From the grand entrance to the tap room to the exquisite service to the views. What more is needed. Well for me this is the only hotel in Manila, it reeks of history and whilst it shows its age occassionally (it was opened in 1912 you know), it's old world charm is enchanting. The staff are friendly, helpful and just downright nice, it is a joy to stay here. Think of it, wake up early, have agreat breakfast at the grill, and walk over to intramurous and enjoy the history of the original spanish city. Back top the hotel before it gets to hot, into the pool and then - a game of golf, in view of the hotel in the afternoon - Sound like heaven - it is to me.
This is a great hotel, fantastic service and a level of comfort above the rest. I love to stay here and simple feel it is absolute pleasure.
Rooms a little old and lifts a little slow - but really who cares with view over intramurous and the bay.
- Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Intramurous - the old spanish city. From Fort Santiago to St Augusten church - a cultural overload.

Here we go. This is the most beautiful hotel I never seen. Okay, I m still young but i ve already traveled in beautiful place in Europe qnd i can say that this hotel is amazing.
Firstly, you got the entrance. The ceiling is just so beautiful (made with a very precious Filipino Wood). The welcoming staff is really friendly and they really take care of you and your stuff.
Then, the rooms. Again beautiful. It is old fashionned but it is definitaly good. The bed are really nice and comfortable. The view on Manilla is amazing. Maybe the TV is a little bit small and old (not a flat screen)
Finally, the breakfast. Just perfect, you can find all the food that you want. The cooker is great and can make you tasty omelets. The fruits are fresh and the bread is definately as good as in Europe (which is rare in Philippine).
This hotel is definately a great 5 stars. It sounds like a dream to sleep there.
- Amazing entrance

We love this hotel for the kindness and sincere smiles of the staff - you can tell that everyone is well trained to ensure a guest's comfortable stay. We also enjoyed the music group in the club - superb singers! The lobby is impressive and well laid out, and the various restaurants offer delectable fares from around the world - no need to go out for fine dining or clubbing.
Impressive lobby and very welcoming staff. You can really tell that the staff is well trained in service. You feel good being in this hotel, even if it is not the most modern compared to Shangrila.
The breakfast selections could be improved with better selections and more fruits (bananas, mangoes, papaya, etc). The rooms could use some freshening.
- Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Nice little shop in the hotel. The over sized Mall of Asia is a short taxi ride and plenty of shopping. We toured Intramuros using a small and colourful horse carriage available across the hotel. Try and negotiate a good price. A real experience riding in this amidst a crazy traffic.

Generally speaking a very nice hotel if you are in a group or on business, not if you are alone or as a couple. I found it somewhat amusing that when checking out they make you wait whilst they check your mini bar usage - for a five star hotel it is somewhat demeaning for the guest and not befitting of the standards of such a hotel.
Clean, spacious, bright and extremely friendly staff
Very high prices for mini bar and internet, a little distance away from the main drag.
Manila Hotel - Fantastic!

At almost 100 years old, Manila Hotel is steeped in history. The staff have the best of Filipino hospitality; and the food - continental, European, Asian cuisine - is absolutely a gastronomic delight. A 4-stringed orchestra plays in the main lobby during the day, and the bar at night likewise provides acoustic music in a cozy, intimate setting. Having housed historical figures such as General Douglas MacArthur and countless foreign presidents, Manila Hotel is nestled in the bosom of history with surrounding museums and other historical sites. A stay at the hotel is a travel through time and to the heart of Philippine contemporary culture.
- Nightlife Tip : The hotel is a $1 taxi ride away from the lively, bohemian strip of Malate with its restaurants, sidewalk cafes, and famed night life.

I looked at this hotel everyday when I was still a student studying in Manila and wondered when I will get the chance to spend a night there. Finally did it and I am very satisfied with the experience.
Location. Bayside and Rizal Park is just outside the hotel premises.
Can't think of any.

The hotel is just far enough away from Ermita and
Malate to cut out the traffic noise while still only being a ten minute taxi ride away. There are some good restaurants within five minute safe walking distance from the hotel (Harbourside is a particularly good one). The bar has some excellent Filipino music groups starting at 9 p.m. each night - can especially recommend Saturday night for chilling out and listening to / requesting a wide range of music styles.
