Beautiful, tropical, setting.

Love this hotel. Have found a home away from home. Older hotel (built 1979?) but well kept. Beautiful, tropical, setting on Samal Bay with view of Samal Island. Great value, service, and staff. Four weddings and several parties occured during my 2 week stay. Only problems were tiny ants in my room and cooling system dripped a little water from ceiling. Mentioned this to staff at check out who said they would fix. Also, "Cafe Uno" breakfast buffet was same fare each morning and picked over by 9am. Get there early for best selection. I will stay here again.
Restaurant Tip:
Try the grilled blue heron fish with rice at "La Parilla". Tasted like fish steak. Delicious!

Good place
It has the best seaside accommodation and the staff are friendly and helpful

I stayed the just in the evening because in the daytime I had to attend some official business. But the short stay was pleasant. The staff were efficient and courteous. The breakfast buffet was above average. This place is good for both business and R&R purposes. I hope I can be back in this place soon again.

the hotel staff are accommodating... nice room with wooden floor, one thing i liked most, since most of the hotels have carpeted floor.the food is good.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
port for samal island is just near.. you can take the boat going to different resorts in samal..

we stayed only one night at this hotel. but i would not have minded staying a few days longer. the rooms were nice and spacious. hotel staff very friendly and helpfull. there was a nice pool. taxi from hotel to town center was not expensive. breakfast was not huge, but fine for me.

Waterfront has more of a resort feel - lots of trees, view of the sea (not for swimming though), wooden furniture etc. It's a quite relaxing get a away place. The hotel is located near the airport, about 20 minutes from the city center. If you want easy access to the downtown shopping area, this may not be the hotel for you. Don't worry about food though, since the hotel has 5 restaurants to choose from. There are also a few restaurants just 5 minute cab rides away. The biggest upside to its location is the nearby beach resorts - the hotel has its own docking area to conveniently get you to the resorts via 5 minute boat rides! You just have to inform the front desk and they'll call for a boat to pick you up in no time for a very reasonable price (150 PHP / 2 pax). If you're feeling extra lazy, you can opt to just take a dip in the hotel's own pool and jacuzzi. I wish they could've squeezed in a gym somewhere in there huge lot - I was able to go for a run along their driveway though (about 10-15 min stretch).
I was with my mom for this specific trip. We were in a superior room, which was spacious enough for both of us. 2 big beds, flat screen cable TV, free wifi (didn't make use of it though) 24 hour room service, large bathroom (no bathtub), wooden floors and own balcony. There was a problem with the AC thermostat, which tended to get a bit cold, but no biggie for me. Some of the paint on some furniture could have used a touch up. Tip: Do NOT get room 217 - it's right in front of some loud pipes obstructing your view outside the window. We were put here first, but they quickly moved us when we made a request.
Shopping Tip:
Take a 150 PHP cab ride to Aldevinco on CM Recto for Davao homegrown products - malongs, bags, accessories, etc.
