Great location, poor room

I was on the 12th floor. The room had a low pitch hum, maybe from the aircon units which nearly drove me mad.
Travel tip:
Maybe the hum is only confined to rooms on the 12th floor. I'd check.

Check in was breezy. The hotel is within walking distance of Mall of Asia. The amenities weren't what you'd expect for the price. I know the philosophy is for simplicity but simplicity doesn't mean just the bare bones. Would have been nice to have gotten a more comfy bed, or a more pleasing look to the room.
The hotel was overall a great place to stay. Service was phenomenal. I clogged the toilet at 2am and was able to call front desk and have somebody come by to bring me a plunger. The guy insisted on doing it for me, but I waved him off. It was 2am and I did not want my hubby and my baby to wake up.
We got breakfast included with our two night stay. Each time was great; they had a variety of breakfast favorites on buffet. One of my gripes was the wi-fi. It really should already be included with the stay itself. I had to pay an additional Php100 for each hour of it. Not good. It was very easy though requesting for it. Also loved the airport transfer service. While it was expensive, considering that you can get a regular one cheaper for the ride, it was convenient and fast. Checking out was a breeze and the bellboy and the security personnel helped out with the many suitcases we had.
Overall, on our next trip to the motherland, we would love to stay again at Microtel.
Shopping Tip:
If you're going to MOA, be better prepared. I thought I was and we got lost and confused several times while trying to shop.

my stay at microtel mall of asia was very worth it. i paid for php and got a room with two king sized beds. the view was very nice, as i can see the moa eye shining brightly. the hotel is walking distance to smx convention center (for seminars and trade shows), mall of asia (for shopping, eating, activities), moa arena (for concerts and entertainment). it is also near the airport. the breakfast food was so so, but was quite weird they had fried pig/pork on a morning meal. overall, from the parking, the entrance, checking in to the staff, elevators, and room comfort, their rate is really good!
Hotel Feature Tip:
the swimming pool is on the roof top. you can see the view of the entire moa complex.

Its like other microtels, not so luxurious but the essential are well provided for especially the great location and large room. Wifi at 100 pesos per hour is a bit expensive. Water dispenser and ice chest in the corridor is great, although the limited time room service (10pm-6am), which may be sensible, makes its necessary to go outside to get meals.Hotel restaurant is good but when one gets out of the room, one might as well go to the mall.
Shopping Tip:
To get a good tour and view of the place (a huge mall) wall to it and just take the shuttle back after shopping.
