The private beach n the restaurant cove were amazing!
With the reasonable price, I think it is a v nice hotel with nice staff n facility. I tried the spa which just cost me h k d $ 4xx. Very nice n relaxing. I tried the sauna n jacuzzi also, V good. I had two dinner at the cove, reasonable price n fresh seafood. The free shuttle bus is also convenient for us to go shopping, though more frequent would be better. All in all, nice hotel for holiday.

Nice resort with beautiful layout and landscaping of the grounds. Clean with nice facilities. Spacious deluxe room in garden wing. Friendly, courteous and attentive staff. Great buffet breakfast!
Water in the beach wasn't nice and not really swimmable. Need more privacy and security on the beach. The deluxe room was basic. They may need to renovate the design in the near future.
The resort was really nice with beautiful layout and landscaping of the grounds. It had good facilities. We stayed in a deluxe garden room which was spacious and bigger than I expected. Staff was friendly and helpful. They attended immediately to our concerns. We had a problem with our aircon which was immediately fixed by their technician. Although the resort provides only 1 bottled water per guest, you can request for a water jug of hot or cold water. They gave us 3!
The buffet breakfast was really great! It had a good selection of food, lots of breads and fresh juices. The food was of first class standard, well cooked and we enjoyed it very much.
What we didn't like is that we couldn't swim on the beach. It was low tide the whole day and the water had much seaweeds that looked dirty to me. There were only little fishes on the water and none of the tropical fishes that we hoped to see. We were really disappointed that we werent't able to snorkel or swim. The beach area was also surrounded by the local boats of fishermen and boatmen offering island hopping. They were allowed to enter the resort beach water and press you to hire them for island hopping.
If one isn't into swimming on the beach, the resort is a nice place to stay in with several swimming pools and good facilities.
Restaurant Tip : There's a grill restaurant on the main highway, 2 blocks away from the hotel where you can eat good seafood and other dishes at reasonable prices.

Thatch roofed bungalows; clean white sand beach; helpful staff.
There was some constuction noise related to the new pool but the work site was well contained.
The airport taxi to the hotel (200 pc) was convenient. We arrived mid-afternoon and enjoyed the welcome a drink and sandwich lunch. Our bungalow was older but clean and had a great view of the well maintained, quiet beach. We also enjoyed a quiet afternoon at the manicured pool. My wife said the massage at the spa was probably the best she's ever had.
Restaurant Tip : The Cove restaurant out on the point has a wonderful ocean view. The steamed fish and deserts taste great.

Loved the overall feel of the resort; great service; nice breakfast.
They were working on the main pool at the time so that wasn't available; wireless only available in common areas.
Had a great stay at the Maribago Bluewater Beach Resort. The service was excellent and they put a premium on security. Loved the open-air "lobby", the buildings and the gardens. Each room has a nice patio. The interior of the rooms are quite nice but starting to show some wear. The activities hosted by the hotel were a bit expensive. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to others.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Go tho the Magellan memorial at the tip of the island and enjoy some fresh seafood at the restaurants along the water. We had some fantastic fresh crab.

- Friendly and responsive staff
- GREAT food / Buffet! (Compliments to the Chef)
- Especially the breakfast is a feast!
- Enough to do for 3 days (watersports, massage, sports, etc)
- A bit far from the city and hard to get an honest cab. They all want smth extra.
- Besides what's in the resort, there is not much directly outside the resort
- All prices within resort are shown without SC and Tax. Which might give a wrong image abt the real price (eg. Cocktail on menu 180p, real price like 230p or smth). Better to show the final prices!
- Did not get personal confirmation from the hotel after booking with Agoda.
Bluewater Beach Resort is an outstanding place to spend a few days outside the chaos of the city. It's peaceful and the staff will make sure you have nothing to be worried of.
The surroundings and buildings (2 floors maximum) are convenient and will give you a cozy feeling. Unlike some neigbouring resorts with huge buildings. The place is not too big, so I assume a getaway from 2-3 days is enough. If you plan to stay longer, I suggest you move to another resort after those days, so you see different things.
The food is simply said: amazing. I have been living in the Philippines for almost a year now and always been disappointed with the food. Not in this resort! It starts with an amazing intercontinal breakfast buffet (from Croissants to Korean/Japanese soup, from kanelbule to rice). In the evening you can choose between various places and there is always a buffet with a theme. Everyday day another theme with a band/singer.
Since it's a resort, the prices are above avarage (compared to the city), but still very acceptable compared to back home. I read somewhere that you should not stay on this island and that all places are like fortresses! Well, if that is so, then lock me up in those fortresses forever :)
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Get out for one day and go to Bohol! Ask the staff how to get there. Leave early!

Very good service, staff were very attentive.
Atmosphere is great for relaxing.
Great pools, they were very well kept.
-Restaurants are good, not best.
The prices are a bit expensive, for the food they
are serving, but still cheap if you compare other countries.
Still the wood oven baked Pizzas are awesome, and at $5 average.
-Beach is OK, but the sea is not for swimming.
-There were many locals just off shore waiting to sell you a just about anything "for cheap" (stay away!!!).
The hotel is doing a good job keeping them away, but it cannot be helped.
I believe that every hotel in the area has to deal with them.
Considering great staff, nice atmosphere, and fast service.
I will stay at this hotel next time.
Looking forward to new Allegro restaurant, and the main pool which was under renovation at the time I have stayed..
Hotel Feature Tip : For a shopping, sightseeing, and fine dinning,
hotel has a shuttle service to Cebu City.(aprox.30min.)
If needed, one way Taxi ride is at 250 or 300 pesos.
Try to make a deal with a taxi driver, and book a return trip with him for even lower price.

Even if we got a Run of the House deal, the Garden view room is really good value for the price. The room has a double bed and a single bed just like what was shown on the picture. Good food. Friendly staff. It's nice taking pictures on this resort
The Garden view rooms are old (but well maintained). We cannot open the sliding door to the veranda. We can also hear thuds from upstairs. The sand is nice but the sea itself is poor. There are so many floating seaweeds. Their man-made island I think can be blamed for this cause the seaflow is slow and thus seaweeds seem to accumulate. I had been 3 times to this resort, and unfortunately, I haven't seen a high tide.
If you would like to have a good place to relax by the pool or beach and NOT taking a dip on the sea, I recommend this resort. They have friendly staff and food is good.
The place is good value for your money. A room is intended for more than 2 persons.
Travel tip : If you're on a budget, opt for room service food, they are way cheaper than from their resto.

many great things about this hotel we enjoyed. Breakfast buffet was delicious and appealing. The amumi suite we stayed in was really wonderful.
the only thing is the water from the faucet is salty.
I would highly recommend this hotel and I would stay here aagain without question.

- The two swimming pools next to Spa Suite and Garden View deluxe rooms are great. The main pool is under construction.
- The staff are nice and helpful
- The spa suite is cozy with extra spacious bathroom. Those facing the swimming pool are even better.
- The bar near the beach and the Cova Restaurant is superb.
- Breakfast is great with lots of varieties for breads.
- Good security as they will check your room number when you go in the hotel.
- When the hotel call the taxi driver for the guests, they will have a record slip with the driver's information. You can let the hotel know if there is any argue or misbehavior of the driver.
- The beachside room is too open. Has no privacy.
- Not many restaurant near the hotel except a burger selling stall and a korean restaurant. There are a few others further away but the road condition is not good.
- There are bugs inside the bathroom because of its design. Some open area without windows.
I will recommend this hotel to others. It is reasonably priced and well maintained.

The Compound is private, wellmanicured and beautiful with a beautiful beach.
Food is expensive and not very good.
Service is nonexistant
This time we were upgraded to a Spa Room. I assume it was because of the difficulties we experienced on our previous visit. The beach stones surrounding the tub and shower look nice but are not practical; they hurt my feet.
If we had not booked the second stay in advance of the first stay I would have chosen a different hotel, but their attempt to make up for our previous experience was appreciated.
The food quality is POOR. On the first visit three of our party ordered grilled chicken. Without exception all three chickens were served partially raw. I like rare steak but I cannot say that I enjoy rare chicken. The whole process (lunch) took 90 minutes, 75 of which we spent waiting. We had to ask 4 times before finally receiving the drinks we ordered. One of the salads never was delivered. We finally gave up and left the resturant. The breakfast is a buffet and was better than most that are offered at comparable properties in the Philippines.
My advice regarding meals is to get them in the resturants in the area. Avoid Antonio's Seafood Resturant. They were out of every selection we made. They did however have live warm water lobster for 4,700php (about $100.USD)for a medium sized lobster; we passed on this recomendation. We finally left and found BBQ at a roadside stand. Two days later we were directed to a very nice resturant on Maribago street close to the hotel; The "Maribago Grill". The food was good, reasonably priced and there was a wide variety on the menu from lobster (offered at 1,600php (about $35.USD)to BBQ ribs sll of which were available. I highly recommend this resturant.
All-in-all, if you avoid the resturants for other than breakfast the Maribago Bluewater hotel is not a bad choice if you want a beach front resort. For a more sophisticated setting with great views I recommend the Marco Polo. It is set halfway up the mountain with very nice views, nice rooms and good food.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Top of the Hill offers a beautiful panorama of Cebu. Make your own deal with the cab driver, not through the hotel. We negotiated a 5 our trip that included a trip to the mall, the Taoist temple and the Top of the Hill for 4 people for 1,300php (about $28.USD)
An interesting overnight trip is the Island of Bohol to take the river cruise, and see the Chocolate Hills. The monkeys were a waste of time. They were kept in a roadside stand; Kind of sad really.

Private, quiet, beautifully manicured compound
Good security
Beautiful Beach
Bad Food that is also overpriced
Terrible service
Enjoy the welcome drink that you receive upon arrival, it will be that last thing that is delivered promptly.
After we dropped our bags in the room we went directly to the seafood resturant for lunch. The resturant was closed for remodeling and had been relocated to the beach. Good we thought, a nice view of the ocean while we enjoy a peaceful lunch after a long trip. The resturant was setup under a large tent on the beach which would have been nice if they had provided for ventilation. Without any ventilation a tent sitting in the hot sun can become very warm and this one was. If there had been an ocean breeze we wouldn have been fine but mother nature was not cooperating. We ordered tall glasses of the ginger spiced lime ade that we were served when we checked in and proceeded to peruse the menu. It was hard to believe from the menu that we were on a beach, on an island in the south pacific. Only two seafood offerings and both of them frozen; what is the world is going on? Sad to say the most inviting thing on the menu was the grilled half chicken. Three of us ordered the chicken the other ordered the grilled pork belly. Two of us ordered a salad and two ordered appitizers. Fortyfive minutes later our salads and appitizers had not arrived, the chicken was still grilling and our drinks, remember our drinks that we ordeered upon arrival in the resturant? Well, they had yet to arrive as well. Questioned about the drinks, our waitress headed off in search of the missing beverages never to be heard of again. Another thirty minutes passed before two of the three chickens were served along with the pork belly. The third chicken for some reason needed another twenty minutes on the grill. Twenty minutes the third chicken was served. The appitizers and salads were still missing and the drinks had yet to arrive. Questioned again about the drinks, the resturant manager appologized and went herself to find them. Five minutes later three of our four drinks arrived. The fourth
Restaurant Tip : Dont eat at the hotel. Avoid Antonio's Seafood Resturant (another long story). Try the Maribago Grill just a short walk from the hotel compound.

Staff was very friendly and courteous. Staff was accomodating. The rooms were clean and nicely decorated.
had one problem with the outdoor barbeque chicken which was brought to the table undone but it was an honest mistake by the cook and was taken care of imediately. Also service manager Freida took care of the entire bill which was very nice for a party of four people she went out of her way to apologize and "Make Things Right"
Overall, I would definitely go back to the Maribago Bluewater for it's nice beach, water sports, island hopping amenities and it's swimming pool.the resort staff is very friendly and courteous. The food in the restaraunts were also good avoiding going out in the crazy traffic that surrounds the city of Cebu.
Restaurant Tip : check out the Maribago Grill very close to the resort with great food and fantastic atmosphere.
