nice hotel but staff is not that accomodating

the room lack couch- it would have been great if the room features comfortable sofas.
also, we had a hard time operating the TV set.
the wifi is great.
over all stay is nice.

Marco Polo hotel is centrally located in the city. Service is outstanding. Renovation was ongoing on the 7th and 8th floor so you will definitely hear some noise during the day and unable to really rest and relax. I've always stayed at Marco Polo because of their exceptional service and they live up to their standards.

hotel doesn't impose rules on non smoking in their non smoking floors. their policy is not enforced on non smoking in rooms. it is apparent they know about disrespectful clientele but in a country where eople smoke a lot, the hotel appear to be linient on this policy. in the hallways, they have a very strong chemical dispenser working 24/7 causing headaches and migraines. westerners in the hallways commented, "here we go again, the chemical capital of the world at work".
rooms have a stench so chemicals are poured generously everywhere.
Travel tip:
Breakfast seems to be the best in the city. I recommend for foreigners to book with breakfast. Filipinos tend to eat in for breakfast so there arent easy access to toast and eggs in the mornings. Most who serve breakfast don't open until 8 or 9 if any.

Marco Polo hotel is one of the best hotels in Davao City. As you enter the hotel lobby you are greeted by friendly hotel staff some even wearing a costume of the indigenous people of davao provinces which is pretty to look at. You can view some indigenous materials elegantly placed as lobby decorations reflecting a festive atmosphere of the place. I like the idea that despite its prominence, the hotel immersed itself in the culture of the place where it stands making the accommodation experience unique and remarkable.
Hotel Feature Tip:
Lazuli Spa located in the 2nd floor of the hotel is a must try.

Although I got some personal items stolen during cleaning service and me out of hotel, over all stay was comfortable.
I think that they need to improve their security upon accomodation. Buffet style meal was really great !

Marco Polo hotel is very convenient 5star hotel in the very hot Davao City. Lobby is very spacious serving drinks at the lounge. Staff are all very assistive.
Shopping Tip:
Across the hotel is the small shopping center for malongs.

Mr.Ritchelle one of there employee is so helpful and very informative ,his the one who help us a lot about good places to go for sightseeing ,it's our first time in that place and I would stay there again with my family together and tell my friends in Guam to stay in these hotel.
