Staff are very accommodating... even though we made an advance on-line booking, we have been placed in a room that are leaking inside because it was raining when we arrived there. the staff put a pale inside to catch the water leaking from the ceiling...we have no choice but to stay there coz they are fully booked during that time...may i suggest that if the guest made an advance on-line booking they should be given room that are due to them coz they already paid it in advance...please do not let your guest occupy rooms that require repair/renovation or whatsoever so you will not be criticized... not fully satisfied with the accommodation...

helpful staff clean rooms
If you pay "room only" rate, there is a wide choice of 8 American breakfasts! items not available on resto menu
set breakfast not very filling As we arrived at the airport after 7pm I only booked a standard room for the first night. We wanted to view the situation of the hotel and see the De Luxe rooms before booking further nights. We were shown one of these rooms on the first night before retiring , and it was good enough to persuade us to stay at the hotel rather than look elsewhere.
I did my usual checks - does the shower work and how well does the TV work? Both were satisfactory . Our night at the standard room was OK - a pillow that felt like a sack of potatoes and a tiny toilet!
However when we went to reception to change rooms, the one we viewed the previous evening had been taken. I checked the alternate choice and the TV volume switch was stuck - I could not turn it up or down and it was unreasonably loud. So we asked for another room and fortunately this next option was good. The room was very clean and well furnished, and the staff very helpful.
The restaurant cooking is good . However as I spent 55 years living in England I only like to have Filipino food once a day, and on one occasion my first two choices (hamburger , spaghetti) were not available. However there is a modern development of restos in San Nicolas which is a 5 minute tricycle drive away - so we went to Shakey's instead!
The out-of-town situation of Northview suited us : it is a quiet place , a good distance from traffic noise. And when you take a trip into Laoag City, there is a lovely view of the twon when you cross the river bridge.
Restaurant Tip : there is an outdoor barbecue every evening near the hotel

Ask for rooms at the front with more windows.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Attractions: Church Paoay, Vigan, coffee lunch at Saramsam, Laoag (near Museum Ilocos Norte), Halo Halo in Chowky near the Cathedral, Fort Ilocandia not worth the detour, hire a calesa to bring you around!
