Quiet and relaxing resort with friendly service.
Quiet, comfortable, great pool, good food.
9.7
Horst is a wonderful host. The resort is small, secure, quiet, and relaxing. You'll be eating on site, so budget for it. But the food is excellent and the servings generous. Great pool and a variety of activities can be arranged, including diving and snorkeling. No actual "beach", but we didn't miss it. Great place for a couple to unwind.
Restaurant Tip:
Be prepared to eat all your meals on site. Although others have said the food was pricey, we found it to be reasonable, high quality, and large portions. Budget for it and you'll be pleased.

Great location for retreat
Peaceful, quiet, nice view.

the restaurant in the hotel is not that expensive like in other review, but not that cheap. friendly staffs but not the owner. i really have a good time there except for a small incident happened at the end: we asked for a late check out and they okay with 1pm check out time. their guests come sooner so the guests have to wait until 2pm to get the room. i was nice enough to move out exactly at 12 so the new guests do not have to wait longer as it's really hot at that time. but since we already checked out, when we asked for the outdoor jacuzzi to be turned on the owner instruct the staff not to do so, how cheap!!! cheap owner with small business mind!
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
wildlife santuary for bird watching

real vacation
Calm, isolated, nice staff
9.3
I have looked over all reviews. This resort is for lovers. My wife and I enjoyed this isolated and calm resort a lot. I'm gonna add some more information.
If you just want to stay and relax, it's good place.
Hotel Feature Tip:
tricycle from olango havor to talima resort charges about php. it's nice trip.
food in restraunt is from php. if you don't want to wait for cook, it's better to order next dinner or breakfast in advance. normally it takes 30 min. they don't accept credit card. prepare the cash. you can pay it for dollar as well.
there are several activity you choose in the resort. we did island hopping tour. it's 3500~4500 php for one day banka rent. you can choose where you want to go. you can share this fee with your friend and family. luckly, i have 2 more group to share my one day island hopping. i and my wife paid 1500 php with island entrance fee for person (200php).
at last day in the resort, staff arrange ship to pactan island directly. it's 500 php. if you have companies, you can share it as well.

Relaxed resort on the shore of marine preserve
easy close dive access, clean and comfortable rooms, good food, quiet and remote.

This resort is a 10 minute boat ride from the bustling city. Cross the channel and slip into relaxation. A bird preserve and and underwater marine preserve provide excellent outdoor viewing.

Isolated and rustic but charming
Wonderful staff who will do anything for you
8.3
we loved this resort - tiny, charming, back to basics, with wonderful staff who were so helpful and caring. the food here was great, there is a pool, a bar, and a dive centre - everything you need if you just want to go for a few days of chilling out. having said all that, this is not the place to go for a long stay - there is not enough to do and you will start to feel cabin fever!
Travel tip:
It was an interesting journey getting to this island - it involved going down the gang plank onto a small public ferry, and then taking a tuk-tuk down a wobbly dirt track - interesting!

Quaint island but disappointing resort
Location was good and close enough from Mactan island if you wanted to get away from a bustling city or crowded beach.

I knew it was a small resort and I expected no more than warm hospitality as if I were visiting someone's home for the weekend. It took forever to get food orders ready and all 15 or so guests were famished by the time the buffet was set-up past 7PM. I don;t mind spending P350 for a buffet but I do expect that the dishes would be replenished. Maybe they should avoid calling it a buffet and just call it a set dinner. Rooms were tiny and the A/C sounded like it was going to explode each time the power fluxed. Guests couldn't even swin in the evening because there wasn't enough power to light the pool area. The staff were as polite and accommodating as they could be and I was grateful for that.
Hotel Feature Tip:
Bring your own linens - a couple of yards of gina cloth (same fabric as the curtains) do not make for a good blanket. The rooms were clean and staff were attentive. You can't bring in your own food so if you are picky about what you eat, don't stay the night.

Perfect little getaway!
Relaxed atmostphere, staff happy to do all they can for you, peaceful hideaway, fantastic snorkeling spot
8.7
My boyfriend and I stayed here for 3 days, 2 nights. We had the place to ourselves for 2 of the days. It was idyllic!
We relaxed by the pool, went snorkeling, watched the sun set, watched lightning storms in the distance and shooting stars! Saw fireflies in the trees and nemo fish in the sea. Was a perfect weekend!
The accommodation is basic but exactly what we were looking for and expecting for the price. The staff were very friendly and always happy to help.
The food isn't anything to write home about but everything else about the place makes this not an issue.
Oh, and the pressure in the shower isn't amazing but does the job eventually.
I'd certainly go back!
Travel tip:
Walk to the village behind the resort for a bit of real Cebu.
Take cash as there's no atm and they don't accept card. I'm sure they'll tell you in advance but just in case!

beautiful views and perfect for diving
view, sunsets, diving spots, hotel workers are very polite and go out of their way to help.

our stay at talima was very enjoyable and we even opted to stay an extra night. the view of the sea, especially at sunset is unbelievable. the hotel employees are very very friendly and go far to help you with anything you will need durring your stay. the only not positive thing is that the water pressure is very low, but that is due to their not being a large source of fresh water on the island. they must catch in rainfall most of their water supply. you will want to be sure you bring snacks and drinks with you if you will require late nite snacking, as they will shut the resteraunt down after dinner and there is nothing else anywhere near the resort that you can purchase snacks or drinks, however if you ask in advance, the staff will be very helpful in getting you whatever you will require. benice to them, and tip well, they deserve it and they work hard for it.
Hotel Feature Tip:
this hotel is beautiful but is a bit out of the way if you need to be in cebu city durring the days. however, if you are looking for a hotel with beautiful views and stunning sunsets to watch from the shore, the resteraunt, or your hotel room porch.
