great except for the street junction flooding

Strongly recommends for a more friendly muslim guest environment such as:
1 - By putting indications on the west direction inside the room to facilitate easy orientation during prayer time
2 - To equip toilet with washing facilities such as small pail or water taps with flexible hoses as the muslim guest uses water to do a proper washing rather than just using a tissue paper
3 - To provide complimentary mineral drinking water on first check-in & portable water heater facilities

Very cheap and nice rooms

We got in around 1 AM so there was no point paying for a nice resort. So we looked for a cheap motel around the Mactan airport. When we got to the airport, we took a taxi to the motel. The taxi driver had a hard time finding the place. It must be new.
We got there late night and the allies looked dark but when we got to the motel, we could tell that it was recently built.
The inside of the hotel was dark and quiet but the room was clean and nice. My sink didn't drain well but the bathrooms were pretty clean.

I had a hassle free stay at Express Inn. The hotel was clean, the price was fair enough. What I do not like is the location of the hotel. It is very far from a convenience store or a mall (if you have to walk). Over all, my experience in this hotel was great.

I only stayed for one night at this hotel.Check in was very easy, although we arrived at 2 or 3 in the morning. This is definitely a one or two night hotel and location. I had a single room. The room was very small, with just enough space for a bed and the bathroom. This is not a hotel room for your to lounge around it. The purpose of these rooms is to sleep and nothing more.
The pillowcase smelled like smoke and there was a clothing tag in the bed. The bed's sheets clearly had not been cleaned. The sheets made my skin itch. Also in the bathroom, there was an opened toothbrush/toothpaste pack. Th toothbrush has been used. The water was cold, no hot water. The restaurant downstairs has decent food.
The woman at the front desk had someone drop us to the ferry to Bohol for 500 Pesos. We later learned that was a rip off. Many of these hotels have relationships with local people and have them drive foreigners to locations and overcharge them. Do more research on more common ways of transporation and at least for your first couple of days try to see what available around you. At least in the Philippines, it seems like you can always bargain with your driver for a price

A good place to stay in cebu

Nice place, good distance from the airport. Receptionist is very nice and accommodating. They give timely service. Rates are reasonable even if we have to extend our stay for a few hours.

i enjoyed my stay in express inn lapu lapu. the room is clean, and it has a cafe at the ground floor. the service was good and i had no hassles when i requested some services from them. the only bad thing about this hotel is the location. i think it is unsafe if you just walk around the hotel. you need to hail a cab or a trike to get to a nearby pharmacy or convenience store. overall, it is a nice place to stay if you are having meetings in lapu lapu city.

I took superior room which was very cheap compare to another hotels. We landed at 2 AM and taxi drove as in ~15 mins to hotel, this is pro. Hotel is not for long stay with family, it lacks of infrastructure, environment around is awful, no view from window. We left at 6 AM after shower and didn't took any breakfast. Hotel served its purpose (to sleep before going to Bohol).
Suitable for solo student traveler.
Travel tip:
Ask taxi for 150 php drive from airport, no more.
