2. Location, it is a good place to go to bars and party. It is a simple basic hotel...a place to sleep at a low price. If that is what you are looking for you will be happy.
The front desk quotes different prices to different people. It is best to book on the Internet as you will pay double or even more if you just walk in and try to rent a room This hotel is an aging, mid-quality property. The room was clean and the water was hot. There was some mold in the shower surround. The breakfast buffet was very basic and of low quality. The service in the resturant was nil. The front desk was pleasant and helpful. The Internet, which was expensive at 1000p/24 hours was out of service for the entire hotel for the weekend and no technition was available to fix it until monday.
Nightlife Tip : There is a friendly billard bar one block to the left of the hotel toward the Greenbelt from the hotel. Turn left at the light and go 1/2 blk. it is on your right next to a Korean resturant on the second floor. Just past the Korean resturant there is an Internet cafe with good speed and low prices

furnishings, bedsheets,location The hotel is a bit outdated. They should invest on new bedsheets at least and some new furnishings. The room had a musty smell to it. The location is not as convenient although there are a few decent restaurants within the area. The staff are friendly. The area is not suitable for couples with young children.

The rooms are spacious and well furnished. There is an inroom safety deposit box. It is easy to get to from the airport. Location can be a problem. A few beggars and street salespeople are in the area. I have stayed at this hotel several times and I always go back because it is great value for money. Staff are exceptionally friendly and the general ambience is good. The breakfast menu is adequate.
Shopping Tip : Easy to get to Glorietta and also SM Megamall at Mandaluyong.

clean rooms, staff are very courteous, rooms are within American Standard. Nice restaurants around the area. Too close to strip bars. Far from known malls. We enjoyed our stay in Best Western. The accomodation are adequate and within what you expect from Best western in America. Clean, spacious, room service are awesome, breakfast ok if you like asian breakfast otherwise, you can order your American breakfast at room service. The staff are professional and well trained, courteous and willing to make guest stay as easy and painless as possible. Massage parlors in neighboring blocks are great, 500 pesos for a full body massage, we had a lot of those. can't beat a 10 dollar massage. You can walk around and you will find some good establishment. Glad that there was some places decent at the area, not just strip bars. We found a great Italian resaurant (Foccasia) and bar/lounge (360), disco club ( bureau), just at the corner 1 block from the hotel. Very classy. Will say in Best western again....

Near to many resturant, stores, malls pool is dirty, no gym, no free internet.
not a place for your family, near many bars and red light distric... I always travel to Manila to shop...
just needed a simple cheap hotel near the mall and this was it... its no holiday inn. but you get a good sleep and save money to shop...

it was clean,,good bed,,good hot water,all the people that work there,,were nice,,and want to help you food was ok,,maybe needs to be hoter i stay there a few times,,i will always go back there,,i feel very safe and happy there,,many things to do near by,,,if u are single,many bars around,

They only have 6 parking slots for the whole hotel and rooms are average with worn out towels. The only hotel in the world that has only 6 parking slots and their towels that are supposed to be white are light gray in color and are worn out. You can feel the bed is old already. Lastly, front desk people are not as friendly and helpful as expected.
Travel tip : Do not go to this hotel.

I have stayed at this hotel in May 2009, and I was given a newly renovated room on the 21st Floor. The breakfast at that time had more fruits.
The staff were friendly. I decided to use this hotel again on my way home because I thought all the rooms were renovated and I will get the same type of room I had in May. But this time I was given a room on the 16th Floor which had a smell. I have requested to change the room but the selections were not any better. I was a little bit dissapointed with the room and breakfast this time. Based on my over all experienced I would rate this hotel three star not 4 star until all the rooms are completely renovated.
Nightlife Tip : close to lots of restaurants and bars.

Great accommodations. Very close to stores and restaurants. Service needs improvement. Room service was non-responsive. Housekeeping slow. We stayed at the BW Astor for three nights. The location is wonderful. Close to shopping and restaurants. We called room service twice for food and although they said it would be sent up, it never was...both times. So, we ordered from a restaurant who delivered and when that got there, we were required to come down from the 16th floor and get it from the delivery person. We also called for house keeping (needing tissue) and it took two phone calls to get a response.
Restaurant Tip : Many restaurants nearby. For when room service is non-responsive.

Great location, good security, friendly staff, very near most anywhere you want to go in Makati. Nothing much to say on the negative side, except that the hot water tap wasn't hot enough. Maybe the air in the floor hallway needs freshening up. I have stayed here before, and this is a very good hotel. The room I stayed in was spacious, clean and comfortable. It had a TV, a fridge, a minibar, and a tub. Breakfast buffet was excellent. Well the selection was not as diverse as some 5 star hotels, but what was served was excellent. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Service people were unobtrusive. On the negative side, the water heater for the tub in my room wasn't doing very well, so I didn't get to enjoy the hot bath I wanted. The air in the hallway of my floor needed freshening up, you can smell cigarette smoke. But that didn't get in the way of me enjoying my stay. I'd stay here again. Highly recommended.
Hotel Feature Tip : Take the hotel taxi. For 200 pesos you get a nice car, a polite driver, a safe ride and he'll take you anywhere in Makati very quickly. The street taxis can be a hit or miss thing.. Sometimes you get a good driver, sometimes you don't.

This is a very clean and efficient hotel near the heart of Makati. The hotel has a wonderful buffet breakfast. The room was large and very elegant with a wonderful shower. During our second day there was water leaking from our ceiling. Maintenance checked it out but did not do anything about it at that time. The cost for internet connection is too high, $4 per hour. We were wonderfully surprised by the appearance of the hotel and room. After spending several weeks in the Visayas this was a welcome treat. This hotel could be in any major city in the US with its cleanliness and charm. The staff was very efficient and helpful. The location is ideal for going to the shopping area of Makati or finding a decent restaurant. We found one nearby that had entertainment and good food for a very reasonable price.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : If you wish to sightsee in Manila or Makati you can bargain with a taxi driver for a given fee and a number of hours.

It's been 10 months since I stayed at this property and it is always nice to be greeted by a "Welcome back" and a sincere smile. I booked this property as a economy hotel, and it is safe, comfortable,but as a CON.. bathrooms really need upgrading, there is never good linen, bad water pressure, and cheap soap amenities. I work for the USA hotel industry and this property as a economy hotel is really a lower class "ROOM" bathrooms really need upgrading, there is never good linen, bad water pressure, and cheap soap amenities.Breakfast food is adequate, but eat else where for other meals.. I like this property for the sum paid for, also it is adequatly safe and near Makati for shopping. Beware of the night life around the corner, lots of entertainment can be had
Shopping Tip : Makati and Rockwell shopping areas are within a 10 min cab ride... all are quality shopping Malls.

The pool should be cleaned more often. The Best Western Astor is situated in Makati, Manila close to the City Centre with the Greenbelt Mall, Makati Square, Park Square and many restaurants and bars. Once you have accepted the fact that the hotel is situated within one of Manila's Red Light districts the advantages are clearly the close distance to central Manila and the very low rates you have to pay if you book your stay online. The service is good and the comfort of the Hotel is a little bit higher than average though not especially high.
Shopping Tip : Check out Greenbelt Mall for everything from shopping, entertainment to food.

security very pleasent and helpfull tradesmen leaving tools in hallways and areas that are being renovated need to have fumes blocked from areas where people are staying
rooms need more lighting Upon arrival to the hotel you are greeted by friendly security staff .Once inside the staff at the counter were very efficient and pleasent and arranged our rooms with minimal fuss.The room was pleasent but could do with some extra lighting as the rooms were very dim at night even with all lights on.Bathroom was clean and tidy with linen changed each day.The breakfast menu was very good and changed each day.The evening meals seemed to be expensive compared to other resturants in the area but the service was good. I had an early morning check out which i pleased to say was hassle free.All in all my stay was pleasent and staff were very helpfull,amentities were more than adequate.I would not hesitate to stay at the hotel whenever im staying in makati in the future as this is my second time staying there.
Shopping Tip : take a walk down Makati Ave to the shopping area of glorietta and landmark
