The staff was helpful and friendly. The place looks clean and well maintained.

The beach.

No big bed in the regular rooms. An upgrade was required for a queen size. The beach was a disappointment as it faced a lagoon and swimming is not possible in low tides...the rest of the time it feels like another pool... However, the pools are great. I feel that it’s a fair value

The hotel is a small boutique hotel with excellent design features, clean modern rooms, attentive staff and great breakfasts.

The beach was a disappointment as it faced a lagoon and although featured a white sand beach it was not natural. Rooms should have safes as it is inconvenient to put your valuables in the safety deposit boxes at the front desk.

I enjoyed my stay at the Maribago Bluewater Beach Resort and would recomment it to anyone wanting to stay in Cebu. The food in the hotel was of a consistently high quality and the staff well trained and attentive, The rooms were well appointed and comfortable. Unfortunately there is not much happening outside the hotel and one has to make the 40 minute trip to Cebu City to shop and look around.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Make arrangements to take a boat trip to the outlying islands - the water is crystal clear and the lunches are pretty good.

nice pool,nice bar near the beach

free breakfast buffet needs more variety,massage too expensive,i hate the flies at the restaurant

it was a nice and memorable stay for our family,the room was ok except staff was trying to open the room early in the morning while we were still sleeping without knocking the door.i thnk it was not a good idea,i felt unsafe and no privacy,and the restaurant free buffet-not enough food to choose needs improvement especially for the foreigners..but overall its ok i still want to spend time with my family there again soon..

The room was right on the water and appeared to be very clean. The channel selection was extensive for their tv programming. The food was excellent and affordable. the staff was helpful and friendly.

The staff was not always well informed about the specifics of their department. Menu selection, availability of services.

The maribago resort was a positive experience from check in to check out. The front desk staff were helpful and placed us in our room within ten minutes of arrival and answered all of our questions. Our booking came with a complimentary breakfast buffet and was a good choice for those that wish to stay in the future. The facilities are showing their age in some spots,but did not interfere with the enjoyment of the surroundings. Overall,it was a good experience.

Restaurant Tip : The seafood was excellent at the Cove restaurant.

Cove restaurant - though pricey even by resort standards, would recommend the food

bad management, uninterested workers, lack of proper coordination, unprofessional conduct all around from the pick-up from the airport to the check-out..

I come from the tourism industry hence tend to be more understanding when everything is not in tip top shape at a hotel/resort. But Maribago took the cake. After making reservations through Agoda, I called the hotel to arrange pickup from the airport and inquired about the likely location of our room. I was told, it was on water front - "someone from the hotel will meet you right by the carousels to take you to your room with views of ocean with no obstruction". Right. We get to the airport. No pick up. Call the hotel. They have no idea what happened to driver.The other hotel drivers start looking for him and he is found after about 25 minutes smoking and taking a break outside.. We get in the car, go about 100 m. and the driver stops the car and gets into a flaming row with the security guard at the exit gate. 15 more minutes of waiting in the car. The reason we booked a car from the hotel and paid close to 3 times the market rate was so that we would have a hassle-free ride to the hotel... Arrive at the hotel, only to be ignored by staff at the front desk. We politely request assistance checking in. They are busy we are told. Wait another 10 minutes. We are finally "attended to" and given a room. We are told that we will be driven to our room in a golf cart - nice touch we think. Until the driver says there is only one cart, and I can travel on my husband's lap or on top of our luggage in the back. We decline and request to be taken to the room directly. We get to the room, nicely appointed, pretty color scheme.. with full, unobstructed view of a wall. Remind the hotel's confirmation that we were to be given a room on the water front to the front desk. Back and forth - albeit politely - for another 30 minutes. Finally we are given a room with partial view of the beach. We notice the room next door is also vacant and it has much better view.

Restaurant Tip : The Cove - it is pricey and they do have unreliable availability of items on their limited menu, but the food is good.

Swimming Pool Beach Breakfast Service

Far away from shopping mall

Basically the setup of the environment is brilliant which made me feel like accommodating in the tropical forest without sacrificing the clean and comfortable hotel rooms/areas for staying. The breakfast served is fantastic and it will much better if more variety of choice on food and juice could be given. In overall, it is a choice which i will highly recommended if you wanna to stay in Mactan Island.

Nice environment and spacious

Location is abit far out. Should have more PC around for internet use.

Nice hotel with plenty of space. Staff are polite. One of the good things is there are 3 swimming pools whereby you can choose to have a dip. If that is not enough, the sea is just a stone throw away. The kids will enjoy the baby shark feeding activity which is everyday at 4pm.

If you want a great beach, great staff, great price, and an amazing dinner, stay here. . .and I have stayed everywhere

Well, a con. . I had to drive to the waterfalls. . . no real cons

The Cove Restaurant is what made my stay so great. The property is beautiful for sure. When I arrived to dinner, you choose your fresh seafood directly from tanks upon tanks of choices and then have the staff prepare it fresh to your choosing. Hard to say what impressed me the most. . . the quality of the food, the atmosphere, or the price. . . . this is the spot for sure, I stay in the islands often, and I will be here again

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Across the street from nearby Cebu White Sands is a professional Spa that offers one hour massages for around $20 U.S. - one of the best I have had and I avoided the resort prices

Pro or Con, this is a Philippine type of resort. The grade is much higher than the typical but not reaching international grade. Very private and safe within the resort area.

Privacy leads to a bit of seclusion. Not much to do around the area. Safe also leads to over-protected feel. Hotel staff had to come with me to change money at the money changer across the street. Don' expect to just walk out. Hmmm.. what happened here before? Seawater was full of plants and seaweeds. Was not enjoyable to swim. Be early for breakfast, food runs out when busy.

The staff are helpful within the premises but don't expect much asking for what to do or eat outside. Seems like they want you to stay there always. Rooms were nice but a bit old. Matress was not very good. Hotel water is not drinkable in this day and age.

Restaurant Tip : Go to Sutukil for seafoods and/or nearby Shangri-la hotel if you get tired of eating local foods.

Probably best personal in the world. Very cosy, clean. So much care taken by the staff. Great spa with a wide range of chioce. Wonderful fish restaurant. A lot facilities for a tourist with desires.

No safe in the room, only at the front desk, which is opened 24 hours. Beach is shallow not enough water for a good swim. No bathrobes in the room, but nice slippers.

Very nice place to visit especially if you are tired and need some relaxation. In princilpe, you can have great time even inside the hotel premices in three swimming pools, pools with fishes, amuma spa, bars and restaurants, children playground, pull, hotel private beach, which is good for relaxing, but not for swimming. A big desire to swim can be satisfied in one of the pools. Very nice place for a family vacation. Time to go to the city is about 30 minutes. A nice surprise was a free shuttle bus to the city for inhouse guests. The best impression of the hotel is that you'll never hear "no" from the staff. All you ask about will be done for you with a generous smile.

Shopping Tip : Two nice shopping malls: SM and Yala. Yala is the place not only for shopping but having a good time in the park or one of the numerous cafes.

Polite staff, clean environment

we enjoyed our stay in Maribago! it was nice except of the mosquitoes but resort provided the repellent mats in the room, so it does helps.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Go to SM mall for shopping. And if you happen to take island hopping packages (abt 7000pesos) from anyone there, try not to carry too much cash with you as I lost some money when I went snorkelling with hubbby. But we did not confront, afterall we are in a foreign country. Do not leave the hotel/resort after 5pm, as the sky gets darker. The taxi there also drives rather fast, so caution the driver before you get in and get the driver that speaks relatively well in English Lang.

I hardly find anything unsatisfactory in the price range offered by the hotel.

The only thing that I can pick is the facitilties of the room we stayed were a little bit old fashioned.

The hotel staff were very nice and attentive. The beach was good for sun bathing. The swimming pools were clean. The hotel was well secured from outside as long as you did not stay long in the beach. The spa service provided in the hotel was quite professional. The food offered in the hotel's main restaurant were up to standard but it could by improved in some ways such as getting the food away from small insects.

Luxurious clean resort with friendly staff

The beach could be nicer, but it's balanced by nice pools.

We stayed at this resort for 4 nights. It's a nice clean pleasant place fully living up to its star rating. The restaurants offer delicious meals and the staff both at restaurant and at the rest of the resort is pleasant and professional. The beach is ok, but somehow I was expecting little more. On the other hand... the pools are nice and we really enjoyed them... especially the one at Spa Wing. I would come again to this resort.

Nightlife Tip : Mango Square street full of bars and pubs in Cebu is recommended, if you look for a place to spend night at.
