Friendly considerate staff Easy access to local shopping centres Close to public transport. ie light rail system

A lot of taxi drivers were unable to find hotel

We found the staff of the hotel, security staff and adjoining restraunt staff friendly courteous and helpful. The amenities in the hotel adequate and the rooms clean and well lit.The hotel close to several shopping centres via a short taxi ride or one within easy walking distance. Would definitle stay there again if in Manila again. The only downside was that some taxi drivers did not know the way to the hotel ut that reflects on the taxi service not the hotel

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : close to transport light rail system even if it was crowded on trains

I like the eat all you can breakfast but since I live outside the country, i was looking for local food like, dried fish, salted eggs, arroz caldo, etc. it could have been better if these foods are present on the table. Other than that the food is no problem.

I don't like the taxis, i went to Fort Bonifacio and back the hotel and the taxi driver wants me to give him more. I think it was 150 pesos one way so since it was a two way trip, it should be 300 and i was giving him 350. He ask for more than that. Terrible!!! Another taxi driver did not put down his flag and said 'bahala na ako', but when i was paying him what i think is appropriate he said that it was not enough. From the hotel to SM megamall i paid 400 pesos!!!! I could have rode the tricylce for 50 pesos and send me somewhere near the mall. I suggest that a staff in the hotel write the plate number and how much you will be paying in a piece of paper in order not to be confuse of the price.

New Horizon Hotel was the ex Byron Hotel which I remember when I was in college. I have a classmate who lives in Maduloyong and i often notice the hotel. But this was my first time to stay in the hotel. Which I find it comfortable and the price is just right. I had an extra bed in the room and it was really an extra bed. Not like some hotels, their beds are like bunks. The hotel was just like any other hotels. You would not feel that it is a one star or two star when you are in the room. The room was huge for the price. The people are always smiling and can trust anyone of their staff. I always use the internet in the restaurant and whenever I go to the toilet or see a friend in the lobby, I would leave my things on the table and I was confident the hotel people will see to it that it is the same way as I left it. The location was perfect because it is just next to the MRT station and near the malls. I will surely recommend New Horizon Hotel with my friends. Thank you to the New Horizon Hotel staff and management. Saludo ako!

Shopping Tip : Just be careful of the taxi drivers. I think it is best that the hotel writes the taxi on a paper and how much you will pay.

For the three star Hotel, you get four star service. I have stay in manila many time and this was the best stay. The staff are very friendly and very helpful. Room are clean and big.

Breakfast was limited. The restaurant place is small and guest need to wait. Wifi is free in the lobby but people with older computer cannot access.

I have no problem in check in. The service provide by Agoda was good. The location is a litter further from the airport but the place is good. Robinson shopping and the MRT is close to the hotel. If you want to ride a taxi use the taxi service in the hotel they charge 50 peso more but it worth it. The taxi outside charges high or they rig the meter. There are also good taxi driver outside. The overall stay was good and recommended to anyone to use the Agado service and the hotel.

Travel tip : There are many street vendor outside the hotel and the food taste great.

The room was very spacious. Well isolated, no noise from traffic or other guests.

Checkout took too long time. Hot water was very variable, not nice when showering.

The location of the hotel is good, only a short taxi ride from the SM mega mall, and with several eateries in the area. The room was very spacious, excellent value for money. The checkout process was very slow, took about 15 minutes from I was being served to the checkout was completed.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : When the hotel lit their light signaling for taxis it still took them long time to arrive, it is much better to walk 50 meters to the main road and hail a taxi there yourself, and that also avoids the PHP 50 extra surcharge that is added by the taxis that are hailed by the hotel.

Clean, Staff was very nice, room service was fast and affordable

LOCATION, Breakfast Buffet was small, hot water was inconsistent

Nice hotel in a horrible location. It was very noisey, Jeepney stand right across the street. Its on a one wauy street so it is hard for cabs to get to. Brealfast buffet was very small and as a breakfast person, I was very disappointed. The staff was very friendly and accommodating

Very good hotel and clean. Personnel was very helpful and glad to serve. The room was spacious and well equipped. The restaurant and breakfast buffet were very good.

Most taxi driver didn't know the hotel by name and when they found Boni Avenue they were usually at the wrong side of the road and it's not easy to cross.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone passing through Manila. It's not close to the center but it has many malls and snacks around.

Shopping Tip : Using the Metro is much faster then a taxi for going to the mall... but very crowed.

- well located - On site resteraunt is quite good - free breakfast is quite good - room that I had was very large and well furnished and comfortable. - Unit had a small bar fridge, which made it very convienient.

- shower had great water pressure but the temprature was constantly changing which made it quite a challenge to have a good shower. this was a big issue for me. - free internet in the lobby was very slow and often did not work!

This hotel was also a good value but I have to say I was disapointed with the bathrrom and the contantly changing tempretures I kept experienceing while showering. i thought this was most annoying an in fact I suspect it could be dangerious in that it is possible to get burned during one of those shower fluctations. Over all I did enjoy the room and eventuallyI got used to having cooler showers in ordere to prevent being burned in the shower.

Shopping Tip : Very convienient to have a 7-11 convienience store right beside the hotel.

Comfortable bed, clean rooms, helpful staff

Unimpressed with breakfast,

For a budget hotel it was very clean, comfortable and much better quality than some other ones I have stayed in. Staff were very helpful and friendly. I wasn't very impressed with the breakfast, they had a very limited selection if you didn't want a hot breakfast. Did not eat any other meal.

I really like the New Horizon Hotel, it's a real european style hotel in the heart of Manila. for few dollars, you have a very good room and all the services you need to spend good time. the restaurant has very good european and asian menus. The security is good and employees are great and ready for a help. I really like that place. I encourage people to book there.

Few weaknesses, maybe the noise from the traffic in some rooms, but they work hard to reduce it. for example, I complained about the noise, they gently transfer me to another room, and the day after they were fixing the problem.

I saw the Horizon hotel for the first time in the Agoda site. The reviews were good but the price was small, so I decide to book there. When I was there, I was very surprised to see everything the Hotel offers. the employees were very nice always ready for a help. The food was good, and you are in the heart of manila. I was so good there that I decided to celebrate my future wedding in that place.

Rooms are on the big size and it was clean

With the main highway so close it will take a few minutes to get there due to ring roads.

When we arrived in the afternoon and shown the room, it was like being an executive. The staff were helpful and eager to please. The room was set out so you walked into the lounge room, on the right is the bathroom and office space. straight through is the biggest king size bed I have ever slept on. Loads of cupboard space. We eat in the restaurant and the food could not be better. I would recommend to anyone passing through Manila to spend their time at the New Horizon. There are also 5 malls within 15 minutes of the place, 2 days were not enough to do it all, we ran out of time for shopping.

Shopping Tip : Leave early and spend all day checking out the 5 malls that are within 15 minutes of the New Horizon.

Staff especially frontliner and bellboy are very friendly and helpful.

Most taxi driver couldn't find the hotel even if they are already in the Boni Avenue area. However, if you told them EDSA corner, they will find it easily after having to make an illegal u-turn nearby.

My family and I stayed from 5 - 9th June 2009. Fixing additional bed requested upon checked in was very smooth and it take less than 10 minutes. Hotel room is in good size for my family of 5. TV has many channels inclusive Star Movie, HBO. On the 3rd day of stay, there is little problem with the ceiling (air buble) that they asked if we agree to be transfered to room next door. They assist us with carrying the luggage, fixing the additional bed, etc. Taxi called by the hotel was reliable. We always asked the frontliner how much it cost roughly and request taxi driver to use meter/ or agreed with the taxi driver on the cost before entering. Hotel provide breakfast which looks sumptious but we don't consume as we are Muslims. It was a walking distance to nearby Robinson Mall. Within 20 mins by taxi to Greenhill (meter taxi P750), 30 mins to Makati (meter taxi P130), 40 mins to Manila Bay Ocean Park using inside road (meter taxi P180), to Mall of Asia (meter taxi P170), to SM Mega Mall (meter taxi P80 only but we paid P150 to taxi driver on 1st day arrival).

Shopping Tip : Get your souvenir stuff at Greenhill as well as imitations item ie. Crocs. For Muslim, dine at Hossein Persian Kebab in Burgos area Makati.

the hotel staff couldnt have been nicer they were always willing to help and the breakfast was fresh and offered a good variety . Taxis past by the front door .The room was clean and i would recomend it to anyone.

The building was a little old but well maintained

The new horizon offers us a safe haven in an unfamiliar city that is not over friendly. From the warm smile at the front door to the goodmorning from staff willing to please we felt totally relaxed and cared for . The food was excellent and room service was prompt and first rate .Forget the more expensive bigger hotels this is a hotel that offers real value for money.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : visit the old walled fort built in the 1600 it really is worth a visit get there from manilla bay by horse and cart [ an experience in its self]
