Whenever I am in Manila I stay at the Makati Palace Hotel. I have tried other hotels in the area but this one is my favourite. The staff are always friendly and helpful, the rooms are cleaned every day and the range of food available in the restaurant and the rooftop pool bar is always extensive. Security is better than a lot of hotels, the doormen don't let strangers just wander in and this is comforting when you are a young lady travelling alone.

The hotel is located right in the middle of the "Red Light" district in the Philippines. It is close to several eating places and malls however not a great hotel for families with small children.
Nightlife Tip:
There are tons of bars located on the street right in front of the hotel.

a lot of happening inside and outside the palace that will give you fun, excitement & relaxation.

staff were friendly, place is good considering the affordable price we paid. though it would be nice to upgrade the comforters in your superior room. change the comforters to plain colours and throw the printed old designs.
Travel tip:
Superior rooms are okay overall, but if you have extra money (if it's not so much difference) go w/ the deluxe room. :)

I got a smoking de luxe room but it does not mean that the smell of smoke must be there inside the room. Actually I booked for 2 rooms on the smoking floor. The bad part is that the other room with the kitchenette had this distinctive smell of ciggarette smoke in it. Maybe because prior to us the occupant might have been smoking inside the room. I have to resort of buying for us an air freshener just to get rid of the smell but it would not get remove. Maybe they have to check the room first or at least do something before allowing another occuppant to come in

We were checked in by a lovely, smiling, friendly girl on the front desk. Unfortunately, she could not accomodate us with a non-smoking room but she said they would "spray" it for us. When we entered the room it absolutely stank of smoke and the "spray" did not help much. We decided to put up with it as we were only staying for two nights but as the afternoon wore on during a nap we discovered that the noise from the air con was intolerable. Decided to take a shower before going out and there was no hot water. Complained to the front desk and were transferred to another room which was no better than the first. Managed to stay in the room overnight but because of the noisey a/c we asked the fornt desk to transfer us again but were shown the room we were allocated originally!! Decided to bite the bullet and paid php1,500 for an upgrade to an "executive room" which was adequate.
Hotel Feature Tip:
Try not to stay there unless you are staying in a room above superior.
