nice hotel for small budget, but the only thing i do not like is the bad smell of the beddings we could not sleep for the whole night bcoz of the pillow and the blanket including the towel they do not wash it well, i suggest to please wash it well, all the staff are ok

Cheap Hotel with a great atmosphere

We had a great time at Ponce Suites, the location is really good. All thought it is hidden a bit, it is near shopping centers, coffee shops and bars.
I can absolutely recommend this hotel, to the traveller how wants to save a bit of money.

i booked this hotel for three nights through agoda. i keft after the first night because i felt it was so bad. it is very poorly located, the taxi drivers had difficulty finding the place. there was no running hot water. the bathroom was very dirty, there were dead insects and spiders in the shower. i girlfriend found the decor to be scary. i have nothing good to say about this hotel and would not recommend it to anyone

Interesting concept but poorly maintained

This hotel would have probably been in good shape ten years ago, but now, it is quite run-down and poorly maintained. Our whole room smelled like a restroom (the plumbing is probably old). I couldn't sleep because of the reeking smell. The toilet still smelled faintly of urine. The furnishings in the bathroom were old and looked dirty.
The room was a good size, but there was dirt on the floor sticking to our feet. There was no cable box when we arrived.
In all, I would have enjoyed the stay much more if the room was cleaner. I don't mind old furnishings, but then the hotel has to take more effort to make it clean! This place is due for an upgrade. It's a shame, because it really stands out among all Davao hotels.
Hotel Feature Tip:
If you are conscious about your MSG intake, ask them to hold the Magic Sarap when you order a meal.

artsy hotel in the suburbs

the hotel is filled with artworks by kublai millan which is the iconic artist of davao (his art can be seen in the airport, malls, etc.). the rooms are very basic though. there is no hot water in the cheaper rooms. the cafe on the rooftop is a very cool and cozy place to hangout, though the food is not that good. location is in the middle of the suburbs, you have to take a cab to get to the main streets or walk for several minutes.

I was at Ponce for5 nights,the staff was friendly and helpful, always willing to assist.. the restrant and bar is funky but cheap prices and good quality....rooms are average but adequete

has postage size towels and soap, so if you want a decent bath, bring your own. no blanket and when we asked for one, they gave us another sheet. no phones in the room!sink was not draining well. generally, the whole place was not satisfactory for us.
only advantage is we could walk to a fast food restaurant for meals or for shopping. staff however were nice and friendly and tried their best to please us.
Travel tip:
If you like art then you will like this place, but bring everything you need if you want to stay in this hotel. Have your own cell phone as there is no phone in the room.

Quirky but eclectic hotel

The Ponce' Suites is well located for exploring the city of Davao. The rooms are slightly dated, and some wear is evident, but the location, safety and security, and quirky art work lends and ambiance that's quite tolerable and enjoyable.
Nightlife Tip:
The K2 bar complex is only a short walk away, but if you aren't a twenty or thirty something, the Rest Bar Guitarra 8610 is a four minute walk just down the street.

Kitschy/quirky hotel w/great ambiance!

My buddy who'd never been to Davao before loved the place, ( he's "into" art )! This place has been designed/decorated top t bottom by an eccentric/eclectic artist,and some of his prolific works are pretty amazing! The rooms are a little dated and showing a little wear, but for the price, and with the place being clean and secure, who can complain!?! It's in a quiet residential neighborhood, but only five minutes walk from anything you'd need at the plazas surrounding the Ayaala Abreeza Mall, and the older, Victoria Mall. Groceries, drugs, toiletries, airline offices, bus tickets, fast food, laundries, coffee shops, souveniers, are all right there.
Nightlife Tip:
Only a five minute walk to the local's favorite resto bar, Guitarra 8610, or walk another ten minutes down the street, to the K@ bar hopping complex!
