora and the strand hotel so much. Me and my wife both love it there. If you go to the beach at sunset, its always a beautiful site and this kinda eerie mystical silence overcomes you, kinda like if you put on ear muffs. You feel so at ease and for a few moments you forget about the world and all the problems , just for a few momments. Thats the real hidden attraction of Boracay, it mommentarilly transports you to Heaven. And what adds to it is the Strand. If you really want to enjoy your time on Boracay, stay here. You will not go wrong. The pool is excellent, close to beach, close to tricycle stand, away from nuisence street peddlars, great food, great free breakfast. The staff is so nice. free internet wifi. Nice areas to sit and enjoy the breeze . Trust me, I will guarentee you will have great time here and when your vacation is over you will leave knowing you had the best and already planning your next visit to come back to this hotel. Read some of my other reviews of this Hotel. I've stayed in several other places on Boracay over the years and this is by far the best.

Restaurant Tip : don't eat at BUG'S GRILLE , its a buffet on the beach next to D Mall. I got food poisoning there from bad clams. The Strand is excellent place to eat, they have a lovely menu and make everything fresh for you, also, Rumba's(its between Cindy's and Hobbit House) in D Mall is good, Andok's , yellow cab pizza, Shakey's, and now they have a new Pancake House in D Mall, thats an old chain restaurant from the States that you dont see often anymore, its kinda like IHOP. Go to the Talipapa for shopping, its close to DMall. Tell trike driver to take you to talipapa, you will love it. I bought a REAL pair of croc's for 350p and a REAL reebok duffel bag for 350p. I always go there for room snacks and tee shirts etc etc. DMall cost more. Also if you turn right or left from Strand entrance gates, you can go to local sari sari stores and buy just about anything you need. If you go left, walk up past cemetery on the left and there is a huge sari sari store, they even sell tee shirts 2 for 140p same as everywhere else. Its close just past cemetery like 3 mins by foot. And don't be afraid here, all the local people and kids who live around the hotel area are very nice.

Swimming pool, clean room, comfortable bed, food, staff and location.

no cons at all

Ok so if you read the other reviews for this hotel you can see I stayed here many times before. Let me just say this. If I return to a place even 1 time, then you can bet your life its a good place. When it comes to sleeping and being safe I am not a cheapskate so you know Im not comming back here time after time because its cheap, however, the hotel is reasonably priced and well worth the rate. This is truly a excellent hotel/resort type place. You can actually stay here 24 hous a day and never leave or go to white beach and still be happy. The pool is so nice, the food here at the hotel is so good, the staff who work here are so nice and trustworthy. The room is always clean, nice towels, bed is really good, airconditioner is ice cold, ceiling fan above bed is great. The shower is excellent and roomy. Nice high water pressure and hot water. The hotel is located on the northern most part of white beach. Its nice here because not too many street/beach vendors doing too much makulit to you. If your going to Boracay and really want to enjoy yourself and be safe and have no worries, then choose the Strand. You wont regret it.

Hotel Feature Tip : If you have a family this place has some really nice large family rooms. This is an excellent place for couples like me and my wife or for families of many kids. Also don't eat at BUG'S GRILLE , its a buffet on the beach next to D Mall. I got food poisoning there. The hotel is excellent place to eat, also, Rumba's in D Mall is good, Andok's , yellow cab pizza, Shakey's, and now they have a new Pancake House in D Mall, thats an old chain restaurant from the States that you dont see often anymore, its kinda like IHOP.

nice quiet area of Boracay

None

Again I'm here at the Strand, I been here many times. Me and my wife are the only people here. Still they make us feel like royalty. I don't understand why this place is not more busy. I been to Boracay 7 times for vacation. I'm not an expert, but This place, The Strand, for the money is the best place. They give you a free breakfast, and its not that buffet crap, its cooked to order for you. The rooms have working ceiling fan above the beds, the Airconditioners put out ice cold air, the room is spotless. You can eat off the floor here. The bathroom is the best, just as good as my house back in the states, well almost, I live in a 300,000 dollar home lol, but its close, the shower is great. Water pressure is excellent and plenty of continuous hot water. This hotel is only 4 mins walk to the white beach sand, you can see the beach from the hotel. The area is extremely safe. I dont even lock my room sometimes, its not needed. The people here , you can trust them with your life. Here is a tip to get a cheaper rate, book 3 days at a time on Agoda. That is a steal for this place. Oh and the pool here is superb, they soften the water with a salt based water softner. Excellent idea and after a nice swim you feel like a million dollars. If you dont stay here your a fool, sorry Im just being honest.

Restaurant Tip : don't eat at bug's grill. Oh rumba's inside dmall next to hobbit house is a good place. Very nice and traditional anglo and filipino food.

quiet and romantic

none

This is a great place, maybe even the best place to stay in the entire Philippines, I am not kidding. The staff/hotel workers are the nicest people you will meet. Its close enough to everything especially if you enjoy a nice walk on the beach to go to the heart of White beach business district like D Mall, etc etc.. Actually your better off not staying in that area because the street vendors are horrible and harass you to death. The Hotel is not right on the beach but its like 3 mins walk away. There is a trike area just as u reach the beach so if you dont feel like walking down to D Mall area etc etc, you can get a ride there for like 50 to 100 peso depending on where you go. The Hotel breakfast is really nice and dinner too. Dinner was very reasonable price and excellent quality. The room is nice and clean, airconditioner and ceiling fan froze me out. I had to put a/c unit on low most times. Anyway, anybody who wants to enjoy themselves on Boracay without all the hassles must stay here, its that simple.

Shopping Tip : Go to the Talipapa to buy anything, don't buy at D Mall. Just browse at D Mall then go buy same thing at Talipapa for less.

Facilities, staff/service, location, location, location.

As far the hotel and people, nothing. I just hope they can settle the land ownership with the government. Shame on you Philippine government!

Great location - away from the Mall/station 2 - but still very accessible to the beach - at the far end of station 1. Great place to relax after any activities. You can also do a little hike at the back and see a great ocean view. Breakfast is served anywhere you like - we had ours almost everyday by the pool - always delicious and w/ freshly brewed coffee and fruits! The staff were nice and very helpful. They even brought us by the pier at 4:30 am, gratis, to catch our ferry for Catiklan. The pool is a welcome respite from the beach. If ever I go back to Boracay, will not hesitate staying here again.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Boracay is more than the beach in stations 1 to 3. Explore the other beaches. At the hotel, go up the hill and you will be rewarded with a great view. Walk along the beach on your right - less crowd and nice view. Instead of taking tricycles to go to the mall or station 2, walk along the beach - great exercise and view.

This is the place to stay to be away from the crowds when you want to be. D mall is 100 piso's away by trike. A lot of locals live by the hotel, so go to the bodegas and buy a San Mig!!

Very good hotel, with a nice design in a quiet area of Boracay. Staff smiles and is very helpful. We were in a One Bedroom Suite, on the first floor (the best) with a great view on the smimming pool. Room service works perfectly so we enjoyed a lot of time on our private terrace! The area is not central, but the Diniwid Beach is literaly 2 min walk from the hotel. You also can have a cocktail or eat on the beach, thanks to the "Boracay Terraces Hotel" which is located on the Diniwid beach. To go to the "city centre" or to the main White Beach area, you can walk along the beach (very nice, it takes more or less 20min) or you can take a local taxi (motorbike with side-car), near the Boracay Terraces, or up on the main road. If you take a taxi just for yourself (near the beach or on the main road) don't pay more than 80 pesos (price per taxi, not per person, to go to D'Mall)! If you take a collective taxi (hand up on the main road), you can pay maximum 20 pesos and it's more fun. (9 persons can fit in a taxi!). You just tell where you want to go. To go back to the hotel, ask for the Boracay Terraces if they don't know The Strand. And if you want to dive, go to Victory Divers. To summarize, we had a great time in this hotel, and we will defenetly go back!

Travel tip : - Victory Divers to dive
- All the sailing boat that gather on the main White Beach when the sun goes down
- Lemon Cafe in D'Mall: great great great!!!

Pool is very Zan / room ㄧ kind of small and clean / good location (quiet and away from the S3 white sand beach walk 2 minutes) / hotel service is very polite and elegant intimate

Free WIFI Internet connection has problems, but everyone wants to go to BORACAY play, WIFI Internet is like not so important! There is a cemetery behind the hotel, I was not world views, but the community of people preferred to think about oh.

This is my second visit to the hotel, attracting me to go back to the reason that she is very comfortable. Whether the room, swimming pool, a small woodland garden, everything is comfortable, at ease, and when I stepped into the door of the moment, the hotel staff a warm "Welcome Back", made me feel like coming home. Now she has also expanded to another pool, is expected to be completed before the 2009 season, when the time there are three pools of. In addition to these advantages, she's super delicious breakfast, the weather was good when eating breakfast at the pool, the atmosphere is very stick. Of course, the overall price point of view, she is super attractive. Recommended to all like "home" feeling of the passengers, she would be your second home!

Hotel Feature Tip : From the D-Mall motorized taxi ride to the hotel, a person can talk the price down to 20p (or less). To go to D-Mall can be reached then the main road outside the alley, a person can bargain to 20p (or less). The hotel to the S3 white sand beach walk 2 minutes along the beach walk to the D-Mall is about 25 ~ 30 minutes.
