Cleanliness, Atmosphere,Water frontage & view, Friendliness and efficient service by staff
Very slow wifi that costs money
We stayed at the Waterfront Insular in Davao recently. We thoroughly enjoyed our four night stay. The atmosphere of the hotel is stunningly tropical that made us feel on holiday mood. The staff serving us in the hotel are not only friendly but very polite and made us feel at home. We will recommend this hotel to family and friends and we will definitely come back.
Travel tip : It is a 15-minute cab drive to the city but the ambience, quiet and peacefulness of this hotel is well worth it.

Beautiful Gardens, nice rooms, great food, very nice pool, waterfront location
We stayed here two and a half years ago. This is still one of our two favorites in Davao. It has a pleasant, laid back resort atmosphere. The grounds, rooms, and public areas are clean and well maintained. The price is reasonable, the service is always courteous, prompt, and very professional. The food is the best we have eaten in Davao.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Visit some of the scenic spots nearby on Samal Island. A day trip or (an expensive)overnight at the romantic Pearl Farm Resort is a good choice. Also, Hagimit Falls is one of the most beautiful natural settings I have ever seen. It is a little hard to get to, but, well worthe the trip. Take a swim suit to both of these.

Pros are nice pool area, clean grounds, and good breakfast buffet
Overpriced, rude front desk staff
This hotel is more for company functions and business travelers with a large expense account, not so much for a nice relaxing getaway for a couple.
I arrived a day late because all flights from Manila were cancelled because of the typhoon. The room I reserved was not available, so I was forced to take a different room. The front desk staff was unwilling to make adjustments, and even tried to charge me for breakfast that was already included in the room charge. They boat that they have 5 resturants, but I was there for over 1 week and never saw all of them open at the same time. The food that I did eat there was good. The breakfast buffet was a little better than most other Philippine hotels I have stayed in. Other than the front desk staff, the other employees were friendly and helpful. Don't pay the high internet charge....take a taxi to town and use the internet cafe. You will come out way ahead and get to see some of Davao City also. I will be making more trips to Davao, but I won't be staying at this hotel.
Shopping Tip : The shopping malls are only a short taxi ride away
