5th time here
Nice gardens, Nice pool, Ok free breakfast buffet

One reason i chose this hotel is i expected the convenience of a free boat shuttle service from their private pier to Paradise Island Resort across the strait but for reason of it being 'Peak Season" it was not available. So we had to take a taxi to the "normal" pier about 7 minutes away. The breakfast buffet was satisfactory and the staff even allowed us to pack some pastries and sandwiches to take back to our room.

Food here is veeery expensive. So aside from the free breakfast buffet, we would rather experience Davao's native dishes by going to Yellow Fin Restaurant which is known for their "greaseless chicken" and "adobo tail of tuna." Beer in the hotel costs 145 pesos which is simply outrageous as San Mig Light should only cost about 35 pesos or maybe 60 pesos at a very fancy bar. So be sure to buy beer at a convenience store and stock it in the room fridge.

Its a nice hotel only I asked to check on our card key because I spent a hard time opening the room door only to find out the next day that the door's batteries were low batt. I hope they double check the rooms first before they give them to clients.

Nice out of the way resort for the whole family

The resort hotel, though not located in the downtown area/central business distrcit of Davao City, is perfect for a great R&R or any business trip. With its big and comfortable rooms with free wifi, sprawling landscapes, adequate sized swimming pool and 5 restaurants to choose from, one will surely enjoy a comfortable stay in this hotel. Do try Cafe Uno for its yummy breakfast buffet. Just be sure to get a room in the ground level though as there's no lift in this hotel. Taxis abound inside the hotel so transport is no problem. Meanwhile, SM Lanang Premiere and the airport is a mere 10-15 mins. away from the hotel gate.
However, the hotel management refused to give us the merienda buffet available upon arrival to guests who booked through their website. It would have been a plus if they considered providing us with the same amenity since we were booked for 6 days, though we booked through Agoda.
Travel tip:
The beach front, though not suitable for swimming, is a perfect way to start the day. It is also the jump-off from the city to Samal Island.

It was really great to visit this hotel after 26 years ,we arrived late night with my best friend ,the hotel is old ,some part has been fix ,but still you can see the oldness of the hotel, they give as room far from the lobby ( building B room 310) so we need to walk to the open alley and that was so scary ,i ask them to change as a room near by the lobby at first they said it was full ,so we went out for dinner ,when we came back i ask again ,and this nice guy said ok ,so it was late night already so i told them that we transfer in the morning , so i wake up early in the morning to pack our things i open the curtain i realized that the room location was not that bad ,view was great ,i love the coconut tree in front of the balcony and the green at clean grass in front of our room ,food is great all i am expected for a pilipino food or davao food like bibingka or puto ,people in the restaurant are very nice ,my friend and i might be coming back with our children sooner.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Try to visit Bluejaz the port is walking distance from the hotel which is so cheap or if you a budget try a day tour to pear farm

Very nice hotel with great pool for kids

The rooms are a decent size and the beds are comfortable. It it a "standard" tropical South East Asian decent large hotel in that there are blocks of rooms surrounding an area of gardens with a large swimming pool and number of restaurants.
The breakfast was very good aswell with a reasonable variety of things on offer from the breakfast buffet.
The man that climbs the coconut trees to keep them in good order is an intersting spectacle.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
The Paradise Island wharf is about 1 Km away. It is also possible to charter a boat for 200 Pesos from the Waterfront Insular hotel. To go to Samal Island and explore on your own the Sasa wharf is also about 1 km away from the hotel. On the island you can do deals with motorbike or motorbike and sidecar drivers to get around else the main roads have buses. The waterfall is worth a look.

Good Hotel but couldn't stay there

When we arrived for our stay for one night, we were informed that the hotel had broken a watermain to an entire building, and as a result, we were forced to move to another hotel. The front desk personnel was especially helpful to re-locate us, but unfortunately, the "similar" hotel was very, very bad and we would NEVER stay at that hotel again. It's supposedly 4 star, but one of the WORST hotels I've ever stayed at.
