Friendly atmosphere, and great food, served buffet style. Two nights they had live music by a really talanted duo. Easy Jeepney trip to the center of town, and the resort is within walking distance to a nice mall. You can't bring outside food or drink. Outside lounge chairs show their age. The overall experience is exactly what you would expect of a luxury resort, without the large cost. We had a large room with twin beds that the staff transformed into a great king sized bed.The two swimming pools were clean and refreshing, with a jacquezi,and water slide. Everything is on the luxurious side, with a well trained, and friendly staff. Very nice for the kids, also, with a play area with equipment.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Make sure u bring toilet paper when you go sightseeing. Most toilet arrangements are pretty primitive, and paper is almost non existant.

Situated on a good sized site on the periphary of the City . Excellent staff and service . For the most part very tired and outdated . Having stayed a year ago at the excellent sister Almont Hotel in the city plaza, I was very disapointed with the Almont Inland Resort .
It's situated on a pleasant medium sized plot about five minutes ride from the City but the whole atmosphere is one of decay and tiredness with the standard rooms in severe need of upgrading, they are very gloomy and small .
12' TV, ghastly tiny shower rooms and mostly a longish walk from reception with badly lit and uneven pathways. The food is very average indeed and flies are a constant nuisance, no tonic water in the hotel either !
The pools require repainting and the grounds are mostly lacking in grass or covered in stones . However the WiFi in the bar area was excellent and the superior rooms looked okay, in reality the standard rooms should be of that quality . This could be so much better if the owners got a grip and invested some money !
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : With great difficulty I independently hired a small private boat for a trip up the Agusan River . A good experience . Not much else to do in Butuan !

The price, room service and accommodation. The reception staff needs more training with dealing with pre-booked accommodations. The last day was the pitfall when they almost charged me my entire room bill which was prepaid here in the US. He could not understand that when a room is pre-booked/prepaid they should not bill me again for the rooms unless if I have additional charges such as food, etc...The guy was still trying to convert the peso to dollars according to how much is owed until he understood later that the rooms were prepaid. Also, they failed to inform me about the hours for the airport transfer when I specifically told them about my flight the day before. We ended up taking the taxi unnecessarily. Other than that, the resort is is really nice.
