Perfect for a budgeted trip.
Room, housekeeping and staff
9.3
Had a good sleep. No mosquitoes and cockroaches for a cheap room. Very friendly and helpful staff. Beachfront, near (walking distance only) restaurants, bars and clubs and shopping areas. Had a good holiday in this hotel :) I will stay here again in the future if I'm still alive :D

Comfortable, clean, and stress free staff
Comfortable room, friendly staff, good breakfast
6.7
We were satisfied. The room was clean and comfortable. We especially found the balcony cute with its small table. Too bad we didn't stay long (time constraint) and try having a meal there at the balcony. The staffs always had a ready smile for us. It was a friendly place.

value for money
location, good beach, friendly stuff
6.3
i stayed 7 days. the weather was hot and sunny for most of the days. you can walk around the beach as long as you want. and find some nice shade to lye down. white sand beach is facing west so in the morning there is good shade and very confortable. but in the afternoon the sunshine is unbearable. i always take nap in the room after lunch.

Great Hotel if You're Looking for Simplicity
(1) Friendly staff, (2) Large rooms, (3) Security
8
My stay at La Isla Bonita was positive, with one caveat. First, some positive points: the staff was very friendly and funny, and the room I stayed in was huge with high ceilings and very clean. Second, negative points: the bathroom was dated and the water heater didn't work, and the bed wasn't very good (but not the worst I've experienced).
Next, I want to clear some things up because before I stayed here I read other reviews claiming that the staff tries to 'nickel and dime' you and that the security is questionable. I totally disagree with these statements. They didn't try to persuade me to buy their hotel safe service. And since their lobby is staffed 24/7 and is located at the entrance and door locks sturdy, I felt like security was quite good. So I didn't feel the need to use their safe and didn't purchase that service. Inside the room there is a stocked mini-fridge with snack items for sale, but this is standard practice in hotels. And you can still use the fridge for personal items so it's still a benefit. Lastly, I want to mention that my room was decorated with some Christian items, like framed art of Mary and baby Jesus and some rosaries. Personally, I felt like that was strange and it bothered me slightly, but I didn't make a big deal about it. For some people, this might be significant though.
The location will be good or bad depending on what you're looking for. It's located in station 3 and far from the action (about 20 minutes walk). Here, I'm referring to the shopping areas and party areas. There are still some restaurants and shops right by the hotel. For me, the location was inconvenient because every night I had to walk all the way to station 1 to party and then all the way back to station 3 to get back to the hotel. For for others, this may be exactly what you're looking for--if you want a quiet place across from the beach this is perfect. And if you walk just 5 minutes past station 3 you can really get away from all the crowds.

Uncomfortable
Cheap but not value for money,
3.3
Would not stay on this hotel again. Aircon take a while to cool the room and at night can get too cold because aircon facing the bed and too close. Balcony has a separate door but found it unlock several times even after telling cleaners to keep it locked (balcony near stairway so can be easily access). No proper security. Rooms keys kept near reception but at times unattended and anyone can pick up any room keys from the key basket.

Good value for the price
Beach front, close to restaurant and bars, but it is quiet in the room during the night
7.7
My room was on the second floor,it is quite spacious , and quiet in the night though bars with live music are just 50meters away. The breakfast is ok but not so delicious, only acceptable . In general, it is a good hotel fr the price ,the only disadvantage is that the shower has too less spray

location was far from station 2 where the cool places are but near to station 3. i was able to check the station 3 its nice for swimming, not much green algae in the area.
in front of the hotel have few sunloungers but not a good place for sunbathing because people is everywhere for paraw sailing, island hopping drop on and off... just a room to stay... aircon not working well
hoped management will fix it :(.their balcony area is good for relaxation and coffee in the morning. i used it to hang my wet clothes hahaha...

No elevator, hard on my arthritic knees on 2nd floor. Room nice and comfortable. Controls for shower hot water installed way too high, could barely reach them tip-toed.
Hotel Feature Tip:
Free wifi sucks, only works well n office.
