This was our 3rd visit to Cebu but first stay @Waterfront (Lahug). Our first good impression presented itself at the check in counter, We arrived about 4 hrs early before check in, unfortunately no available rooms yet (we needed 2 rooms), but promised us to have 2 rooms ready before noon. That was okay since we we went out to eat anyway, and were pleased that they took care of our luggage, and already assigned us our rooms, so by the time we're back from lunch, we just went directly to our rooms. The room was comfortable, especially since we stayed there for for 5 days. My problem however, on the temperature control (thermostat), the air con was always cold regardless of where I set it, so I ended up turning on and off to control it. The restaurant where they served the buffet is quite spacious, so it is able to accommodate a good surge of guests around 8AM, and the food selection is good. One thing I was disappointed,on the fruit selections, they always have slices of pineapple and watermelon and sometimes papaya. I always look forward for papaya everyday but that's the one they don't serve everyday. (Note: avoid the 8AM breakfast, they are slow to refill those empty dishes even coffee. The services however, is commendable from all aspects.
Overall,I don't mind checking in again the next time we're in Cebu.
Travel tip:
If you wish to go to the casino, if you're used to Vegas style, well, this ain't, but give it a try.

As a 4-star hotel, one would expect the best. Our stay at the Waterfront Cebu turned out to be mediocre. There was nothing bad about the service, or the amenities. The staff was friendly and helpful, the hotel generally clean. Everything was just okay, which shouldn't be the case. The room was standard-sized, no-frills kind. There were complimentary water, coffee and tea, and breakfast buffet.
Although I have nothing to complain about our stay, I would not pay top dollar to stay there again.

A Rewarding Experience
Good hotel for both the visitng business person and those traveling on vacation. The hotel serves excellent food in their Uno Cafe and the overall guest services for the Philippines is above average. Nice lobby lounge for lesiurely people watchingt and at night they have live music. The rooms are large with good furniushings. A real plus is the fact the hotel has free WiFi in the rooms and also at the lobby lounge.

I have stayed at this hotel many many times in the past 10 years with all my stayes being of equal enjoyment. In the past year I have seen an improvement at the front desk with more personnel to spped up the check-in and check-out processing. The hotel is easily accessed by a short taxi ride to the two main shopping and eating malls (Ayalla & SM) ib Cebu City. The average fare to Ayala The hotel also offers a free shuttle service to and from both malls servial times a day at no charge to the staying guest.
I woul highly recoomend this hotel for those wishing to have a safe, enjoyable stay while in Cebu.
Restaurant Tip:
Ayala has some excellent restaurants for those wishing a fast food or upscale dining expereince. If you want to try Filipino food I would highly suggest trying the "Laguna" at Ayala.

We have stayed at this hotel several times over the last few years and are disappointed that standards in general seem to be slipping. This applies from maid service through to restaurant quality.
I am afraid that we will look for an alternative hotel next time we are in Cebu.

I was at the for a couple of weeks and used all of the facilities at least once. I even met the latest American Idol! The hotel is well located and has an excellent roster of taxi drivers- you get issued with a slip with the taxi number on it so you can report issues etc.I would stay there again for sure
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Taxis are inexpensive. Get the taxi driver to take you for a sightseeing trip and to buy you a bananaQ snack.

I would definetely recommend The Waterfront in Cebu City,it provides great service with a friendly staff and very clean, it also has a very good Buffet restaurant with great food, The hotel is conveniently situated near shopping malls and sightseeing places to visit,and if on business the facilities are very good with Wireless Broadband Internet access in all the rooms and a Business Centre.

they have one of the best breakfast buffets, i have encountered. the lobby area is large with plenty of tables to sit at and enjoy a drink, food, or just chill to music played in early evening. The staff very cheerful and helpful in the best of filippino tradition. Cannot find much to fault here. Close to shopping malls and casino on premise. The rooms are well appointed and maintained. overall a very good place to stay..reasonable value

the thing i like about waterfront hotel in cebu is that it is very accessible to shopping malls and restaurant!

Its my first time stay in Waterfront hotel. With such a star rating hotel and Because of the given rates they have, I was expecting that their aminities and facilities was up to date with the new trend now... though they were not really as to obsolite compare to other hotels. Because there were other lower ranking hotel which are more hi-tech than waterfront, aside to its affordablility per se, you will really appreciated it becuase it worth the cost.
Nightlife Tip:
waterfront is very accessible and convinient to shopping malls such as ayala and it park. transportation is no problem. security is quite excellent. and breakfast is superb!
