Friendly and helpful staff.
The hotel staff are friendly and very accommodating.
The location was very hard to find especially because the hotel entrance is tucked away and the address given is a little misleading. Furthermore, nobody seemed to have heard of it, not even the cab driver.
It's an old hotel that needs a lot of work and a lot of upgrading. The lift worked very slowly and then didn't work at all. The water pressure in the shower was pitiful and there was a lack of hot water. The breakfast menu at the restaurant wasn't anything to shout about, and neither was the food there. I had one meal at the restaurant, and that was enough. I believe there are better places to stay at for the price.
Hotel Feature Tip : When giving directions to get there, mention that it's located on the corner of Roxas Boulevard and United Nations Street. The numbering doesn't help as the buildings are not in order.

The staff are friendly and helpful. The Hotel is conveniently located near US Embassy, and adjacent to the Malate area for dining and nightlife. Within 10 minutes walk of Robinsons Mall.
The old Gal is showing signs of wear and tear. The elevator does not serve the Ground floor, nor the Fifth floor, so one must use the stairs.
The Miramar Hotel is old, but it has been re-furbished tastefully. The staff are very helpful, courteous and friendly, without being over-bearing.
Some rooms are noisy from the traffic along Roxas Blvd, and if there are younger guests staying there, it can be noisy from a little boisterous activity.
Overall, it's not 5-Star, but then again, you're not paying 5-Star prices. It's good value for money, in a convenient location.

Nice clean, convenient room. Art deco theme
This is my 2nd stay at the Miramar hotel. Overall, I'm once again satisfied with my December 08 stay. However, the rate has gone up 30% since July 08 thus the hotel is no longer a bargain it once was. The staff asked if my girlfriend was going to stay the night even though she was just visiting. I didn't think this was very tactful of them.
Travel tip : Insist on a metered taxi. Many drivers too often turn it off hoping to make more. Ermita is not exactly a safe place so watch out!
