10
i definitely love this resort!
i was stuck by the beauty of the beach. the room was a plus plus! really nice! the resort is best for couples. even though i stayed there with my friends, i will go back again for sure!
the staff are really nice and accommodating!
everything is worth the price.
i can't wait to go back!
Restaurant Tip:
The resort's restaurant closes at 8PM but there are restaurants nearby like 5 mins. walking distance.

Wonderful and romantic!
stay in one of the bamboo vip suites! great price and you will love it!
8.7
rent a mopad...only about 7 dollars a day and enjoy!...the vip beach side suite we stayed in was breahtless.
only bad thing is room service...the food is just ok. the bar downstairs is really just small. but your room and the view...wow!
Restaurant Tip:
Rent a mopad and have a great time...small beach resort...not much there. but, if what u want is a get away..in a beautiful bamboo vip suite...u will enjoy. go eat at the blue cocunut..great time

Paradise!
Did I mention this place is paradise?
9.3
santa fe is a sleepy little place - there are a few watering holes but if you're looking for bustling night life this is not the place for you. but if you're looking to spend a few days relaxing on a bamboo balcony overlooking the ocean, drinking a few cold beers while listening to the water roll up against the shore then you won't find a better place than this.

Lovely but way overpriced
6.7
Lovely room with very nice bathroom and nice view right on the beach, but expected a lot more for the price. Friendly staff but sometimes slow service.
Food has to be pre-ordered. We ordered breakfast the night before and on the first morning it arrived 30min late, next morning we had to go and ask for it twice before it finally arrived one and a half hours late and the drinks we ordered never arrived. There is no phone in the room so we had to go searching for staff when we needed anything. Also some of the advertised features did not exist. There was no in room safe, no dvd player, no shampoo etc in the bathroom. We only got the complimentary water after complaining. We were expecting an included breakfast for 2 of the 3 nights of our stay as the booking stated "breakfast not included with free night/s" but this meant breakfast not included any day, not just the free day. There was backup power for the frequent power outages, but the ac and fan did not work on backup power and there were no windows to open so the room got unbearably hot at times.
Restaurant Tip:
Tristans 50m down the beach for good pizza

Excellent service!
excellent service, romantic decor
8.7
there were 6 of us, so 2 of us shared a beach suite while the other 4 shared a 2 bedroom villa with living room. the beach suite was nicely facing the beach and had a more spacious bathroom. it was also cooler as it was enclosed. the villa we had was directly above the check-in lobby and also faced the beach.. each suite and villa had a balcony with sun chairs and a dining table for you to have your breakfast in the morning if you pleased. the rooms were less cooling as compared to the beach suites as the ceiling of the villa was an open concept thus the cool air was not enclosed in the room. there was an in-room mini bar, hair dryer and safe, and the drinks were reasonably priced. we had the massage there twice, once out on the sun-bathing area's massage hut facing the sea, and the other time in our room. it was php450 each time. on one of the nights we had the dinner seafood buffet in the hotel at php395 each, which featured scallops, bbq pork chops, chili crabs, calamari, etc. the toilet lights were a little dim, and we didn't get any hot water from the showers while we were there. on both nights there were brown-outs, but i think its quite a common things on the island!
arlene and her staff were most helpful and very hospitable, friendly, and would do anything they could to try to make your stay a memorable and comfortable experience. as a person who is very particular about service, i have to say arlene and her team won me over with their hospitality during our stay. if we have a chance to travel again to the philippines, we would most definitely come back to coral blue oriental and spend a longer time there.
we would definitely recommend coral blue oriental to everyone!
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
- at the entrance of the hotel there was a small convenience store owned by the lady living in the hut next to it. do not hesitate to knock on her door or call out to her if you require something, she's lovely too.
- do walk out and venture to Santa Fe town and try some of the restaurants there. we had the best pork sisig throughout our 9-day stay in Philippines at Bantayan Island.
- there is a guy who goes round selling Balut on a bicycle with a basket in front. he only goes around late at night, perhaps some time after 10pm? and he will call out "Balut! Balut!" (not for the faint-hearted)
- we walked along the beach and found a guy who arranged our trip to Virgin Island for us. the boat rental along with the boatman and guide (Jhun) was php800, island fee for 6pax was php600 (we were told its php500 for a group of 5, and php150 for every additional person. Do tell the guide/boatman what you would like to eat there, they would be happy to go to the market to buy you fresh poultry & seafood, and upon reach Virgin island, while you're snorkelling, they would bbq grill your food at the cottages there (with all the other guides belonging to other travellers), and it'll be ready just in time for you to eat after your snorkel)

Great Rooms, Not So Great Staff
Really nice rooms and pretty view
7
i loved the rooms but everything was overpriced. the food and drinks take forever to be served and the food wasn't very good. it was burnt and the drinks weren't that great although the first drinks were free.
they charge pesos per head for island hoping and 350 pesos for bicycle rental, while i met a very nice and honest tour guide at the port, named kolot that found us motorbikes for rent for only 300 pesos and island hoping for only pesos for all 5 of us. if you go to bantayan island, it is well worth giving kolot a call @ and just give him a good tip because he is very honest, helpful, and has a permitt to give tours. the staff at coral blue also scolded him for taking their business and i didn't appreciate that either. and one more thing was that it took almost 30 minutes for them to check us out a figure up the bill. not too professional.

Resort with a difference
the design of the resort made of mostly "bamboo" and "atap roof" very unique
7.7
had to travel a long way to get to the resort over 3 hours by aircon bus and another 1 hour by ferry, but it was all worth while as the resort was so beautiful. all staffs were friendly and very healpful.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
speak to resort staff who can recommend boat and transport hire instead of trying to haggle with private individual directly.
