Value for Money

If you are looking for no frills and great service Hotel Pier Cuatro is a good bargain. They have a good breakfast buffet that caters to both continental and Asian rice needs. The location is close to the SM shopping center, Sto Nino Church and Dried fish market. It is also a quick trip to the beach across to Mactan.
The rooms are basic backpacker's type but strong aircon and heaters in showers make up for a hard bed.
Hotel Feature Tip:
If you are there for a quick stop over going to other islands this is a good find.

New hotel fairly close to airport but nothing else

We stayed here for one night before traveling out. It was an average hotel, but not as good as the Beverly Boutique Business Hotel, where we stayed the week before. They had only one key, which led to me and my husband not being able to go two separate places without leaving our only key at the desk. Also, you could not leave on lights or the TV because it required a key in the wall enabling switch. That made us feel less secure about leaving our belongings in the room, which does not have a safe. The food in the restaurant was terrible, and the breakfast was disgusting. The restaurant did have hard boiled eggs, toast, and coffee. This was an acceptable hotel to stay in for one night, but it is not near anything, and the taxi drivers do not know where it is. Fortunately I knew it was near the Arena and could tell the driver to turn left NOW to get there.
Nightlife Tip:
If you like to nightclub, the Arena is across the street. However, the Arena makes for the area being a bit more dodgy. The hotel would not let me walk outside at night, which was quite revealing about the neighborhood. There is good security on the front door of the hotel, however.

we used this hotel as a stopover point en route to bohol by ferry after arriving late (after midnight) on a flight to cebu. we arrived late at night and were greeted by doorman / security and two front desk staff who promptly helped us to our room and arranged everything we needed. they were friendly, helpful and efficient. the room had a/c and simple but good furnishings. everything worked well. breakfast in the morning was ok. all in all an amazing value for the price.
Hotel Feature Tip:
You can walk to the SuperCat terminal from this hotel (even with luggage) so you can avoid using a taxi.

the hotel is in a not so nice area of cebu city near but the ferry terminal to bohol.
it's a perfect hotel if you don't want to spend time there but only to explore mactan island and their resorts or the leave for day trips with the ferry to other islands.
Restaurant Tip:
For good filipino food, look for Golden Cowrie Native Restaurant

Good location but small room

This hotel has a good location, which is near the Cebu Pier 4. Because we planed to go to Bohol on next day. So we choose the hotel, which is 10 minutes walking to Cebu Pier 4 where we can take ship to Tagbilaran. But the room is small and with small bed. Also our rooms do not have windows, just aircom. During the night, we feel so cold. The workers are very kindness, they do their best to help us and always smelling.
