Montebello Villa Hotel, Cebu

This hotel is located in Cebu and only a 100P taxi ride to Ayalla mall, and the SM mall. It is quite, clean, fun, and great swimming pool, the staff have been with them for years so they do a great job and take good care of the customers. The grounds are very pretty also. The location is great as it is hidden from the traffic and noise of Cebu. You will enjoy this place. Get the front desk staff a course in friendly and it would be perfect.

The ambience in the hotel is quite good. Location is also great. A quiet place away from the hussle and buzzle of the city but should you want to shop a bit and have food apart from that served in the hotel, Gaisano Country Mall is just a walk away. The main lobby is really spacious with nice furnishings. It’s though I were just at home. Our accomodation was on the second level. What a pity for the bellman as there was no elevator. He had to carry 4 humungous luggages up from the first level by himself. The hallways are clean and quiet. The rooms are well kept save for some mild cigarette smell in the second room I booked. When I informed the staff they immediately sent housekeeping to deal with it. The rooms are a bit small but who cares if all I need it for is to retire after a long trip and city tour? Afterall, the sheets and the curtains in the room are clean. I have booked for two standard rooms hoping that we will be accomodated in connecting rooms but we were informed that the hotel do not have this. So, we had to make do of two separate rooms. I had to sleep with two kids in the one room while my husband and two other kids in the next. This was a bit inconvenient. The bath size is just nice; however, the water is not draining well. When I called the front desk, the maintenance was knocking at our door in less than 5 mins. In some low-charging hotels I stayed in conversations from adjacent rooms can easily be heard. This is not true at Montebello. The rooms are sound proof and even conversations/voices along the hallway are not audible from the rooms.

The staff is very accomodating to our request. As we are travelling with kids and our flight back home is much later than check out time, the hotel staff agreed for late check out. This gave us some time to freshen up from our city tour before finally going to the airport for the last leg of our holiday. Breakfast is al fresco by the pool side. The spread is not that extensive but reasonable enough. There is food for everyone in the family, even my picky children have something to eat. There were fresh pineappIe juice and fresh mango juice on top of the usual coffee or tea. I would love to see the chorizo de Cebu served for breakfast, though. The fruits were fresh and I can tell that substantial effort has been put in to choose the best pick of the day. I enjoyed the pineapple so much that day. It was really sweet. My parents will be travelling to Cebu for the Sinulog festival and though Montebello is distant from the Basilica, I will get them to stay in this hotel. I am sure that they will enjoy their stay at Montebello in the same way that my family did. I will definitely stay at Montebello Villa hotel should my travels bring me to Cebu again.
