beautiful hotel with good service

We got a good room but we waited long for them to check our agoda booking bec their system was down and sadly we arrived dawn of our departure date. But we were given late checkout at 4 pm which was great. Had the chance to have a sumptuous breakfast buffet and used their outdoor pool. Nice floral designs in the lobby.

The Marco Polo Hotel is one of 5 hotels that I've stayed at on my trips to Cebu. It is one of the best, if not the best (neck and neck with the Radisson Blu) in Cebu. The hotel has all the features of a higher end hotel (note that Cebu's not NYC/Tokyo/etc.) and excellent trained staff and a great location nestled in the Nivel Hills overlooking Cebu city. Go ahead and stay at other hotels in Cebu but you won't get the value and service that you're going to find at the Marco Polo.

Quiet, well appointed, and the food is pretty good too.
Free shuttle van to shopping malls make it so convenient. Friendly service all round.
Getting info to points of interest for a tourist was a bit of a pain as the concierge staff don't speak good English. They don't even have a map in English ... caters only to Japanese and Koreans.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
The staff at reception can help better with your queries... leave the concierge staff to their other preoccupations.

if you are thinking about staying anywhere in this price range then pay a few extra dollars and stay here. great pool, fully equipped gym and nice clean quiet rooms. the staff and very friendly and can't do enough for you. food in the pool bar is very good and the restaurant on the top floor is excellent but expect to pay the same as a reasonably good london restaurant. i would definately stay there again if back in cebu
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
the taxi drivers in cebu may just be about some of the best in asia. i took about twenty cabs and all set their meters, all where clean and in good repair and none of the drivers seem to have a deathwish. most fares will cost no more than 2 or 3 dollars.

what a contrast! when i first stayed at marco polo some times back, it was a bit unpleasant. but my subsequent stays as well as this most recent stays were wonderful, really wonderful. it was clear that the mgt has taken a very strict view of my "less than satisfactory" comments from the first stay, and went not only to fix it but also to improve it. kudos to all at marco polo!

i have stayed three times at the marco polo hotel and everything about it is perfect starting with the staff, perfect spacious comfortable rooms, and huge breakfast buffet. they will certainly see me again.
the staff even called me in my room as soon as i got there to make sure i was happy with everything.

I stayed only one night with my parents,
and they loved it.
First of all, if you are first time to visit Cebu,
it will be great to look around from the hotel.
It is located on the high hill of the cebu.
Second, the food was really better but cheaper than Sangri-la.
So we loved it.

The reception staff, pool and bar staff, and both restaurants' staff were exceptional - not just for the Philippines, but for anywhere. This is a true credit to Mr. Hans Hauri, his managers and the people themselves. The amenities of the hotel were first rate and the room and bath facilities to be expected of this classy hotel. All our meals during our two day and night stay were at the hotel and most were fine. The only negative was the cut and quality of the New York strip steak in the Blu Bar. I have had many cuts better, tastier, and far less expensive at Casa Verde in Ayala mall. No question they can do better with better quality meat.
