This hotel is always fully booked that I assume Diplomat has no time to fix whatever needs to be fixed in the room like a loose porcelain tile on the floor, scrub off the black stains in the shower, simply replace plastic shower curtain. The staff is excellent. I would stay here again if Diplomat can maintain there rooms to a 3 star level.

i knew not a top class hotel but i booked as convenient location for what i needed to do and was just 1 night.
whilst i am smoker room smelt very bad !! internet was good but needed pay for using !! bed was comfortable and shower good !!
over all for a old hotel service was good !!

great location, convenient, affordable price, very accommodating and honest staff.

We find our stay at the hotel very relaxing and very peaceful place. We wanted to stay a few more days, but we have scheduled appointments. Next time we visit Cebu, we will surely stay at Diplomat. no problem with regards to transportation.taxis are always available.

Nice hotel with clean rooms and great location

Stay was well worth the price. They have clean rooms and the location of the hotel is just about right if you want to be near the central district. Just request for whiter towels if you find yours not white enough. Taxis are available in front of the hotel but I suggest you get one somewhere else (walk away from the hotel for a couple of meters) and have the driver run the meter. Other drivers will offer you fix rate for your destination but it may turn out to be more expensive than metered.
Restaurant Tip:
There are very affordable seafood restaurants near SM Cebu. You really don't need to go to Mactan Shrine which is famous for affordable seafood. Times have changed and they are no longer cheap. Go to A1 restaurant instead or the other resto right beside it for the more affordable seafood. Just don't expect too much on the ambiance.
