Location and the fact it had free wifi! Also the size for the price was great! I would stay again.
bath room i believe could be an improvement. Like more towls and wash clothes.
Its central location makes it a great spot for almost any activity. Plenty of resteraunts and bars close. The mall was down the street. So much for the area.
Shopping Tip : Mall just mins away.

Big rooms, friendly housekeeping staff, big mall nearby
smell, laundry station on 7th floor, housekeeping station on every other floor, noisy, unfriendly front staff, not to happy 1st floor eatery staff, not very helpful reception
if your in manila=god bless but this hotel front desk got a yellow cab for me who was drunk and would not turn on meter, front desk just only answer yes or no, they did not even ask why i was leaving a day early without asking for a refund, i would not stay here even if they offered free nights
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : if your in manila just pack your bags and go to cebu. the only thing i felt this area offered was one of the biggest malls i have ever seen and that too was a bit of disappointment

Location of the hotel. This area of Manila is open for a mix of people.
Train is within walking distance. Take it from one end of the city to the other for 15 Peso, PHP.
7/11 Convenience Store is right next door. Go out the front door and turn right, 50 meters on the corner. Has just about anything you need late at night. Beer, Wine, some Licker, hot chicken and some other foot, bottled water and the normal things.
ATM Machine out the front door to the right 10 meters. If your card does not work at this one Robinsons Mall is a 5 minute walk or 2 minutes by bicycle taxi. You have to ride one at least once. Bike with a covered side car.
My room was big, had a large full bath tub and a large stand up shower big enough for 2 people easy.
Room service was fast and food was good.
Second floor has the main restaurant. I went inside and looked around. Has an excellent view of the street below but I prefer to be on the street. I never ate inside.
Extra towels were provided at no cost.
Café down stairs has excellent coffee for the morning and has open-air tables to sit outside and watch. Smoking is allowed outside.
I found the staff to be very trust worthy. I had nothing bothered in my room and I’m bad about leaving things out.
Room safe was provided. Simple to use.
Air-conditioning was a floor wall unit but would run you out. Kept the room nice and cool.
Cable TV with lots of English channels. Movies, news, whatever you wished.
Wireless internet was good. Had a few problems when I first arrived but the staff was prompt to come to my room and help fix the problem. Can be slow at times but over all it was good.
Security was good and would always ask if I had visitors before letting them in. Som
Not much really.
My big one was Room service after 2400 hours or midnight. They did not have any after 2400 hrs during the time I stayed. Before midnight was good. If your coming in after midnight stop by 7/11 and get some chicken before you go up if your like me and get the munches. I gave the Hotel a rating of a 3 in food not because of quality but because of not having room service after midnight. Food was really good.
Taxi to the Airport-Not a Hotel problem however; you needed to know it might take 2 hours to get to the Airport due to traffic. Make sure you give yourself plenty of time. The Hotel add says 15 minutes or so away from the Airport which is true with no traffic. Nevertheless, I have never seen it take less that 45 minutes to an hour to get there. So be warned.
First time travelers to the Philippines, remember to keep 1000 to 2000 Peso’s with you to pay the Tax at the Airport to leave the country. It cost I think 750 Pesos per-person. You need to pay before going through Customs and give them the little blue card with your passport.
I had a great time in this area of Manila. The hotel is close to many things to see and do. Both Nightlife and shopping during the day. Robinsons Mall is 5 minutes away and has every thing from food to computers and clothes. I bought a few nice short sleeves shirts with collar and pocket for 300 Pesos. Not bad. The Manila Bay is 5 to 10 minute walk and has a nice bay walk on it with vendors and many people to meet. U.S. Embassy is close as well. The Mall of Asia is a 10-minute Taxi ride and is worth going to see if nothing else. It is huge and plenty of ATM Machines around so no need to carry to much cash with you if you do not wish to. The Hotel Staff treated me very good. My Room was big, the bed was huge and clean. Big bathtub to soak in or a big stand up shower separate from the bathtub to stand and let the hot water run over your head. Cable TV, Wireless Internet, Telephone. It was very clean and well run Hotel. Café with street side tables and smoking area or inside with a good view to the street outside. Up stairs on the 2nd floor is the main restaurant. Area is great for both Singles and Couples. Looking forward to going back. Note: I booked with Agoda online after shopping for over 2 weeks to try and find a cheaper rate. I found Agoda to offer the best deals at the time I booked. My stay was from the 15th of May 09 to the 31st. Not pushing them, check for your self. However, I would book a place with someone before going. I saw many folks at the desk trying to get rooms and were turned away because the Hotel was booked full. Get a place before you go.
Nightlife Tip : Excellent area for Manila Nightlife. Many bars and clubs with in walking distance. Start at the front door and within one block you are at a restaurant, café or club in any direction you go. Has a good mix of anything a single person could be looking for. One of my favorites is out the front door and turn left, and walk 300 meters to the open-air café bar. Get a seat close to the sidewalk and watch the fun go by. If you wish to avoid the peddlers, move one table in but to me its fun. Beer is so cold it ices up when the top comes off.

hotel is great and clean, staff is very friendly, the breakfast is good with some variety.
when you need to take a cab, be careful with the drivers, they like to overcharge, always have them turn the meter on.There are some beggars around in the neighborhood especially when you are walking to the nearby Robinson mall, (10 minutes walk). All together my fiance and I had a great time there and enjoyed our stay at the pearl garden hotel, thank you all very much
Shopping Tip : Robinson mall is very close, ocean park is only 15 minutes drive away from the hotel on manila bay

Huge and comfortable King Size bed, bath tub and shower available separately (not combined), LCD tv, dark curtains to block out bright sunlight, air-condition was just right (not too cold), excellent service and courteous staff, 7E just 2 doors away, yellow lighting ( i look good under yellow light.. hehe) and utmost privacy.
only one - noisy traffic below (soundproofing the rooms?)
I absolutely loved my stay in Pearl Garden Hotel's Executive Suite. I was very happy with the room and the amenities available. The aircond was not too cold and the lighting was nice as it was yellow instead of the usual bright white, so it gave a nice romantic ambience. I would highly recommend it for couples. The close proximity of 7E nearby makes it easier for a quick drop in for drinks or snacks. I also loved the fact that it was very near to Robinson's shopping mall and the old baywalk, within walking distance of 10 mins. Staff are very polite and you are assured of your privacy. The only thing I didn't like was the noise of traffic and car alarms going off intermittently and the constant honking. Perhaps the hotel could get thicker windows to block out the noise?

Beware, all rooms are smoking.
The location of this hotel is ideal as it is directly across the street from a 7-11, and there are many dining restaurants everywhere. There are also money changers and laundry shops right down the street. The breakfast is okay. The room is good value as I found it to be in good shape and nothing old. The only downside is that there are no non-smoking rooms which I didn't find out till I checked in, but the staff was nice enough to move me a different room with less of a smoky room. The staff at this hotel are nice and helpful, I have no complaints. I would definitely stay here again.

Good Location close to Robinson s Manila Mall, Good Breakfast in the Morning, the hotel was very clean.
I wish they had more things on their Breakfast to eat. I would like to have a balcony. A pool would be nice as well.
It was an excellent Hotel for the money, and location. I would like for the Hotel to get a Pool, expand the rooms, and make them bigger. More Breakfast options on the Buffet in the Morning. The Hotel has a very courteous staff, they really worked hard to make our stay happy, and did all the little things right. I will stay their again next time I am in Manila.
Shopping Tip : Robinson's Manila is right down the street half a block from the hotel, it is a big mall with everything that you could want, also plenty of restaurants. Glorietta Mall is a ten minute cab ride from there and is even bigger.

Located along busy street and lots of pubs in the vicinity, not suitable for families with young children. Good food is easily available near hotel and Robinson Shopping Mall is just 10 mins walk away. Staff are friendly and helpful, internet access available in room at no cost. Aways lock your door after you get into taxi, lots of beggars around who will open your car door to beg for money.
Travel tip : lots of Japanese restaurant nearby

Great location, Good value
My first stay at the Pearl Garden was in December of 2007. I found the hotel to be of exceptional value. The staff is very friendly and the rooms are comfortable and clean. The only trouble I've ever had are have been lazy shower heads that tend to droop down because of the wrong tension to hold them in place. Outside of that the bathrooms are spacious and tidy. Most rooms have a flatscreen TV. A welcome drink comes with each stay plus a free breakfast for the following morning. If you are interested in setting up a day tour, services are located right in the lobby.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Besides being located fairly close to Intramuros, the hotel is also located near Roxas boulevard. I especially enjoy going for a run on Roxas either early in the morning or as the sun begins to fall. It is a great place to watch people and to see the splendor of Manila bay as the day changes into night.

The hotel provides in the room info about getting a good massage in just minutes in your room for a very reasonable price.
The Pearl Garden was ranked as one of the better of the mid-range hotels. I must be fair that I did not go to other mid-range hotels so I do not have much to compare it to. I also stayed in one of the more expensive "executive suites" which I found plenty spacious with fully stocked mini bar, large comfortable bed and luxurious tiled bathroom with huge shower and tub with a partial view of the Manila bay. Most reviews do mention that the neighborhood is not the best but I just did not see much that I would walk to from the hotel. I think that if I went back to Manila I would stay in the Makati area. Finally, the last thing that stood out to me was that though the reception people were not rude at all they seemed somewhat unfriendly and put out having to check me in and out and this was in stark contrast to all the other wonderfully friendly people I encountered in 3 weeks in the Philippines.
Nightlife Tip : Most people will want to take a taxi to your destination from the hotel.

Great staff, near Robinson's mall, fairly new hotel, clean rooms with in-room safe deposit boxes. Breakfast buffet ok. Free wifi but spotty.
LObby area is small sharing the first floor with a coffee shop. Beggers, children begging with their mother and pirated good sellers are annoying.
Location is ok, close to Mall with less riff- raff then the street over on Mambini. Over all a good value will probably sts ther again. Enjoy the cafe that's connected to the lobby..free but spotty wifi. 7-11 is at the corner acrss from the Pan Pacific. Night time can get a little dodgy...just commom sense.

Room was clean, comfortable and attractive, comparing favorably with mid-range US chain hotels.
Breakfast was OK, but for those looking for unambiguously safe (i.e. cooked and piping hot) and healthy (i.e. low-fat) options, there are few choices in their buffet (but enough to keep you from starving).
Also, the doorman needs to better assist guests in finding honest taxis. When leaving the hotel, I asked the doorman to call a taxi. First taxi he called for me seemed OK, but after I got in, the driver claimed he had a "broken meter." After much strenuous insistence, the driver let me out a few blocks down the road (thank goodness I hadn't put my bags in the trunk). I walked back to the hotel, asked the doorman to call me an HONEST meter taxi. So he flagged down another taxi, talked to the driver briefly, and assured me this was a good taxi. And so it seemed, until I arrived at the airport, and it became clear that the driver had somehow rigged his meter to show 700 pesos, rather than the usual 250 peso fare (upon arguing, the driver quickly caved and accepted 250 pesos, which leads me to believe even that was too high a fare). So, I am deeply disappointed that the doorman doesn't know how to (or doesn't care to) find an even somewhat reputable meter cab for his customers.
As a Manila first-timer, was extremely impressed by this hotel. Service at the front desk was quick, professional, and hassle-free. All areas of the hotel were clean, modern, and attractive. The room itself was roomy, air-conditioned, with fridge, well-lit desk, and large hang-up wardrobe (with interior light). The bathroom was exceptional, as it was quite large, well stocked with guest amenities (soap, shampoo, toothbrushes/toothpaste, etc) and featured both a bathtub AND a shower stall. Excellent WiFi coverage in the room. Housekeeping service was excellent and unobtrusive (I slept in late, but never had the obnoxious "housekeeping!" knock on the door all too common in US facilities). Security was excellent, with an armed guard watching the front door at all times; street immediately outside the hotel seemed safe enough to walk around at all hours, though puritanical American families with impressionable children might be offended (massage places and clubs with suggestively-clad female touts are adjacent to the hotel). I would give this hotel my highest recommendation for travelers looking for reasonably priced accommodation in Manila.
Hotel Feature Tip : Rather than pay minibar prices, buy your bottled water dirt-cheap at the convenience store immediately across the street from the hotel.
If you're looking for sanitary and healthy food, there are many excellent choices in the food courts of Robinson's Place Mall, just a couple blocks north of the hotel.

Friendly and helpful counter staff, free wifi in rooms without additional costs), courteous hotel staff wherever, comfortable renovated rooms, excellent location.
Pearl Garden Hotel has a host of very friendly and helpful staff. The location is simply the best. Rooms are clean and new. Beds are comfortable and mattress in good condition. Though the rooms are not very large it is cozy. Wifi (wireless internet) is free in rooms while nearby hotels would require you to buy a wifi card. Breakfast is not great, with a small spread. Hotel location is the best, very convenient to Robinson Place, a very large new shopping mall. 10 mins walk to Petro Gil the LRT station Line 1. Good choice if budget permits.
Nightlife Tip : Geared to many Japanese and Korean travelers as restaurants display their language, always insists of meter when board taxis, if budget does not permit try hotels nearby for half the price but a compromised standard of room/service.

Excellent Customer Service, Clean Room, Clean Bathroom, Comfortable Bed
A little Noisy from the street, all rooms are smoking rooms. Free Breakfast does not include drinks and does not offer much selection.
Manila Pearl Garden is right in the middle of the Malate nightlife district. You are able to walk the few blocks to the nightclubs and restaurants without having to take a taxi. Rooms on the front side of the hotel are a little bit noisy from traffic, but it is tolerable. Free Wireless Internet is average at best, but you need to get the password upon checking in.
Shopping Tip : You are two blocks from Robinson's Mall which is open from 10 am to 9 pm everyday.
