Discovery Suites Hotel, Manila

The Discovery Suites is a very good standard of accommodation in Ortigas, Manila. It is very well located for 3 large shopping malls in what is pre3dominantly a busines district within the city. Taxis are easily available and very low cost to anywhere else in the city, but journey time can be long during peak period during the day. taxis are metered, but offering a little extra when you get i the taxi usually stops you getting ripped off and badgered for extra. the Discovery Suites although away from central makati is well priced ad significantly cheaper than hotels down town. Better to stay here and take a taxi when you want to spend time there. The evenings are quiet with little traffic noise. The staff are very professional and hel;pful from the doormen to the cleaners and Management. I would certaily stay there again.

WE ALWAYS THOROUGHLY ENJOY OUR STAY AT DISCOVERY SUITES. The staff are amazingly friendly and so helpful. The food is great and service is second to none. The location is perfect as its in close proximity to malls and some great restaurants. The rooms are well maintained, beds are very comfortable but rooms are a little tired. The facilities on offer are also fantastic, great pool and gym. The wifi on the 2 floors is most convenient. We will continue to remain loyal guests to Discovery upon our return.

I've stayed here a few times a few years back and was always impressed by the facilities, the service and the food. Not to mention the location. However the rooms don't seem that well-maintained. It feels lived-in -- like everything is 10 years old. My room was a 1-bedroom suite but facing the wall of the building next door. So it was really dark even during the day. The size of the room though is great, and the working kitchen and refrigerator is a great help but then again you are surrounded by good restaurants outside the hotel in all price ranges. The breakfast buffet sadly was a disappointment. It was chaotic and many platters were not refilled even if it was still 9am. Not a relaxing experience at all because many people were waiting in line. Fortunately though the staff is warm, hospitable and helpful. The front-of-house, the bellboys and the maintenance staff were perky, courteous and extremely friendly which makes it a pleasant place to step into after a long day. The location is also excellent, being right smack in front of the Podium mall and walking distance to 3 other malls. This place is ideal for shoppers or families who like to be in the center of the action without having to endure the traffic.
