Excellent downtown business & convention hotel
Amenities (spa, fitness center, pool & lobby bar) were more than we expected, and the food was very creative.

we chose the marco polo for a long weekend stay since we wanted a central location to explore the davao area. it had everything we expected, and was convenient both for walking (people's park & davao museum) and driving tours. we made good use of the well-equipped fitness center, and found dining on the 6th floor terrace to be a great experience. the staff provided excellent service and both check-in and check-out were quick and efficient. the hotel was very accomodating is getting us to the airport for our manila flight.
Shopping Tip:
The new Ayala mall called Abreeza is worth a few hours; as with their other malls in Manila and Cebu, it combines shopping, dining and social functions is a very nice way.

Expensive but still the best Hotel in Davao

I'm stayed at many hotels in Davao and the Marco Polo is still the best. Great buffet breakfast is usually included. Expensive but Agoda sometimes has good rates available. Internet access is available but expensive.
Shopping Tip:
The arcade just across the road is worth exploring for local handicrafts

I've stayed at Marco Polo for 3 times already and one thing I always appreciated was their buffet...this time, I was surprised at the lack of choices for their breakfast and dinner buffet...nothing like the past...was this cost-cutting?

i dont know if the management reads my comments but i must say each time i make a constructive criticism, upon my next visit, i notice the matter is addressed. i have been very critical of the buffet breakfast as until my most recent stay, it simply was not of a caliber befitting the marco polo, arguably the best hotel in davao. finally, the buffet breakfast has fresh fruits, including both papaya and mango (not syrup ladden canned ones as in the past) fresh non-added sugar juice like pineapple. previously the juices were all from concentrate and too sweet. and finally, the hotel has green leaf lettuces, not the cheap unnutricious iceburg lettuce. i was thoroughy impressed with the overhall of the buffet breakfast food quality and appearance.
Travel tip:
This hotel is always striving to better itself. But the staff remain a constant. Superb!

Great and lovely hotel. Center of the city.
Gives nice view of Davao - cityscape, landscape, seascape.

We enjoyed our stay in Marco Polo Davao. It's the tallest hotel in Davao City which can give you a great view of the city in the evening with surrounding lights turned on and the tallest mountain in the Philippines which you can only have a glimpse when the sky is clear at around 6am.
We love the amenities of the hotel. And their breakfast buffet, too. Lots of varieties.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Jack's ridge and crocodile park.
