Very budget kind of stay

Room needed to be constantly cleaned due to sharing of facilities with other guests. Common areas in the hotel are clean excepts for rooms and its toilet. Overall the stay was good and will be coming back.

Shelter of an unsettling city

Buoy Hostel was the first place we set anchor in the Philippines. And it promised a good start. Having to change our itinerary due to the cancellation of the ferry from Manila to Palawan, we recieved advice from the owner of the hostel, and changed our destination to Puerto Galera/Sabang. Though Manila is not a pleasing city, Buoy preserves a quiet and chill-out ambience. The hostel has a restaurant and provides good Filippino and international dishes with reasonable prices.
Travel tip:
The airport fixed-rate taxi is a scam. Walk a bit to the main road and get a metered taxi will cost you around 120PHP to get to Buoy. Manila's old town Intramuros has a city wall where you can walk on and have a better perspective of the around.
