Friendly and helpful staff.

The location.

The hotel staff are friendly and very accommodating. The location was very hard to find especially because the hotel entrance is tucked away and the address given is a little misleading. Furthermore, nobody seemed to have heard of it, not even the cab driver. It's an old hotel that needs a lot of work and a lot of upgrading. The lift worked very slowly and then didn't work at all. The water pressure in the shower was pitiful and there was a lack of hot water. The breakfast menu at the restaurant wasn't anything to shout about, and neither was the food there. I had one meal at the restaurant, and that was enough. I believe there are better places to stay at for the price.

Hotel Feature Tip : When giving directions to get there, mention that it's located on the corner of Roxas Boulevard and United Nations Street. The numbering doesn't help as the buildings are not in order.

The staff are friendly and helpful. The Hotel is conveniently located near US Embassy, and adjacent to the Malate area for dining and nightlife. Within 10 minutes walk of Robinsons Mall.

The old Gal is showing signs of wear and tear. The elevator does not serve the Ground floor, nor the Fifth floor, so one must use the stairs.

The Miramar Hotel is old, but it has been re-furbished tastefully. The staff are very helpful, courteous and friendly, without being over-bearing. Some rooms are noisy from the traffic along Roxas Blvd, and if there are younger guests staying there, it can be noisy from a little boisterous activity. Overall, it's not 5-Star, but then again, you're not paying 5-Star prices. It's good value for money, in a convenient location.

Nice clean, convenient room. Art deco theme

Staff not very tactful

This is my 2nd stay at the Miramar hotel. Overall, I'm once again satisfied with my December 08 stay. However, the rate has gone up 30% since July 08 thus the hotel is no longer a bargain it once was. The staff asked if my girlfriend was going to stay the night even though she was just visiting. I didn't think this was very tactful of them.

Travel tip : Insist on a metered taxi. Many drivers too often turn it off hoping to make more. Ermita is not exactly a safe place so watch out!

Great price..worth and staff was very helpful.

Breakfast was not good, very cheap..comparing to other hotel as i have been stay other places.

First it was hard to go main gate..went other side, i think construction was going on. Hate security guard not telling where we have to enter, finally we figured it out. Check in staff was great, but when we check out staff was so rude, not even smiling. Any how, overall what you pay its ok. Thanks.

Shopping Tip : Robinson mall is just behind walking distances.. US Embassy just opposite side.. location is great.

Upon checking in was confronted with a unknow fact that this hotel required a 5000P deposit. This should be noted in the booking so that one does not have to go out prior to checking in and looking for a money exchanger to get the up front deposit.

Shopping Tip : with in walking distance to Robinson Mall and a short taxi ride to Mall of Asia

Really, you are better off staying somewhere else...there was a 5000 peso deposit, and the room was only 2500! Also, you have to pay for the internet...we got this on short notice and we were wrong! We stayed at much better places and it wasn't too more expensive!

Clean rooms and artistic 20's style decor.

None

I am very happy with this hotel. I stayed here in July 2008 paying 45 USD and for this price, the hotel delivered much better value than Best Western Corona and Executive Plaza hotel in the same area. The bathroom was remodeled and very clean! On the premise, the decor was 20's style with piped in soft music from that era. Next time in Manila, this is my hotel!

Nightlife Tip : Great location for the bar scene!

Hotel provides good service for the money. Be careful of the taxi drivers - because of the cost of fuel they dont want to turn on the meter and will demand much more than the ride is worth. Had problems cashing amex travellers cheques - the local banks close to the hotel would not exchange them and I had to call amex for a location that would (30 minute taxi ride and 500 peso later, i got what i needed)

Travel tip : Beware when ordering breakfast room service - breakfast is free so your expected to order something else from the menu that you have to pay for.

Don't give the beggar children on the streets money. They usually belong to a syndicate that gets them addicted to shoe glue and profits from them. Give them food!

The hotel seems to be frequented by very large and very noisy groups, which nobody seemed to try to keep under control, so all the weekend we stayed there was very very noisy and it was almost impossible to sleep.

Restaurant Tip : Lots of great seafood restaurants on the wharf just across the road from the hotel.
