Value for money (I think one of the best hotel in its price category). A bit old building but well maintained and clean. This comments is based on my total 12 nights stay with three different hotel categories: budget , middle range, and the pricy ones. Overall I was satisfied with the variety of hotels I stayed for 4 nights each in three categories. Cebu grand for me is the middle range, good size room, good buffet breakfast although the selection is limited. Friendly and accommodating staff like the other hotels I stayed. I would say that Cebu grand hotel is one of the best in its price category, safe and quite location, clean but older building, room size is big compared to the newer hotels, location is close to Ayala (40 pesos by taxi and availability of taxi is good, good security staff. If you like a more quite location but close to everything, then Cebu Grand is one of the best in its price range.
Travel tip : Ayala shopping mall which is one of the best shopping mall because its not crowded, everything is available including fine dining and the best rates to change foreign currency.

Staff at the Cebu Grand were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great. Room was a bit noisy and very, very warm. I paid for two nights at the Cebu Grand Hotel. Even though it was too late to get a refund from Agota, I left after the first night. While the staff were friendly enough, my room in the front of the hotel was just too hot and noisy. The AC in the room only operates when key is inserted and can't begin to cool the room down. I don't like a cold room and usually am satisfied with open windows but it was too noisy to leave the windows open.
Hotel Feature Tip : I was there off season in Oct. I would hate to think how it is in summer months. Ask for a room off the front.

This hotel provided a fairly decent variety at breakfast. Staff was helpful.
These were the only positive things about my stay there.
Location good if you want to be in Cebu City. This hotel is in need of serious upgrades. The water pressure in the shower was poor, air conditioner in the rooms were noisy and there is no free internet.
Tiled bathroom is a tripping hazard. I won't stay here again. Take away the helpful staff and this would be a nightmare.

big room and good location near to most entertainment area casino,pubs and shopping it can be nosey during weekend night if someone throw a party behind the hotel friendly and helpful staffs,walking distance to a macdonal nearby ,takes about 20mins to beach by car

The hotel was ok..nothing exciting I can say except for the staff was pretty nice. I ask for non smoking room but the room they provided smells like cegarettes so it's a little hard to breath..and overlooked the window from my room was a construction site that creates a lot of noise.. the hotel was pretty old. Need to be updated. the Gym has a very old equipment that I haven't seen before. The Pool is dirty..They provided breakfast every morning which is good but they need more verity on the food selections and not serve the same menu everyday. The bathroom was very small and a little dirty so I have to wear my sandals all the time when I take a shower.
Over all the hotel is good for what you paid for..

Friendly staff, Good location, Value for Money A bit tired round the edges The Cebu Grand Hotel is located in a central area of Cebu City, not far from Fuente Osmena and the Ayala Shopping Mall (which is amazing now with modern restaurants and bars).
The staff at the Grand are friendly and will cater to individual requirements.
The buffet breakfast is average with fresh fruit and coffee and toast and eggs cooked to order. Not lavish but just right.
The hotel also features a bar and a swimming pool on the roof.
Rooms are large with plenty of room for one double and one single bed, fridge/minibar, tv, table and chairs. The en-suite bathrooms feature shower and/or bathtub.
The only criticism is that the Grand is a bit tired looking round the edges and could do with some refurbishment, which it seems to be getting. Some rooms were clearly in the process of a paint-job and a refit so maybe these rooms are available on request.
But the Grand offers superior value for money over other options in the city.
Restaurant Tip : The Ayala Shopping mall now (2009) features a huge outdoor garden area with water features and lush vegetation. This is surrounded by dozens of great restaurants of all tastes, coffee shops and bars. Really quite impressive for Cebu and the Philippines.

Value for money, large rooms, good service, cable TV The Cebu Grand Hotel is a nice hotel if you are on a budget. The rooms are a bit old but still clean. The rooms are very large, and have cable TV, phone and fridge. The breakfast was OK but don't expect anything great. It's really not impressive, but it does the job if you are hungry and included in your room's price. I suggest that you wake up a bit early so that there is still food left in the buffet! (only 3 choices of dishes anyway). The location is not bad too, I wouldn't walk around too much in the area, but that would be the same for the whole of Cebu. Cebu is really a third world city so it's not that great for a walk anyway, and seems a bit dangerous to go around at night. Anyway taxis are very cheap, the shopping mall(istana or something) is only a few minutes by car and it will cost you around 45 pesos which is really cheap. There is also a Mcdonald just next to the hotel, and walking to the center takes less than 10mn. The staff was also kind and helpful, I would stay there again
Shopping Tip : The istana shopping center is very big, it has a huge amount of cafes and restaurants, as well as shops and a cinema.

Very friendly staff and nice pool The standard room I had was big, and very clean and modern. The pool was very nice. The breakfast buffet was pretty good with omlets and the staff was the most friendly I had ever met. The location was very quiet too. I would definately stay here again.

Large Rooms, quiet off street location . Booking through Agoda you get a great room rate Renovations going on in restaurant, but Im sure they will be completed soon. Stayed for 3 nights the room was spacious and comfortable, very clean. Staff were nice and attentive, Breakfast was much nicer on the days when they had it by the pool,instead of in one of the reception rooms.Hotel is not located near any decent shopping or entertainment, so you must take a taxi to get anywhere decent. Location is off street, annd quiet, you do not get hasssled by vendors or street people when you step outside, which is is a bonus.

Room was good, clean and spacious. Hard to get taxi sometimes. Not a great selection of food during breakfast. The hotel is well located in the city and it is just a short distance to Ayala Mall and some of the sights in the city. The staff were polite and helpful. The facilities are well maintained. The housekeeping staff also do their jobs well. All in all, the stay at Cebu Grand Hotel was a pleasant experience.

The room was very spacious. The staff was very friendly and helpful, especially the bellboy/doorman Darius. Room was well equipped with small refrigerator; TV, hot water, A/C. Only 2 that I can think of. It would have been nice to have hot water in the sink for shaving. It would have also been nice to have an in-room safe. I had thought that this hotel was within walking distance of interesting things to see. That proved to not be the case. But for me, the truth is that there is very little of interest in Cebu. When I arrived at the hotel I was quickly greeted by the smiling face of Darius, the bellboy/doorman. Check-in was easy & smooth. Darius took me and my luggage to my room and showed me how everything operated. The room was quite spacious with a queen bed and a single bed and was nicely furnished. The staff was very quick to get a taxi whenever I needed and would have me wait at the door for the taxi. After buying water and sodas I walked back to the hotel and Darius was quick to carry my heavy bag to my room.

Stayed in Deluxe room, good size room and have 2 beds, staff were friendly. The Lobby of the Hotel was under rennovation when we stayed their in March 21 to 23 2009, the rooms were a good size but needs a bit of a lift as it is looking old. Breakfast selection was very poor and the coffee shop closed early so when we checked in at 8:30pm there was no where to eat dinner we have to go to McDonalds for dinner as there was no restaurant close by insight. You get what you paid for, I choose this hotel because it offers 2 beds in the room which we need as I have my family with me. As mentioned good size rooms but needs a bit of prettying up as it is very plain and getting old. Breakfast selection was very limited and the coffee shop closes early, location is out of the way but there are plenty of taxi outside. I'd stay there again if I need the two beds for the family. If you like the nightlife and restaurant dont stay at this hotel as I haven't seen any around.

Good price for what you get.
Good Breakfast selection that's inclusive
Large air conditioned room.
Helpful and polite staff.
Nice location in Cebu city. was under renovation when i checked in, but didn't hear much of the noise.
their "gym" is kinda a joke - equipment is broken and may be dangerous to use.
Swimming pool is small, does have a weird color - but didn't try it.
Rooms and furniture are a little dated, but no weird odors.
Hot water really isn't hot all the time.
You have to bug the staff a bit to fix problems with maintenance
Overall, I would say this is a good deal if through Agoda. It isn't equal in quality to the higher end hotels, but for your money your getting a clean, safe place to sleep. I would not hesitate to use this hotel again in I'm in the area. The only thing that I use this hotel is to sleep and get a quick shower, otherwise I was somewhere else. If you plan to use the hotel for it's pool or gym, I probably would look elsewhere.

There is in old downtown. But it's near downtown of cebu city. but hotel is too old and somewhat not satisfied.
Nightlife Tip : If you can use taxi, you can go anywhere in cebu city.( But almost taxi driver don't speak English well. So you have to decide somewhere before you move.)
Complementary water has been supplied only 1 time. If you want more water , I recommend that you use convenience store beside the gas station. It's within 1 minute distance.
