I was given a deluxe room with a balcony that got a nice view of the pool. The room got nice amenities and appliances including a kitchenette with complimentary tea or coffee to choose from. There were no bathrobes as in the showroom though and room had a moldy smell, must be from the abaca installed on the mirrors, headboards and tables, but the problem was solved when I called housekeeping. Even though I'd checked in past 9 p.m. , the housekeeping boy came with the disinfecting floral spray. The hotel's staff were friendly and accomodating. This would make a great hotel for long term traveller.

it was a nice hotel to stay away from the crowd and noise of the downtown/center (d*mall). if you are looking for a quiet area in the island, this hotel is the right place for you. only you will not be allowed to swim in their swimming pool if you are wearing cotton type short (as what they say) which ruined my entire stay in the hotel (6 nights). the buffet during breakfast was ok and their staff in the restaurant was accommodating and pro active. just be careful not to break anything as it will be charged on you / per piece basis :)they have a nice hourly shuttle going to&pro d*mall / hotel or to puka beach (advise to visit)
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Be careful of tourist guides' prices who are offering their services showing photos of the activities to be done. make sure to asked them directly half of the price or lesser of their asking rate as you may even get lower.

NIce View Terrible Service And Bugs in the rooms

Wanted to stay someplace nice while my girlfriend was sick so chose here but when we Checked in and noticed that we a really bad ant problem.... In the beds and basically anywhere you'd set clothes. We then called the front desk to change rooms but they insisted that they come check the ant problem out for there selves before they would move us which was alittle irritating.. then about 30 minutes later we moved down the hall to the next room where the tv remote was broke, no clean towels in the room and when we pulled up the bed sheets we noticed that they were dirty and had not been changed.. So then after we had called down to get them changed we had asked to speak to the manager in the morning. When we woke we called to talk to the manager about the inconvience and i had told him our situation about my girlfriend being sick with fever and all the problems we had incountered so far within the first 24 hours and all he could offer us was 2 2hour free wifi cards... What a joke!! 4 star hotel??? yea right.. never staying here again

this is a great hotel for the price. the rooms are spacious and clean. the breakfast buffet is just okay but there is a microwave and refridgerator in the room for any snacks that you may have bought with you. free shuttle to d*mall is a plus.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
if you ask to go to the bulabog beach the hotel staff might suggest paying for transportation or getting dropped off at d*mall and taking a petty cab...neither one of those is needed as bulabog beach is almost directly across the street from the d*mall drop off point. you can walk there with no problems so don't spend your money on the transport.

Decent for what it was

cons.: packed packed packed with chinese group tours. some of the buildings are far away from the entrance and the only way to get there is to walk. tricycle cabs are not allowed up the hill to the hotel, so you have to walk up the hill when they drop you off.

The staff is accommodating and helpful. The rooms also have utensils for us to eat in the room. However, the place is a little old. It's a little detached from the town, but it will appeal to people who like the quiet.

note that there is a ride up to the hotel near station 2. Look for the convenience stall/supermarket, pickup is every hour, on the dot.

I must say my stay in Alta Vista was both pleasurable and disappointing at the same time. the place was awesome. the ambience and the view fromin and out of the infinity pool was excellent. the rooms were very spacious and I also like that each room had a balcony. with all these, your probably thinking what's disappointing while it sounds like the place was really great?!? it's theire service that brings down this place's rating. checking in was already terrible. we had to stay in the lobby for more than 30 minutes before they gave us our room keys. and after giving out instructions on who's gonna stay on which room, they still ended up assigning the rooms incorrectly. i mean it's as if their receptionists were not listening. staff were not very accomodating as well. i mean you would at least expect from a place like this that the staff would be very courteous and accomodating. the shuttle drivers were the only ones who were friendly. to cap it all off, the worst thing that happened on this trip to alta vista, was they could not issue any official receipt upon check out inspite of the fact that i was adamantly requesting for it. they said i needed to get if from agoda but they could not even provide me agoda's number. they did not even issue some sort of a check out paper or something. all the nice experience went down the drain.

the total experience was pretty much okay. the staff need a little bit of improvement. food doesn't taste good as they appear to be. none the less everything that was not mentioned was awesome.

room accommodation was very nice. you don't need to squeeze yourself in the room because its spacious. you just need to be able to climb up, rooms are located up hill and below from the front desk lobby.
