actually white sands is a nice place for relax, although beach are small, but swimming pool still great! and those are good service, maribago is a good place for vacation, and their rooms are big and feels good! and you can have wedding party at there too! you can book some activities there!

A Very Pleasant Stay

I was pleasantly surprised to find a very nice place on this part of Mactan island. Our stay was very comfortable. Unlike most big resort hotels, the place was quiet and very relaxing. The room was clean. The staff were very courteous and helpful. The food was delicious. I would definitely return and spend more time in this place again.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
From the hotel you can take a short boat ride to the nearby islands to swim with and feed the fish, snorkel or dive, or just take in the sights. Ask the hotel staff for assistance in getting a boat and gear. They will be more than happy to help you.

White Sands Review

I enjoyed the staff at White Sands as they were friendly and willing to help as much as possible. The grounds and pools were lovely and there was always someone maintaining the lawns, ect. The beach was small and the locals constantly harass you about island hopping so I was not happy with the beach area. We ate lunch at the outside bar and the portions were very small. The prices for drinks, ect. were of good value, however. I felt the rooms were that of a 2 star ants in the sink, no comforters on the bed, musty smell in the room, and the bathrooms need updating. The hotel should provide bottle water every day and not just on the first day of arriving. Our room was cleaned promptly in the am usually while we ate breakfast which was very nice.
Restaurant Tip:
Maribago grill is walking distance from the hotel. The food was ok but he atmosphere was really nice. You sit in small bungalows off the ground sort of like a tree house.

but the pressure of the tap water in the room is low and it took around 50 minutes to fill up the bath tub.

Generally, i like this hotel rather then others in the city. It is because we did enjoy the stay in white sand. We love the the breakfast under the beautiful sun raise.

Very nice stay
For the most part it was all a pleasant experience. The grounds are well maintained, rooms clean and roomy. Swimming pool was large and had room for all classes of swimmers. Buffet breakfast was quite adequate and service was good.

Overall the stay is a pleasant one. Reviews I had read prior to our stay complained about having trouble getting a taxi. We found that the trouble is if you ask at the desk they call the guard and depending on his workload and his willingness to leave his shack is how successful will your effort. We found that if you just walk the short distance to the road there are many taxis passing by and at most times even some waiting near the entrance. A word about Cebu taxis. Especially on Mactan Island they do not like to use their meters. If you are going somewhere on the island the trip will be too short for them to make any money. Likewise, if you are going to Cebu City the trip is too long. Be prepared to negotiate BEFORE you get in. As mentioned above the prices in the hotel restaurant are high. Leaving the gate turn right and follow the road around the curve to the left to the Maribago Grill. Good food and friendly setting.

Nice GF getaway
many pools, pool areas, rooms are spread out giving lots of privacy considering the size of the property. this a getaway from the hustle of Metro Cebu

Before arriving at this hotel, I stayed in Cebu City for 3 nights, and what a relief!!! Although the nearby "resorts" left something to envy (nicer beaches, larger property) this hotel was cozy, comfortable and afforded some sense of privacy. It was small enough to feel at ease and not deal with pretentiousness, but operated with the professionality of a 5 star hotel. This is a perfect getaway for a GF weekend or a small family on a budget.
Nightlife Tip:
Get your nightlife fix in Metro Cebu BEFORE you get here, this place is really for "getting" away and relaxing. If you do want to go out at night, in M.Cebu, expect a 30-60 minute cab ride. If you want to sightsee Cebu's major attractions, better to say in Cebu City for a few nights/days.

The thing that I like most about White Sands is the friendly staff. The front desk service, the waiting staff, and even the room-service and groundskeeping crews were all very polite and helpful. Secondly, the two pools are a great place to lay around and get some sun. Finally, the landscaping and the general atmospher of the place make it a comfortable stay. The rooms are comfortable enough but seem a bit old. I also had a problem with ants in the bathroom. While it's convenient to order food right there at the resort, I recommend finding some other place for lunch and dinner (breakfast is free). The quality of the food isn't that great and the choices are limited.

Staying at Cebu White Sands at Maribago Bay Hotel is quite an experience. It is indeed a very good place if one choose to relax after a tiring days of travel and tourist activities. I like best the two swimmingpools. The location of the hotel is very good. It is very close to the airport. I also like the breakfast food variation.
