Great location but small rooms
The room service was prompt.

prior to checking in, i called the hotel in advance to request for a queen bed instead of two twin beds and that it be a smoking room. i called twice just to be sure. Upon check-in, the request for queen bed was noted but the smoking room was not. it only took a minute to have our room changed.
i also called to ask if they can give a welcome note or letter greeting my husband a happy birthday. i know its not too much to ask them for a personal touch or even have them greet my husband a happy birthday but it seemed this request was a 'little far-out' for the staff i was speaking to on the phone. i mean how hard is it to print a welcome letter with a happy birthday greeting? the hotel staff's suggestion was that i check-in separate and earlier from my husband to just give them a note that they can put in our room. i told them that it wasnt possible and it wasnt practical for me to go there early just to give them a note. in the end, this easy (in my opinion) request was set aside.
The Superior room was smaller than we expected. the distance of the bed from the tv cabinet and mini bar were only inches apart. to save space, the cabinet doors and bathroom doors were the kinds that fold. small bathroom and bath tub. you notice at once that this hotel has aged but at least theyre keeping everything clean.
the buffet selection was ok. they had bacon which is another plus. their chicken, as well as the half fried chicken we ordered via room service, was dry. other than that, the food was ok. the room service was quick and they let you know how long it would take for the food to get to your room.
At the time of our booking, one of their restaurants on the 2nd floor was undergoing renovation so there was construction noise heard from the lobby up to the 4th. but dont fret because they will check you in the higher floors.
Shopping Tip:
nearby shopping malls like SM Megamall, St. Francis square, and Shangri-la are only about 2-3 blocks away and at least a 10-minute walk. Robinson's galleria is nearby as well, but i'd suggest taking a car/taxi to get here.

Very nice hotel

I had a nice stay at Richmonde Hotel in Ortigas. The staff, especially the bellboy who helped me, are generally warm and friendly. The room was very clean and well equipped. The bedsheets and towels were also very clean. The layout of the room is fine, and its size is just right, not so small nor big. The breakfast was also sumptuous. I really enjoyed my stay and I am willing to come back in the future.

It is always nice to stay at Richmonde because the elegant atmosphere belies the homey feel of the rooms. The service is also very good. The staff are friendly and helpful. The amenities are adequate for the size of the hotel and the needs of the guests.
