loads of activities, huge place, really friendly staff, numerous fresh and saltwater pools
too expensive for outdated furnishings, small beach not well-maintained
Was not disappointed on our stay. The place was huge! They've got a little jeepney that regularly goes around the place. Loads of big fresh and saltwater pools to choose from, with slides and falls. The resort has got loads of water sports. We enjoyed the themed entertainment on the beach they've got every night. Loads of restaurants to choose from. Family-friendly, the resort is lively with very nice staff always willing to make your stay the best you've had!

The difference bet the lagoon side of salt water and the lagoon side fresh water. The food at kiliminjaro.
I find plantation bay the perfect vacation for newly weds. They got the crew, everybody is so nice and very accomodate. The food is good same as the 24 hours service like transportation. Mogambo spring spa i just like u ever dream of, visiting plantation bay for me is one of the best thing that happened to my life. A dream come true. If given a chance i like to go back again before going back to new york. My fiancee love it so much. The next time i go back im going to bring my kids with me.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : On our second night we experience on how they drain the water(salt water) and clean the lagoon at the same time. It was so perfect on staying at plantation bay. It's every couple dream to celebrate their honey or even doing their wedding.

- check in time to late
- bad value for money ratio
- small rooms
- poor beach front, only handmade
- no taxis available, only totaly overprized hotel shuffles
check in time is two o'clock, that means, if you arrive at 9 o'clock, you have to wait five hours till you ca access your room.
the beach is only handmade, not very clean, full of stones and rocks and not a nice enwironment for swimming or snorcheling.
the resort is to expensive for what they offer and it has a very bad value for money ratio. The rooms are small, prices in the restaurants and bars are on a high level compared with other resorts on the Philippines.
The staff will not call you local taxis, but push you to use the hotel owned shuffles, so you pay 990 Pesos, instead of 180, if you want to go out for dinner. the resort os based far away from other restaurants and bars, so you need a taxi at least.
The pool area is very nice, but that is it.
Restaurant Tip : In Mactan city there are alot of restaurants, where you can eat cheaper and better.

many things to do, plenty of help, pretty safe for kids and elderly. Relaxed atmosphere.
the good service seems to be limited to within the hotel area...not much information about bus schedules or where to connect to other places.
Pretty satisfied with the general services within the resort, various restaurants, game room, pools, etc. to keep everyone occupied. More suitable for families with kids and elderlies, no need to go off resort to find things to do. For people looking for more "local flavor", they might need to go off the resort to find it, but the resort is pretty far from Cebu City, and taxis are usually reluctant to drive all the way to the resort and drive back to the city. I would try not to go off the resort, since it's a bit inconvenient. The actual beach is also a bit small.

My wife and I enjoyed the wide variety of activity and food choices offered by the hotel. Everything from a late evening walk around the secure compound to firing a real M-16. Food choices were just as varied and included Italian, American and of course Filipino. We also appreciated the No Tipping policy.
The rooms were over-priced even for this high season period. The hotel is shown as 5 star but the room quality is only 3-4 star. Service was also a bit spotty -- mostly good but some slow/bad service
My wife and I would definitely return to the Plantation, but probably not during High Season since the price is too high for the amenities offered. We especially enjoyed the large number of activities that they offer. One can learn to dive, jet ski, relax on the beach, play pool, video games, tennis or just swim in the many different pools that are available. We left the kids with the grandparents this trip but would definitely take them on our next visit. The Plantation offers lots of children's activities to keep them occupied.

many facilities, different pools, pool bar, restaurants. nice rooms.
check in not possible before 2 o`clock. That is to late, because the day is nearly finished.
very friendly and helpful staff, nice location, and many different facilities in the resort. The beach is disappointing, to many stones and rocks, not sufficient for a relaxing bath.
the food is o.k., but cost benefit ratio comes out poor. The rooms are clean, spaciou enough.
A good and recommendable resort, but overpriced compared with other resorts on Mactan Island. Nice and many different pools, nice rooms, nice restaurants. Room Service to expensive. Pool at Pool side rooms need renovation.

Great rooms, Pools/Lagoons & facilities
Very far from airport, shoping etc., & expense to hire a taxi & food in resort very very expensive. Water Sports and any extras are very costly compared to other resorts. Fine if cash is not a problem.
Resort has many great rooms mainly around the lagoons (not pool side) and lots of facilities and games etc., for adults and children. Lagoons and pools are great and nice private beach with watersports that are unfortunately very expensive compared to other resorts.my family really enjoyed both stays here but my bank account did not. Not cheap but if you can afford the price then a great place.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Walk to road and catch motor tricycle cab to local restaurants and shops and buy barbequed chicken on side of road to take to room to eat later. Very cheap chicken 120 Pesos each.

Awesome Pools and Lagoons & nice rooms around them with good ameneties & food & entertainment
Very expensive to buy anything or rent watersports etc.,
Awesome Lagoons and Pools and restaurants and ameneties for family to enjoy so many things in one resort but everything extra is very costly and spoils an otherwise great resort. A pity the owners try to "Milk" evry last cent they can from patrons. Prices of food and hire of water equipment is over the top but there are some things free. Resort DOES NOT offer free transport to shops, airport etc., and again Rips patrons off with their aranged taxi's etc.,

Many free activities for children and adults, free classes, free shuttle club cars to go around the resort, friendly and efficient staff.
There is no amenities in the vicinity which means you can't go out of the hotel and get cheap eats and massage.
Even coming with recommendations by friends, we were still pleasantly surprised by this place. The staff deserve high appraisal for their efficiency and friendliness comparing with the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel we stayed a few days before this one. The staff also stick to the No Tip Policy which helped us relax and enjoy. The many activities they had for children and adults were great for the easily bored. The large lagoon and pools, water slides also kept us all occupied.
Hotel Feature Tip : There are free shuttle buses to the hotel which is not advertised. When you first arrive, do take the free shuttle club cars within the resort and get a feeling of the places.

Everything is nice.
I was very satisfied with the pool and many amusement.
Tennis court and private beach and dinner show.
Many bugs in there. Because many trees and nature.
I can't do anything anyway. Just we need to tell the hotel staff. They could kill bugs with spray.
It was amazing!!
We can enjoy there all the time.
Different performances every night and big pool and tennis court.
We were not tired with the hotel attractions. The hotel makes us happy and it was very convenient.
I want to go there next time also if I have a chance.

Great room, great fresh water pool, great snorkeling, great in-house entertainment, great amenities (inet access, exercise room, bicycles), great room. Good breakfast. They don't care if you bring in food from outside. You want to get away a little... this is the place. Better than Shang-Ri-La.
Location, transportation. Not many taxis, must walk to street to get tricycle to get to where taxis wait. Hotel offers transportation for a price way over what you typically would pay ordinarily including a transfer to the airport.
I stayed during low peak but still paid a premium. The support staff were friendly. The reception staff were snooty. The trasporation staff could care less. No tips accepted - that's different.
Hotel Feature Tip : Fresh water pool, snorkeling, in-house entertainment, great to stroll around the grounds after a big meal. Stay in. Make plans to go to town (if you have to) because it lacks easy access to transporation.

There is a lot of swimming pool over the whole resort. And the depth of pool is very comportable for adults.
It is quite far from Cebu city, so if you wanna go shopping or something like that.. you need to use taxi every time.
Plantation Bay is one of the best resort that I ever seen. It has beautiful swimming pool and you can enjoy it anytime. Also, the staffs of hotel are very kind, and every thing is very clean. You can see some cute lizards near the yard.
Shopping Tip : When you need to get a Taxi, you'd better to take it at the outside of the resort. It is more cheap. And there are tricycles to get in.. It is really fun.

good service provided,
plenty of facilities
poor location, little bit far away from city centre
I would say Plantation Resort is a good place for travelers to be on holiday. There are lots of facilities, especially sports facilities. It is very convienent for swimmers as you find easily find pools nearby you. Also, the staff is nice as they really care you. Overall, I enjoyed staying here.
