I am just staying there for a short transit and this is the best location. Cheap, no fuss hotel. What you see is what you get.
Just a short walk to Mall of Asia and adjacent to lots of restaurants and pubs. Clean and safe area. No worries about street walkers, shady characters or any other associates.

I stayed there for my conference and it is very near our smx. Also very near restaurants/ shopping mall and lots of activities within its vicinity. Good place for families/couples/ business people. I hope the price wouldn't sting a bit but since it's in a very accessible place i guess it's kinda worth it.

always a pleasure staying in this hotel. very friendly and accomodating staffs. the restaurant serves good food at very reasonable prices. the free breakfast is also great! i feel very safe staying here as the security tends to be strict at all times. will surely stay here again.

Microtel is near the airport, less than two hundred philippine peso worth of an airport yellow taxi. Anything more than that is a rip-off already. For a business traveler, its convenience more than makes up for the quite noisy and holiday atmosphere one would meet at the lobby. Considering that it is in the confines of a shopping mall complex, one can understand that its clientele would be holiday travelers where shopping and enjoyment are the main objectives. It also helps that it is the only decent hotel in the area where most accommodation is geared towards short time stays.
Two services of the hotel that I wasnt able to experiece, the free breakfast and wifi. My meeting was fairly early in the morning so when I came down for coffee and pastries, I was greeted by a long line of guests waiting for their chance to the buffet and table. Not knowing how much time I can waste, what with Metro Manila's famous traffic jam, I decided to forgo the free meal. Wifi was also quite bad in my room. So after countless tries of connecting, I stopped since my efforts were futile.
Shopping Tip:
Mall of Asia is right on its front door. So, shopping, dining and lack of leisure activities wont be a problem. Being the biggest mall in the country and claiming to be one in the continent, it offers a variety of services that will likely create a huge gaping hole in your wallet and pocket.

The front desk people need to be more polite, too few people to attend to guest.
The gentlemen that are greeters at front door and will get taxi were very polite and helpful. They know taxi drivers that will spend time to give you tour.
The lobby and dining area were so cold none of the food was enjoyable, and food was so cold it was not worth it, Variety was good, but still most food was over-cooked and served very cold.
Room service I had to beg someone to clean room and replace wet towels each day, and then it did not happen.
Restaurant Tip:
Reduce the amunt of options and do things better. Eggs were over cooked, and most people prefer scrambled not fried eggs.
Breads were not fresh, so the restaurant portion was so bad I started eating someplace else.

The hotel is located by the bay area and I felt safe walking around.
Main issues are that the reception area is very small, the bar area and resturant areas were undergoing a refurb and I was not told this until I arrived. Most worrying was in the room, there is a large glass window with a ledge to sit on, the glass was so thin and it moved in its frame. Not the toughened double/triple glazed that would be safe.
