A major disappointment. Nice viewand free internet

Nice view and free internet, in-suite kitchen, staff were friendly
5.3
I picked this hotel because it was the only one available for a reasonable price on the beachfront, but the beach area was small and unclean so we were very disappointed. The breakfast was poor and unsatisfactory. We did at least have a nice view and appreciated the free internet. Also, the in-suite kitchen area was handy. We had to go quite far to find any decent restaurants. I'm not usually too hard to please, but this was the only truely disappointing hotel I stayed at on this trip.
Restaurant Tip: There is one very nice restaurant not too far away if you take a jeepney/trike/taxi. You have to turn right as you leave the hotel driveway then about 10 minutes away on the left hand side is the restaurant, Sorry I can't remember the name, but there is (I think) bamboo fence and inside each table is under s small hut. Food was very good.

The best part of the hotel was the staff who worked there. They are exceptionaly friendly, courteous, and worked hard to overcome the hotel's shortcomings. The view from the deluxe suite was postcard perfect and the suite itself was keep immaculately clean by the friendly courteous staff. The main pool and outdoor lounge are well maintained.

The best part of the hotel was the staff who worked there. They were exceptionaly friendly, courteous, and worked hard to overcome the hotel's shortcomings. The view from the deluxe suite was postcard perfect and the suite itself was keep immaculately clean by the friendly courteous staff. Bring your own soap. The pieces they give you are frustratingly small and for a man with big hands like mine, tough to work with as they were constantly slipping through them. The main pool and outdoor lounge are well maintained. Unfortunately, the view was not matched by the beach itself, which was small and retained oil and gas from the many ships harbored there because of a barrier that was not keep cleared of algae. Don't count on swimming in the sea. If you do, were water shoes to avoid sea urchins. Once past the hotel's barrier, the sea became very clear. Locals will come to you to offer a boat ride - negotiate if you are interested. The pool on the roof looked like it had not been working for a long time, so while it was advertised, don't count on it. The restaurant food was good, but overpriced and not competitive with area restaurants, which many are within walking distance. The Maribago Grill, Green Papaya, Jeinin Japanese Restaurant are all within walking distance and recommended. the closest restaurant did not have the same good quality or good portions as the others mentioned but was the closest to EGI. It is located in the public market where cheap and palatable food can also be bought. A favorite spot was Magellan's which has an English Pub type atmosphere, good food reasonably priced and live music on the weekends. It is easily and cheaply ($.25) reached by jeepney, which is a fun experience in itself. A taxi (always insist they put on the meter, regardless of where you go) should run about 110 pesos from the hotel. Points of interest are the Lapu-lapu Shrine, San Pedro Fort, Santa Nono, Megallan's Cross, the Toaois
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: Points of interest are the Lapu-lapu Shrine, San Pedro Fort, Santa Nono, Megallan's Cross, the Toaoist Temple and not to be missed ais the Mt Busay. I strongly recommend hiring the hotel van and its knowledgeable driver, Dondon. He knows the roads, is an excellent driver for the Temple and Mt Busay trips., The other can be done easily by Taxi and should run about 230- 300 Pesos depenmdoing on traffic, and, there is always traffic. Inlcude the breakfaast in your bill. It is well worth it.

Convenient location

Nice outdoor swimming pool, just 15 mins from the airport
5.7
The hotel is conveniently located just 15 minutes drive from the airport. The hotel staff is friendly but when there is a need to fix something it seems to take a while. It took 2 days to fix the lift so we had to walk to the 5th floor which was quite inconvenient, especially with a small baby. The hotel breakfast was quite basic. For lunch or dinner it is better to go outside. There are some nice restaurants within 500m distance (i.e. Maribago Grill, Mr.Ham's).

EGI Hotel

We rented a Deluxe room that the view can have a look of the ocean. It is very impressive the view. Inside the room it has a microwave and a dinnng table, though it doesnt have another utseil and cookware. A jacuzzi besides a shower area is available inside the bathroom. You can walk out to the main street to catch taxi easily instead of asking assistant from Front Desk. WiFi is stable and available inside the room.
9.3
EGI hotel is very new that u can tell there are some rooms still under renovation. It doesnt offer any peak season surcharge so it is quite a good place to rent if you want something affordable and comfortable to live with. The swimming facilities are not very well equipped especially the beach. We can enjoy the pool and it has quite a big pool with 6 feet depth. Also there is a kid pool with slide.
Shopping Tip: The mall close to the hotel called Gaisano Grand Mall only takes about 10 min to arrive. It has money exchange counter, a department store and a supermarket. Quite convenient to shop for souveniors.

good place to stay

good location, staff are friendly
7.7
It is a good location for u to play the water activity. There is a lot of agents next to the hotel's pool to recommend you join there tour or hire there ship. very convenience! If you are going to sight seeing of the cebu city, you have to take a taxi with about 30 mins. I am little bit disappointed with the breakfast buffet with limited choice.

Friendly Hotel by the Sea

Friendly staff, clean rooms, nice swimming pool and beach front.
9.3
I am truly grateful of my decision to stay at EGI Hotel and Resort. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The room we stayed at is spacious and clean. I particularly liked the big bathroom with big tub. There is a kitchenette wherein you can use the microwave oven and a fridge. WiFi service is available inside your room. Nice terrace overlooking the whole resort and it's neighboring hotels and resorts. I would definitely recommend EGI to my friends.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: Walking distance to Mactan Aquarium. Entrance Fee... Php100.

EGI Cebu

Spacious room with kitchenette and seaview balcony. Nice relaxing pool area.
7.3
I was looking for a hotel to spend a vacation with my girlfriend, I chose this hotel based on price, location and amenities, and I wasn't disappointed. Generally I found the hotel and staff to be excellent. There was ongoing maintenance in one of the ground level pools as well as the rooftop pool, and building works to a new swimming pool on site, though none of this caused any disruption to our stay. Some problems with the electronic door locks, though this only required a visit to reception to re-code the keycard. Initially I booked for 9 nights, but decided to to extend for an additional 4 nights, though this proved a little costly as the rate charged was higher than the agoda booked stay. Personally I would struggle to find any serious cons as to staying here again and would recommend it to those on a budget.
Travel tip: Off site restaurant 5 min walk down the road, or alternatively try Grand Mall 10 mins by trike.

Luxury In The Making

This place is almost brand new. It is very quiet. Private beach and big swimming pool. But the number one asset is the staff. First class all the way
9.7
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the EGI. The staff is very professional and courteous. The rooms are large and luxurious and the price is very very reasonable. When we stayed at the EGI there were not many people so it seemed as if we had the whole run of the place. It is close to the local market and convience stores and taxis and jeepneys are easy to come by. I titled my review luxury in the making because once this place is complete (if it ever gets completed) it will rival any of the resorts nearby. I am definitely staying again when I return in May. They have great long term rates. So if you want luxury for a small price and dont mind maintenance men this is the place for you!!
Shopping Tip: Treat yourself to a massage right down the street for about $11 US Dollars. WOW
