I have stayed at this hotel several times now and on each occasion I have not been disappointed. The hotel represents excellent value for money. There is the usual fast food outlets close by, some open 24hrs, and an excellent shop selling most things, opposite the hotel. There is a major hospital "The Manila Doctors Hospital " about 100 metres away.T he cash A.T.M. machines are on the same road. Whenever I need to go to this part of Manila I choose this Hotel.
Hotel Feature Tip : The reception is on the 9th floor, as is the breakfast room.

The location is far from busy street I chose this hotel because the price is very cheap. But I don't want to stay this hotel twice. There are lot of cheap hotels near the busy streets. The location is far from the busy streets, it is inconvenient. I think if the location is no problem , it is not bad hotel.

The room wasn't clean enough. The first room was leaking, and we changed three rooms during two days.

Nice surroundings.
Good location. hotel staff were not helpful. I found that in general, the hotel was well located to enable me to get to see places. Everything about the surrounings was friendly. However, i did find that the hotel staff were not as friendly as i enjoyed at other hotels.
On the whole, i wold recomend this hotel. Not too expensive and well located.

We enjoyed our stay at Pearl Manila. After our 4-day accommodation, it has become the first hotel that comes to mind whenever a place to stay in Manila is necessary. We would definitely love to go back and will recommend it to our relatives & friends. We take our hats off to everyone from the reception staff to the elevator operators, room attendants and security guards. Keep up the excellent work!

Relatively New (1998), Usually competent staff,
rather good free breakfast buffet, many cafes across General Luna Ave., close to large Robinsons Mall, fairly close to Ocean Park ocean aquarium and US Embassy which are both on Roxas Blvd.
Pearl Manila Hotel is more active in cleaning and sometimes updating their rooms, exterior repainted in early 2008 No Outside food allowed, Damage Deposit policy,
somewhat out of the way, taxi drivers usually do not know its location
rooms facing Taft Ave (even numbered rooms)suffers from street and light rail noise Despite many strengths and being much newer than its competitors, strange anti-guest policies force me not to recommend the Pearl Manila Hotel.
Outside food no longer allowed to be brought into rooms even though the rather limited room service menu is not available after 10PM.
Visitors after 10PM must register.
A very weird damage deposit policy seems to be sporadically enforced. The longtime hotel manager
reluctantly admitted the hotel owners want a one thousand peso policy for even a one night stay. Outrageous! And this damage deposit policy is not mentioned or explained when you book a room.
Walk out of the backside of the small ground floor lobby (real lobby is on 9th floor)and thru the rather tiny ground floor mini mall to Taft Ave. Turn left towards Padre Faura Ave and walk about two minutes. Get your taxi there so it can make a U turn thru an opening in the lane divider to get to Robinsons Mall or anywhere else in the Ermita section of town (bars like LA Cafe, G Point Bar etc.). If you take a tsxi at the hotel's front door on General Luna you immediately hit traffic gridlock at intersection of Padre Faura and General Luna Avenues.
Hotel Feature Tip :
No outside food allowed to be brought in to your own room and the limited and expensive room service menu not served after 10PM.....also potential damage deposit policy if it is enforced

For Manila a very good value. I would definitely consider staying here again in the future and would recommend it to anyone also.
Travel tip : For those needing a hotel not too far from the US Embassy or St. Luke's Medical Clinic, this is a good choice. Both are only about a 10-15 minute walk.

Restaurant Tip : I found some good restaurants serving Filipino food just a short walk from the hotel on United Nations Ave.
