The hotel is just far enough away from Ermita and
Malate to cut out the traffic noise while still only being a ten minute taxi ride away. There are some good restaurants within five minute safe walking distance from the hotel (Harbourside is a particularly good one). The bar has some excellent Filipino music groups starting at 9 p.m. each night - can especially recommend Saturday night for chilling out and listening to / requesting a wide range of music styles.

I've stayed in a number of Manila's finest hotels but this was my first stay at The Manila Hotel. It may not be the most modern but it has a certain charm, style and a air of class that none of the others have. And the lobby is wonderfully grand.
- Travel tip : Harbour View Seafood Restaurant is just a 5 minute walk and is a "must-do" for dinner if you like seafood and good service and a fantastic view of the Manila skyline. Rizal Park is literally across the road & Intramurous is within walking distance too.
