Peaceful hotel with great service

a friend and i stayed at the room and we were so surprised to find that not only was the room huge, but the bathroom was huge as well! i liked the fact that it was an open air bathroom, with nice smooth pebbles on the floor. we were in front of the swimming pool, so that was convenient. maribago bluewater resort is also huge and there's a lot of things to do. the water is clear, but be careful of the sea urchins at the sides of the beachfront. overall, its a great place for relaxation and rejuvenation.
Restaurant Tip:
Breakfast at the Maribago restaurant, nothing exceptional. But for dinner, it's great to try Maribago Grill, which is conveniently located near Maribago Bluewater. The grilled chicken, baked scallops and ginger mussels

very nice place with a beautiful beach

It was first time to stay there. Actually, I wanted to book on Crimsn but I couldn't cause of money problem. Anyway, now I feel like it rather be better to choose Maribago. I think this place is better than Crimsn which I have bad memory about the Korean receptionist. She was very arrogant for customers. Anyway, this resort has 3 nice pools so, if you like swimming and if you are looking for a econimic price then, this place would be the best. Moreover, if you take a picture of yourself at the beach you might find yourself to be a model.

I'd previously stayed at the Crimson hotel, but chose the bluewater because it was a bit cheaper but in a similar location (close to the dive shops!).
Overall, I was very happy with the hotel. The staff were very keen to please.
The rooms are a little dated and quite noisy. The wi-fi is only free in reception (it costs money in the room and there's no ethernet socket). The A/C is also quite weak.
The hotel seemed like a good choice for kids and there are a couple of lagoon-style pools. Overall we were pretty happy.
Nightlife Tip:
There are shops just outside the hotel gate which sell the San Miguel in bottles rather than cans (which tastes much better).

we stayed at maribago bluewater resort to celebrate my birthday... our flight going to Cebu was too early so we arrived at the resort around 7am. They told us that the standard check in time was 2pm but they are good enough to let us have our room at around 10am. plus point for them.
they have different types of restaurant so food is not a problem if you stay at their resort... it's a bit pricey if you try their a la carte meal ... but if you are a big eater try their buffet spread.. you'll get what you pay for.
although their staff was polite they have to trained their staff more to make the guest feel that they are on a first class resort.
overall we had a relaxing stay, a nice way to celebrate your birthday with nature and with your love ones.

Rate is expensive yet the facilies are old.

The hotel rates are way too expensive and yet the hotel facilities as well as their amenities are old and not well maintained. I have tried other international hotels such as Shangri-La Resort Mactan, Marina Bay Sands in SG, Hong Kong Disneyland Resort, that even with high hotel accommodation rates but with the satisfaction i get is worth the high price I pay.

Perfect getaway from the city!
The beach was nice during high tide, the sandy bottom was a plus factor.

the amuma suite room is very nice, spacious and with a shower room and bathtub that spells out 'luxurious bath'.
the pools are well-kept, without strong chlorine odor, perfect for a refreshing dip on the pool to get away from the heat of the sun.
the beach front needs more maintenance, clean the beach especially during low-tide and remove the seaweeds that wash up on shore.
overall, i would gladly return to this place the next time i visit cebu.
