Constant noise despite notification to mgt.
The bathroom was filthy and the drain backed up despite the motels attempts to fix.
The TV worked only occasionally.
It is no where near the Embassy which it claimed to be.
The waiter took our order for breakfast with out saying only the Continental was free and we were charged $20.00 for two.
There is no possible way we would use this Hotel again even if it were free. The place was not at all clean, the service as indifferent at best and it was not at all conviently located. The food was expensive and not particularly good. The maitenance took long lengths of time for response and never fixed anything properly. All in all, it was the worst place w have ever stayed at in Manila.
Travel tip : It wasn't really convienent to anything.

professional staff, very clean, good price for the economy traveler. could not control temperature of AC in the room. The hotel staff was very friendly and professional during my stay. The room was very clean and comfortable. The house keeping staff was very friendly and professional. I had a couple of issues with the room and when i brought them to the hotel staff they corrected them right away. I brought a camera with me and the hotel loaned me a transformer for the room so i could charge the battery of the camera because local power is 220v. The hotel restaurant is very nice and friendly but they charge american prices for their meals.
Shopping Tip : from this hotel you are about a 5 minute taxi ride from the major shopping malls in manila.

clean and the staff were good old.needs updating the air condioner was noisy,fridge noisy,the bath tub leaked water somewhere,breakfast was terible i would not stay here again,value for the dollar was ok,but i'd rather spend a little more,and get something better...staff very nice nd helpfull..wireless worked good in the lobby

The hotel is reasonably clean and not too cramped. A fridge in the room was a welcome feature, missing in many hotels. Be careful of the “taxi scam” that is very evident at this hotel. The hotel gets you a taxi. The taxi offers to drive you to your destination for a “special” fixed price (no metre used). I noted the quoted figure and went and hailed a “metered” taxi each time. In every case the quoted was 3 times the actual. As a budget hotel it is hard to get too picky. The walk up stairs to your room, with your bag, could be looked at. This is not too bad after your bag is in your room, until it is time to lug your bag down for check out.
The “stock take” when you arrive in your room is a novelty… you must sign for each item in the room…towels, sheets, bathmat…etc..etc. not what you want when you first arrive and the “stock take clerk” is not leaving until he has his signatures. Be careful of the “taxi scam” at this hotel. It can cost you 1000’s of pesos even more than what you paid for the room. This could not be classified as a friendly or welcoming hotel. It was reasonably clean and comfortable, however if you have the “free” included breakfast remember nothing is free.

Location sucks, very inconvienent none of the taxi drivers had a clue where it was.
First time i have had my wife ask to show her I.D. at check in, also was required to sign a room inventory sheet. Wi fi was availabe in the lobby but was at a charge of 150php per day. The free breakfast consisted of a plate of warm bread and butter, though it was very good.
Room was large and clean it had two full size beds, and a ref. though it wasn't stocked.
Staff wasn't very friendly.
Best part was the price of beer in the KTV bar at 3 for a 100php. The food in the resturant was expensive.
I wouldn't stay there again unless i just wanted a place to rest and nothing else.

There are little cockroaches that sometimes show up. They dont have a gym, health club or fitness center at the hotel, but in the neighboorhood. It is not free internet. They have nicer areas in Manila or Makati that you can stay. You can live without the Old Swiss Inn Breakfast... some toasts, butter and gelly. Taxis that stay in front of the hotel usually dont use taximeter and are over priced.
Travel tip : Dont walk too much alone at night in this area.

Location and comfort as this is the third time I have used this Hotel in the past 3 years Please go to Country Inns and Suites and check out what a continental breakfast is. I believe this Hotel could do alot better in internet descrption when it is claimed that complimentary breakfast is offered and only serves bread and coffee (as a combat veteran our prisoners recieve better hospitality. It would be in the best interest of Garden Plaza not to even offer anything and delete their claim in the internet. I was very content with my usual stay at the Garden Plaza. My wife I have always enjoyed going to this Hotel because it is usually quiet even though there is a Fire Department close by. We also enjoy the area where it is located and the comfort it offers with a professional atmosphere. This year I noticed Garden Plaza offered complimentary breakfast to their guests. Sad to say this does not even qualify as continental. I stress that this false claim of compimentary breakfast statement be stricten from the internet.
As a Combat Veteran I know our prisoners were treated better than only having a roll and coffee.
Shopping Tip : Robinsons Mall is within walking distance or you may take a trike, jeepny, and taxi for a small fee

Convenient location near Malate. The rooms are a bit dated. Got upgraded to a larger room as the hotel was nearly full. Good staff. No Major problems.

Nice big rooms, very helpful staff, big lounge areas, good food Rooms badly lit and in need of a coat of paint, difficult to find A pleasant stay for a night, cost was very reasonable and the food in the restaurant was very good. The free breakfast was just bread and coffee. The room was spacious but very badly lit giving the appearance of being dingy, needed some painting here and there but was basically clean. Taxi driver could not find it and taxis outside hotel were not metered. Overall a good stay for a short time but not too good for a longer stay.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Dont use the hotel taxis waiting outside, they charge 2-3 times the cost of a metered taxi.

Near attractions place in the old Manila. Breakfast is not good, very expensive. I like this place because it is near the park and it is located in the old city. The places around is very beautiful and very easy for us to travel. People are very hospitable. They rendered good service.

Very good place and very affordable. It is a very good hotel to stay at. The staff are very accomodating and hospitable. The hotel is very clean and organize. It is also near the transportation and business area.

The far and few staff that are friendly. Some staff area looks dead in their face. Location is quite bad. Some taxi-drivers dont even know the place. My hotel room comes with 3 faulty lamps and it take quite a while to get them fixed after 2 reminders. Breakfast is forgettable. Location is too far out it is almost impossible to go anywhere on foot. Taxis at the hotel lobby do not go by meter and they tends to charge a flat rate which is often much higher.
Room is dull and the moment i step into it, it almost put me to sleep and with 3 faulty lamps, it made it worse.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel has very simple standard. The taxi driver had great difficulty in finding it. I won't recommend this hotel to people as long as you don't only want to sleep in the hotel all the time. The location is isolated and difficult to find.
