Second rate at the best I the order was for king sized bed (not) tolet seat broken whould not flush ever after I reported it was not fixed. Other that that wasnt to bad except for the food that I didn't eat. I would not stay the again

Maxwell hotel is clean with great employees. Good location short walk to Osmena Circle. I have stayed at numerous hotels in this area and have found the Maxwell to be the best for the price.
Included breakfast at Maxims restaraunt but I found food to be cold when we ate there at 8 am. The room was clean and modern, comfortable beds with good CR, hot water, Cold aircon, nice mini mart in the lobby for last minute needs. I would recommend Maxwell to any one.

Maxwell Hotel - Pleasant budget hotel in Cebu City
Firm, comfortable bedding; New hotel; Bar next to lobby; Convenience store in lobby; Elevator; Fairly close to malls and shopping; Free wired internet access in room; Cabs readily available; Near Provincial Capital and Governor's residence.

This hotel is less than one year old on N Escario St, near the Provincial Capitol building, and also near Cebu Doctors' University Hospital. Upon check-in, and throughout my stay, the hotel staff was very friendly. The rooms were clean with firm bedding and air con. Comfort room had separate shower area with on demand hot water heater, (which worked very well). Standard western toilet w/out bidet. Bar/cafe downstairs in front of hotel for pleasant entertainment in the evening and the hotel offered free breakfast in the AM, which was adequate but not fantastic. Elevator lift was available, but somewhat small. A convenience store is in the lobby for snacks, drinks, and stuff you may have forgotten to pack. Staff was friendly and fun. The price was great, and I got an upgrade on one day at no additional cost, due to a booking error. I would certainly consider staying at the Maxwell Hotel again! Mabuhay!
Nightlife Tip:
There is a great little cafe/bar a few blocks away called "Brew's Point - Acoustic" which had great modern rock and reggae music playing each night I was there, along with a young college age crowd. Fuente Osmeña Circle is within a short taxi ride or about a kilometer walk, and has several restaurants and Robinson's available. Mango Street bars and nightclubs are also about the same distance away.

A little gem in the heart of Cebu City
The staff at The Maxwell were as professional as in any hotel that I've stayed at in the world. Lovely people with friendly and helpful attitudes. The rooms were spacious and very well maintained. After 1 week's stay I checked out the value of other hotels within the city and concluded that The Maxwell was the best value for money so I continued my stay here for a further 2 weeks. I would highly recommend utilising the services of the convenience store located in the lobby of the hotel as Elena and her team bend over backwards in their service and help to the guests at all times. Great massage parlour on offer as well; lovely staff. Overall, The Maxwell is a little winner....if you enter this hotel with a relaxed and friendly mindset that's exactly what you'll get back.

A little gem located 10 minutes from downtown Cebu. Great value for money compared to the 5 stars on offer, insuring a pleasant and comfortable stay. Though if traffic worries you, it's best to find a quieter location. When in Cebu, I wouldn't hesitate to stay anywhere other than The Maxwell again, for it's convenient location, helpful and friendly staff and value for money.

The Maxwell Hotel seems to be in a Hotel Area. It is located next to a heavy traffic street. That means, Rooms with Front to the Street like our one (208) are very noisy. We just had one night; therefore it is difficult to get an honest answer about the location. The staff was very friendly and could give us some good tips for shopping and dining. There is a big shopping mall around 500m away and more or less on the other street side you can find a McDo. Our Room was very hot and the AC was not that powerful. So we had to wait 2h for get around 23C. The Hotel is clean, more or less modern and the ratio with *** stars is ok. The only negative thing is the included breakfast in the Hotel Restaurant. The Hotel Restaurant does definitely not correspond with the Rest of the Hotel Quality. Service and Breakfast Quality were really low. You can choose between American, Standard and Pilipino Breakfast. We tried American and Pilipino. It seems that the Restaurant and the Hotel are not managed by the same Company.
Shopping Tip:
A big Shopping Mall is not to fare away. By Taxi is it around 30 Peso. The Problem, Taxi Drivers don't like Taxo Meter. Negotiated Taxi Prices are normally the double of the Meter Prices. Hotel to Airport is around 140Php and needs around 25-30 minutes at 9:00.

Would recommend the hotel to anyone but it needs to be clear what you are ordering when you book. As they have no website it isn't easy to know. The rooms were spotless, nicely decorated and the beds comfortable. The hall staff most welcoming as were reception staff. the restaurant staff were a bit stuffy but always polite. The hotel was well situated only about a 2 pound taxi ride from centre city and the security guard or hall porter always ready to get a taxi for you.

Friendly Maxwell
The staff is exstemely friendly and able to give their guests a warm homestay feeling. They are all very helpfull, nice and correct. The rooms are clean and complete for a short stay, however we have been here for 10 days first and came back to them for another 5 nights.

Generally we can say that we enjoyed our stay at The Maxwell most that all the hotel is very clean, the staff is very nice, clean and correct, friendly and helpfull. The rooms are acceptable for the rate charged. The hotel is good and central situated and the cities great shopping mall's are all within a taxi rate of 100 pesos away.
Shopping Tip:
Shopping mall's (cool and modern) are all in a reach of about 15 minutes by taxi, the mall's are large, clean, modern and have a great variety of restaurants and foodcourts.

Overall the stay at Maxwell Hotel was Good. The staff in the Hotel were very friendly, courteous and Helpful when we needed their help.
Room was clean, good shower with Hot Water, although bathroom was somewhat small for a foreigner like me standing 6' 3". Bathroom was respectable. Television and remote worked good, as I have stayed in many Philippine hotels where the remote does not work at all. Restaurant was clean, good design but service lacking and buffet could be much better. NO EGGS?? They also need to have a chef who can make omelets, like other hotels of this cost.
Shopping Tip:
Close enough to SM and Ayala Malls for shopping. Taxi was only 50 piso...about $1.00usd
