the place is right next to the wharf/dockside in samal island. it's a fine place to relax. my kids love it there. they like the pool. the area is wide enough for kids to safely play around. tables and cottages are for free. a nice place for parties and other occasions. food is also good. the staff are generally good, just don't be surprised if they couldn't give you excellent services especially during busy days or when their resort has many guests.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
sometimes, on special weekends (usually saturday) they have fireworks display...

Nice family, or couple resort
Good rooms, food, pool, and billard tables. Beach is ok for swimming

disappointed at 1at, because our room was overbooked to two couples. after some complaining to manager, he gave us different room, and food compensation, so we then satisfied.
food/service both very good. we had fun shooting billiards. very nice large swimming pool, that kids will love. we really enjoyed going for midnight swim in ocean, beach was fine.
hotel room was sound proofed, clean, and good.

A Family Friendly Resort

The cottage were delightful. A verandah after you go out of your room. Looking at the beautiful landscape was a relaxing moment to us. The room was small but clean. Nice floor and well ventilated.
My negative feedback was the swimming pool. up to 3ft. only. Nothing more. Not a good idea for adult who want to enjoy swimming. Theres only 1 pool for all. No shades or umbrellas.
My son newly brought slippers after leaving it on the side of the poolwas g one after. We forgot to peel the size which I believe the basis of the one who steal that slipper was new.
Pool caretakers ignored. I proceed at the reception area and told them about my son stolen slipper. We dont have any replacement. The area was far from market or shop. Even the manager whos occupied on his laptop didnt mind our concerns. Maybe its peak season and they were too busy to attend us.
Just sad. lack of assistance creates negative impression.

this resort is just by the ferry port so its convenient for getting to and from the city. it may be better to stay on he island instead of the city, which i didn't like at all. the beds are very hard. the beach is rocky but most of the locals use the place as a picnic place. the pool is too shallow for swimming - mostly a kiddie pool as is the beach - too shallow.
the less than 24" tv was too small. no complimentary bottled water. one stupid thing - i went to go swimming and brought the towel from the room. i was informed that it was not permitted. and they don't issue pool towels. maybe better to just hide a towel in a bag and take it out later.
i thought it was a little expensive for philipines for what you get. they also don't have american food and the menu is limited. no where else to eat. there is also nothing to do on the island.

we stayed 10 nights at camp holiday while re-commissioning a boat to go back into the water. camp holiday is right next to the boat yard, so was very handy for us. the location also makes it easily accessible for walk on ferry passengers arriving from sasa, davao. there are no tea/coffee making facilities or fridge in the rooms, but the staff are happy to supply hot water and ice on request. tea/coffee is available at the restaurant for a reasonable charge. we ate most of our meals at camp holiday and really enjoyed the calamari! the air conditioning works well and the large beds are comfortable. free wifi is available most of the time, although download speeds are slow depending on traffic usage. we would stay again.

I was in a very comfortable room in the main building. The staff was pleasant and very friendly. There is a nice atmosphere with all the locals from Davao who comes to camp near the sea every night. The Food at the hotel restaurant was excellent but it takes between 20 and 25 minutes to be served. Be patient.
Swimming in front of the hotel was not very attractive as the swimming area is right next to where the Barge arrives.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Try to have your own transport, if not there is not much to do.
