Poor service, run down rooms, beat up furnishing and stained carpets with torn curtains and grungy towels.
I had an issue with the complimentary shuttle service on my first night. I needed to go to the airport, but was told the van was not available and a hotel employee was using it for shopping at the local mall.
No internet in the hotel rooms.
Remote location- no other restaurants, etc.
Long wait for taxis at times.

We stayed there for 4 nights during the new year holiday season. The room is spacious and new (we have three people staying in the deluxe room) and the bathroom shows the aging. Buffet breakfast is in Cafe Soto is not good at all, however the restaurant in Vistamar Resort (by the poolside) is pretty OK. The hotel has nothing for the tourists, such as town maps, tours brochure, restaurants recommendation, etc. If you are going on your own, it is wise to search for local information before arrival.

I enjoyed the suite room that was offered by this hotel at per cent discount. The room has two sections, one master bedroom and one living room. It is good for a big family vacation, but unfortunately I was only alone in my room. The beach front was small and was only open until 5 pm. The location of the hotel is not good because you cannot walk outside to a nearby convenience store (it is inside a subdivision, you have to call a cab to go outside). The infinity pool was nice.

Second time I stayed there and will be back

My wife and I stayed there for a second time this month. We went over to Leyte to visit family and friends. When we returned to Cebu we knew we would book a room again at the Sotogrande because of its tranquil setting and fantastic staff. We'll be back next year. The only downside that we found was that to access the wifi you had to go to the lobby. I was surprised that for a four star hotel all rooms were not set up for wifi.

Got a nice breeze...but really no internet?
The rooms were large, The beach was rocky and small but still plesant. The buffet was alright for 1 day but 2 days is more than needed!

The bathroom left room for improvement. Small considering the room in the actual hotel. It was nice to have opening windows to get a cross breeze. Absolutely no internet access in the rooms though!

Stick with the higher floors since they will get a view of the ocean.

Okay room but not for sight seeing and beach trave

it was our 2nd hotel in Cebu and was under the impression that it had a beach front but it was quite a walk to the beach, its inside a subdivision.
over all it was an okay stay though breakfast was not satisfying... but the happy staff was enough to make the stay happy.

we choose the sotogrande due to its close proximity to the airport since we had an early morning departure out of the airport. the front desk was very kind and efficient. the room was very spacious with a very comfortable bed. sotogrande has several pools and a nice gym. the gym has a great fitness instructor. i think his name was rolly (sorry if i mispelled his name) sotogrande also has a breakfast buffet but i stay out late and always over sleep the breakfast meal but still a nice touch. i have stayed in the downtown area of cebu before, but its too loud and you can't breath due to all the diesel pollution from the vehicles. you are somewhat in an isolated area at the sotogrande, but the front desk will call a cab for you and the fare to go downtown is very reasonable. we enjoyed our stay and felt at home due to the wonderful staff.

it's nice location and good condition

we were in vistamar for 1 day only, but it was very impacted to us since it had nice beach and wide pool that is infinite to the sea. location is also not bad, it is near from cebu city, street is clean and beautiful. especially the water pressure is so good to take a bath but its steps seem to be a bit more professional..
